OOC: XD That was fun!

The call of surrender from the other wolf seemed a switch - and he stopped growling, snarling and well..everything before backing up a step and sitting in the snow. "An admiral opponent.. I have to say I wasn't expecting to find one so soon in this place." Respect was the tamber of his voice when he spoke, surprised really.. to find a wolf who could put up a decent bout. Maicoh chuckled, turning his head to inspect the wound on his elbow, but being unable to reach it - he wasn't a giraffe! "I thank you for that invigorating morning workout, stranger. The name is Maicoh.." Odd...perhaps that he was being so cordial, but the male had respect for wolves who knew what they were doing - this one did...he simply lacked experience in sparring.. The bouts between his brother Kleil and himself could get rather brutal.. when it came right down to it.

O O C | Oh, yes. XD

Almost immediately the wolf holding him down quieted and backed off. Catching his breath, Angier laid on the ground, ripples of pain radiating from his shoulder. The brute spoke and the Lyall listened carefully. A compliment was given, a statement of surprise, and a warm ‘thank you’ along with an introduction. “Maicoh.” Easing himself onto his feet, he looked Maicoh, eyeing him now that they both stood still in a peculiar sort of truce.

The tan-pelted male whimpered a bit as he placed his weight down on his affected paw, finding that it painfully stretched the area over his shoulder where his opponent had successfully struck. Lifting his forepaw from the snow, Angier bowed his head, “I can say the same to you.” He winced, causing the dark, line-like marking on one side of his face to arch before straightening back out. “Angier,” he added, exhaling quietly. “So… what exactly are you doing out at this hour of the night? Couldn’t ‘ave been chasing that deer, I assume…”

OOC: -does the dance of backness!-

"I was bored.. So I decided to have some fun.. and was chasing the deer." The ironic tone in his voice made his lips curl with a soft chuckle before he turned, lifting his leg and inspecting the wound at the back of his elbow... A decent strike from the other male. He shifted and stretched, or tried to and immediately retracted the injured limb, frowning at it as he tested his weight. The adrenaline rush that had come with being in such a fight was waning.. and leaving the sore muscles and injuries in its wake. "Of course...The same could be asked of you - being out so late."

O O C | yay! :D

Angier tilted his head curiously. “I see…” he mused, taking in Maicoh’s slight laugh. He sat down, flattening the snow as he lowered onto his hind legs. The masked male echoed his curiosity and the Lyall grinned. “Jus’ tryin’ to find a good place to rest for th’ night. I ran into a bear a few days ago…” He snickered. “Wasn’t a big deal… I just helped a random wolf protect a couple of yearlings, but ever since then, I figured I might as well find a spot that’s more… sheltered. Heh…”

"A bear? They're awake this time of year? I would have never thought." He frowned at such a thing being possible, but glanced at the other large male. "What I'd like to know is why a couple of yearlings were playing around where a bear could get them." The male flicked his ear back and forth as if listening to something or other before he returned his attention to the male a few feet from him. "I might have to consider doing the same.. finding a more permanent place to stay. As much as I'd like to wait for my brother...I don't think he's coming." There was a sad tone to that, Maicoh did miss his brother... But he knew that without his sibling, he was prone to doing stupid things.."Do you have any idea where some packs might roam?"

“Heh…” the Lyall scoffed. “Apparently, yeah, or one of ‘em anyhow.” His head shook as he heard Maicoh question how the yearlings had made themselves so vulnerable. “Beats me,” he muttered under his breath. The other male then echoed his response, mentioning his brother who had also seemed to be missing. As much as he didn’t want to think of Borden or Nolan, who was now leading in his place back at home, it still came to mind. In fact, nowadays, he noticed, it didn’t take very much to bring up memories of his family, his brothers...

Whisking his thoughts away, he softly smiled, thinking briefly before pointing to his nose towards the silhouette of Mount Dire, “On my way ‘ere, a while ago, I could’ve sworn I crossed paths with a territory marker, seemed like it was recently visited at the time but it prominently bore the scent of two males. Assuming they’re apart of a pack, you’ll prob’ly find ‘em there… on the mountain.”

"Mo-Mountain?" Gulp. The large male glanced in the direction that Angier suggested, then gulped a little more before glancing back to the other wolf.. and lowering himself into the snow. Was he cowering? Perhaps. "I..Mountain.. Right...Well...uhh..perhaps they've need of a large..brute..or two..if my brother comes calling." The ears of the large male folded over his head as he glanced at the mountain again, the whites of his eyes showing before he coughed, clearing his throat and getting to his feet. "Uh.. Well. I suppose I should be going.. It was good meeting you, Angier. Let's hope the next time we meet it won't be over a bear.. or a deer...mm?" Running away? Never.

Angier raised a brow at Maicoh’s reaction to the word. Mountain… What was so scary about that? It’s a large, prominent feature of the earth, often a landmark that nurtures a variety of peculiar prey and predators. Seriously. Well, his upbringing along the lofty sides of a valley had probably accustomed him to heights, but he hadn’t fully considered that fact. The large, darker male stated something that sounded like he had considered the option of joining the pack if his brother happened to come along with him. The Lyall watched as Maicoh got up; if he had been given the choice to take his siblings with him, he would have taken the chances of scaling the mountain alone.

The masked brute stated that he was pleased to have his adversary’s acquaintance and Angier smiled quietly, “Likewise.” The mentioning of a bear or deer made him slightly laugh as he, too, stood, “Yep. Let’s hope not.” Ready to make his leave, he waited for Maicoh to choose a direction, whichever path he chose, he would opt for taking an opposite route in an effort to avoid meeting the lone male again.

OOC: XD Took me forever.. but yay! 'tis done!

At first, he thought about going to the mountain, but his fear of heights.. he knew he couldn't do it. Not just.. yet. At the closing comments, Maicoh pulled away and started towards the forest to the west.. no, he'd avoid the mountain for now. Besides.. there had to be other packs out there, right? A land as large as this couldn't be without its share of packs. He'd already met quite a few wolves to begin with! The larger male flicked his tail in silent farewell before he picked up the pace and trotted into the trees and steadily *AWAY* from the mountain. An odd thing.. meeting a wolf and fighting him.. but he felt justified... Felt.. satisfied and triumphant. He could do things without his brother! Scary to think so.. but possible.
