His tailed waved encouragingly as her words spilled forth. For a moment he just blinked at her, processing her little bomb shell. Two things hit him. First, Nina, third in the pack, had a mate. Second, the two alpha's of Willow Ridge were indeed not mated. Both of these things were untraditional to say the least, but to find them both out simultaneously tripped up his very tradition-minded upbringing.

Then he saw the look on her face as she spoke of her mate. How could anyone deny this beautiful and giving fae any happiness? She had been through so much and always put others first. This was the first time that he saw evidence of her taking some bit of happiness for herself alone. After his long moment of silence the strangeness faded, he grinned at her and said, "Good for you! He is a lucky wolf!" He meant it too. His heart belong to a young silver fae, but he knew that anyone that had earned the love of his friend was indeed a luck man.

A small smile lit up her face when she heard. Finally, something seemed to be coming out of what was happening. Sloane was happy for her. Others had asked her if she was truly making the right decision or whether or not she was going to be happy living the way she was. This giant in front of her just seemed to be generally pleased that she had found someone. Her own heart pounded heavily in her chest as she looked up at him. She had missed her mate dearly, her own heart aching for him. When she had been within Willow Ridge she had not seen much of him, and this had succeeded in wounding Nina to her core. She finally had to accept that he had been too busy. . .mainly after the flood in which had devastated another pack’s home.

Her tail wagged behind her and her ears pricked slightly, new light dancing within her remaining eye. It seemed that time had flown by, for when she looked back up at the sky the sun was starting to set. She knew she had much to get taken care of. . .getting some herbs gathered before the frosts came being on of her high goals. She nodded briefly to her friend before saying her goodbye’s. "It was great to see you again, Sloane, and I‘m sure I‘ll be seeing you soon. Duty is calling me, I‘m afraid, so until next time!" With a small dip of her head she turned on her heel and limped away, the only difference this time. . .was the limp caused her little trouble.
It seems when you're around, my life is complete.

He could only hope that the feelings that he had for Narime' and whatever she might feel for him could stand the test of time and distance as Nina and her mate were doing. Time was going by, but not nearly fast enough in his eyes. Time would tell and hopefully Nina and he would both be with the wolves that they loved soon enough.

After a moment of silence as the two pondered what had just been shared, Nina seemed to collect herself and was back to business, excusing herself as she moved off with only the slightest of limps now. The russet wolf smiled at her retreating form and hoped that all would work out for her and her love. If any wolf deserved to be happy, it was Nina.
