Kinis Tainn

Just like that, it was so beautifully easy, and Kinis had never felt less concerned over his own hunger. Ruiko and Triell both took happily to his suggestion, and Kinis couldn't help but feel immensely grateful. His adrenaline-high, having started from the moment he had heard Triell's call, was ongoing enough to propel Kinis head first into this new pursuit. At Ruiko's implication that they initiate it, Kinis nodded eagerly, glad to jump so easily back into his lessons.

During his time alone, whilst he had not been able to catch much he had been acutely aware of their presence. It was a curse more than anything, for it had not helped his frame of mind to know that, if he had been a little stronger or faster or awake, there was walking meat just beyond that mound. Vividly imagining a successful hunt had almost been enough to satisfy him, if temporarily, but it had had one positive effect; in trying to enact these hunts for real, Kinis had had plenty of opportunities to practise stalking and tracking. He couldn't catch and kill them, but boy, his slow starvation sure got him close.

Unsure how skilled Triell was - probably very, considering his brother seemed to be back in the pack, and they were nearly of age - Kinis gave his black sibling a pointed look, gesturing with his muzzle that they should head deeper into the forest. That had been where the biggest unobtainable feasts had sat, tempting and glorious. Despite his eagerness, he was ever the subconscious follower, and waited for Triell to acknowledge his suggestion and move forwards himself; at that sign, Kinis would happily lope after him, nose lowered but ears high.

Triell Tainn
Triell should have been prepared for that kind of an answer. They were being trained to master hunting on their own, Ruiko wanted them to choose, to find it. Further strengthen their education. Black tail waved back and forth, he was up for the challenge and hoped Kinis felt likewise. He could further gain skill with pratice, and least if something went amiss Ruiko was there with guidance. Very reassuring. Head titled in Kinis' direction, and he noticed his own anticipation.

Black body twisted round in the direction of the muzzle point. Yes, the forest would be a great place. This whole leading thing often threw Triell off. First Cori, and now Kinis making a silent suggestion they would follow. He would step up to the plate, "Good idea,"he said flashing a grin, tail swinging. Crouching lower to the earth, his limbs stretched like the tight strings of a bow, one after the other fluidly, slinking over the ground. Ears were drawn up like proper radar detectors, and his nostrils sweeping up the thousands, and thousands of aromas. Alright, here we go. The mechanics in his mind were swiftly trying to focus on prey scents, and throw away the rest. There was nothing fresh, and Triell ventured further into the forest.

After a thorough check of one bush, head casually turned to check on his brother's progress. Nothing yet. Slowly stalking foward, he kept ears ready if they should speak up, but continued searching. A little deeper he could pick at the dominant scent of deer. Zig-zagging finding the strongest location where it had stepped through a few ferns. He breathed in deep, it hadn't passed by to long ago. Head up, he waited briefly till he saw the brown hides of his brother's. "I think I got something here," he said with aver.
