Linara Warha

Bright eyed Linara Held an Elk by the neck, dragging it would proudly. Her eyes would search for a spot to lay down with it. finally picking a spot, she would pace in a circle for a moment, after setting the elk in The perfecting spit, she lay next to it, taking a chunk carnivorously with her teeth.

Her eyes closed in contentment as she chewed the catch happily. The elk wasn't big, it was a sick one, that must of strayed from it's herd. To weak to run, it was laying in the woods, and gave up less than a valiant effort to run. Even then, Linara was proud, and quite content that she would be full for the next 2 weeks!

Her eyes opened as she looked off, hearing the brush move with the life of the wood. She was trying to stay attentive, as she knew there were quite a few Wolves that ran through this area of the wood, as the WildWood was the vast majority of the area.

She knew Grizzly Hollow was somewhere close, so she kept on her toes, just in case they deemed her an intruder and chased her from her feast. Shifting her paws and taking another chunk from the dead elk, she pondered. She wondered how the pack was back south. She shut her eyes and sighed from her nostrils, before continuing chewing.

Ice Aesir
you do not know who is your friend
or who is your enemy
until the   ICE breaks.
Since Ice had come down from the mountains some day or two ago, he'd decided he might as well prolong his stay and see what he could find. Normally, he would've enjoyed the solitude of the harsh mountain range, sitting on a snowy rock and watching the sky and thinking about life - and also being painfully aware of how lonely he sometimes was, and the fact that a huge chunk of his life was missing - and then he'd hunt, eat, and sleep. And then, repeat.

Sometimes he found it very strange that he had taken up such a lonely life at the edges of existence and known land because deep within, he was one who thought the ultimate way to die was to die for the ones you loved. But how could you possibly do that, when you were alone, and thus did not allow anyone to come close? Ice shook his head. He didn't know. He liked the mountains, and that's why he stuck around up there - he wasn't so certain he liked other wolves that much, and he wasn't about to go gallivanting off with anyone. No; only those who were worthy would receive his loyalty. It wasn't something you could buy, it was something you had to earn.

He'd left the firefly-meadow of flowers behind, he'd traveled through the woods, and slept uneasy in unknown land. But now he was awake, and hunger gnawed in his gut. The scent of fresh death caught his attention, and even though he knew the kill likely belonged to someone else, Ice figured it was worth a shot. If it was a rude wolf, he could always try staring it down, eat his share of the meat, and then leave it with the leftovers. But, no point in deciding on such cruel tactics in advance. Instead, Ice perked his ears and trod lightly, almost bouncing across the ground. Social interactions were both horribly awkward, and somehow so utterly exciting it made him feel like a puppy again.

Long before he came close enough to see her, he identified her as female by her scent. Not in heat, no, no, but still there was the hormonal difference, and it gave them away. Curiously, but shyly, he came into sight around some thick trees and slowly de-leafing bushes. The female with the dead elk was average and plain, nothing spectacular but certainly not ugly. Briefly, he wondered at the fact she'd brought such a large animal down a lone, but then he shrugged. There must've been some reason for it to be so easy, and he wasn't about to call her an awful huntress without having seen her in action first. Instead, he approached her slowly, cautious but not uncertain, and gave a friendly twitch of his tail. "Hello there," he began to say, before his stomach rumbled again and he paused, blinking as if confused. "I was drawn by the scent of your kill," he continued. "I'm, uhm, do you want to share?" It looked so delicious, fresh warm red meat...

Linara chew happily, feeling quite content with her meal. Her ears perked as the brush moved in an unsettling manner. She couldn't pick up the scent as well, as blood of the elk covered her snout. The smell of blood filled her nostrils. As she looked up, spotting a speck of light gray from within the deep of the woods. She felt suddenly uneasy, pausing from her meal for a moment, her green eyes locking onto the wolf as he came into view.

Her eyes seemed to scan a large male wolf. Much larger than she. He didn't seem to want to start anything, be she had to be cautious with her actions. This wolf could pull her to shreds in a heart-beat. Her heart sped up a bit as he padded closer to her, the thought of the possible threat, or the possible interaction with the wolf both scared her a little. Her shy nature caused her to pin her ears back, her expression was a bit nervous and scared.

As he approached her, she almost proceeded to tell him he could just have it, just so she could dart away and avoid interaction. Her eyes snapped to a sudden movement behind him as he tail wagged in a friendly manner. She relaxed a bit, noticed she had tensed quite a bit as he neared her. He paws were pushing her up slightly in a nervous crouch. His greeting was sincere, and his face was non-threatening. She settled back down in her spot and nodded to him in greeting.

"H-hi..." She mumbled quietly. Her eyes pointed down, afraid to make eye contact. She looked up at him at his requested and nodded slightly, her eyes looking up at him, although her head was pointed down. giving her a shy look, almost a puppy like look. Afraid to speak, she simply nodded.

until the   ICE breaks.
It seemed his presence greatly startled her. He could see the muscles tensing up under her coat, the way her eyes widened and ears came back. Ice stopped where he was and looked a bit concerned for a moment. Was he truly that frightening? Just for good measure, he looked over his shoulder to see if there was something else there that could frighten her. No, nothing - he even scented the winds and it came up with nothing. Frowning, he looked back to her and tilted his head. It had to be him, then, but why?

Then something happened and she relaxed visibly, and a small grin crept onto his face. His tail picked up momentum and began to slowly wave from side to side. Her reaction had caught him off guard and it wasn't until she nodded at him and returned the greeting with a shaky mumble that he dared to take a couple of steps closer. She even gave him leave to eat off her prey! Joy! He pretty much bounced across the last yards separating them and forgot to think about how she'd react. It'd be quite hard to mistake his friendly and open face for a cruel one, but a large wolf suddenly bouncing towards you? Ice was, most of the time, unaware of his size or how it might affect others. Instead, he just acted like a giant puppy. Delighted, he fell down in front of her downed elk and tore into what was left of its haunch. Only after a couple of mouthfuls did he seem to remember her, and when he looked up, blood stained his muzzle and cheeks.

"Oh, I meant to say, thank you miss! It's very kind of you to share your kill," he got out in a half-stammer, half-breathless-from-excitement-and-joy-at-eating. His tail wagged again, now that some part of his mind had returned from the initial lock-down at feeding. Ice bit his bloody lip, uncertain. He wanted to get down some more chunks, but at the same time, it was really rude of him to just eat and not talk. Dimly he remembered someone teaching him manners. He frowned again, as he was prone to do when thinking, but then he just figured screw it. For a minute or two longer he was lost in the simple but oh so important business of eating. After that, he stopped, and instead of ripping into the flesh he laid down on his full belly. He licked his lips and seemed to take great care in doing so, but his silver eyes were not vacant anymore; they were fixed on her, watching her face even though he was silent. When he, finally, decided that he was done, he tilted his head again and put his large head on the elk, but making sure to "claim" no more then half. He wouldn't take the rest of her kill, he just didn't want the carcass obscuring his view of her. He wanted to speak, but nothing came out, and in the end he opened his mouth but still only silence rolled out of it. Frowning, he finally spoke. "... I'm Ice."

Linara Warha

Linara almost felt bad that she had acted the way she did, her shy nature really took her over for a moment there. He even took the precaution of looking over his shoulder to make sure nothing was there to scare her. Did she really look that scared? She didn't think she did, however it was her body's natural reaction to other wolves and such. It was never really her fault that she was bad at expressing herself to strangers, or even warm up to those she didn't know.

After she relaxed, realizing that she wasn't is much danger with this wolf, she noticed his frame relax as well too. She noticed a small grin play on his maw and she grinned back nervously. At a closer look, this wolf was more attractive at close view. His frame was big, for any wolf. His dirty coat, she could tell was beautiful under the dirt and grime that was left from living outside, as most wolf's fur gets.

As Linara agreed to let him eat off her prey, she was suddenly surprised by the large wolf's reaction. Almost as if he was a pup again. He nearly bounded over in excitement. She was taken back by this sudden movement, and froze up, again on her toes and backed up nervously. After he plopped down in front of the elk and began to feed, she relaxed again, and while the wolf took his full share of the elk, Linara simply watched. This was not any kind of wolf, this was a giant puppy. She smirked at her own thought and watched him bury his face in the flesh of the elk, painting his near white fur a pink-ish red. He seemed to have been totally engrossed in the meal, as if he hadn't eaten in days, and as he looked up, she smiled back nervously. As he expressed his gratitude towards her for letting him feed from her kill, she nodded slightly and opened her jaw, for a moment, thinking carefully on how to respond before meekly speaking.

"M-My pleasure. You really seemed to enjoy it." She giggled a quietly. His excitment really seemed to overwhelm him. His voice stammered and seemed to trip over itself a couple of times as he spoke. She watched him think, watching the thought process almost happen in front of her as he bit is lip. His eyes were a thoughtful gray color, and really made him look like a statue for the moment he though, before he decided to take a couple more minutes on the kill. This time, Linara also ate at the kill. Timidly at first, attempting not to disturb the other wolf's seemly vital mission of devouring the elk as fast as he could. She took small careful bites, before joining him in his rather large, bites. She continued to eat quietly as she felt him lift his head from the prey finally. His generosity in only taking as much as he needed made Linara feel a bit better about this large pup. She looked up and watched him open his mouth once, then twice, and only the second time sound projected through the air and into her ever alert ears. Ice... She thought. The name was very unlike him. Althought, the color of his pelt and his eyes almost reminded her of winter, and there for the sheets of ice covering the rivers and ponds; his personality showed no evidence of ice in his heart.

Her eyes trailed up and down this wolf's face as she took another bite, examining him again. Then thinking about her own manners. How rude of her not to introduce herself. She swallowed down the piece of meat in her mouth, taking time to carefully chew and swallow, however also at the same time showing with her eyes that she was trying to resopnd. Finally, taking down the food in her throat, she took in a breath through her nose, and state quietly,

"I am Linara"

If he'd had the sense to notice her behavior, he would've noticed she seemed amused by him. And why not? He was one great pup, at times for the better, at times for the worse. He could be anything from a bounding ball of energy to a creature that retreated far back into the recesses of the mind, lurking behind a display of childish behavior. The former was okay; the latter wasn't, really. It could be potentially destructive, because it locked his mind away and put up a face of childish stubbornness. Perhaps he would grow out of such a backwards behavior, perhaps he wouldn't - there was no way of knowing until he died and his life had been lived. Only then could one trace what he'd become and all its reasons. Right now, all you could know was what is and what was; not what would be.

He barely noticed that she joined in on feeding, but when he did register it, it pleased him. He wasn't that scary after all, then. Smiling to himself, he settled and looked at her. She seemed busy processing his name, and if there hadn't been an elk in the way, he would've titled his head. Instead, he just looked at her with pale and curious eyes as she seemed to think for a long time, and took another bite. Fascinated, he watched the muscles in her jaw bugle as she chewed. The body truly was a wondrous thing, and he found himself mesmerized by the play of wind in the fur, how the light rippled and changed depending on the angles. Such small things like these could get him lost in the moment, and he did not notice how long it took for herself to give her own name. Linara. It was a pretty name, simple and elegant. "Pleasure meeting you, Linara," he said, his voice somewhat mangled by the fact that his lower jaw pressed into the elk's soft and bloody side. For a moment longer, the silence stretched as he found himself at a loss of words. Social interaction wasn't his forte, unless it came naturally - and when it did, he tended to be overzealous and impossible to shut up. Or, he just said awkward and strange things, as with Vlarindara. Remembering her and her question, he focused on Linara with his gaze.

"You're not part of any of the packs, are you?" he asked her, and despite the way the question it was formulated, there was no weight of judgement, no hint of suspicion. She smelled like herself and only herself, but one could never know. She seemed so timid though - if just seeing another rogue wolf scared her half out of her mind, from his point of view, she needed a pack. Ice didn't know much about them though and wasn't really on a path to find one, nor would he ever dream of creating one himself. He still didn't know what to do with his life.

Linara Warha

Taking a large bite from the elk, Linara looked up at the grey eyes observing her fur, seemly pretty lost in it. Her brow raised in a questioning manner, a bit amused, and curious about the wolf was thinking or even looking at. Her eyes stayed locked on to the wolf's as she tried to make out what he was looking at. She smirked slightly on one side of her maw, chewing a bit more as she realized food was still in her mouth, and swallowing it down.

The she could feel her own stomach accommodating to the large amounts of meat she was shoving down her throat. Her bites became less frequent at this, and she focused more of the wolf's movements and features, trying to match his name to he looks. He was a large puppy and there was no doubt in her mind that he wasn't. Not only was this wolf a pup, but he also had manners. She nodded in response to his formal greeting towards her and responded.

"Pleasure is mine." She spoke a little louder, almost at a normal speaking volume, but the meek and slightly nervous undertone was no longer existent. The silence struck Linara as well, and for a moment, she was lost for words. She searched for something to fill the void, and in turn took another chunk of meat from the elk. The elk was already disappearing now that she looked down at it.

Finally, Ice broke the silence with an inquiry. Her eyes looked down and she shifted a bit at it. A pack was something she was searching for at the moment, but any mention of packs really made her go back to the times in her old pack. Why did she ever leave? for her own selfish curiosity. where were they? Did they even look for her? Did anyone come after her to find her? She shook the bad thoughts out of her head and responded

"No... Not really." She took another chunk of the elk to shut herself up, although she was becoming full, and the tactic of stuffing her mouth when she got nervous would soon be eaten away - quite literally.

Ice didn't notice the way she looked him straight in the eye until he returned his straying gaze to her face - then, his steely gaze locked on hers, and for a moment, tension rippled through him. To look another straight in the eye was a challenge, and even though he was pretty certain she didn't mean it as such, he still reacted to it. He stilled noticeably, and somewhere in the back of his mind, he keened. He didn't want a staring contest, he didn't want blows and bites, but the grown part of him told the pup to shut up and be quiet while the grown-ups did their thing. However, he frowned, shading his eyes before looking aside. The pup won for now, and he sighed. Social interactions...awkward...blergh.

She replied to his courteous greeting and he actually gave a wolf's grin, lips relaxed over his teeth as his tail traced a happy arc behind him. He liked polite wolves. He liked being polite, even though he sometimes failed horribly at it. He liked trying, when he remembered to. When someone else was polite too, it made him immensely happy, and he felt like rolling over on his back and stretching out his furry belly to the sky and just being one big ball of carefree happy fluff. He didn't, though - he kept belly-down, head resting on the elk's side as Linara kept eating to fill the silence with something. At his question though, she seemed to dim, her glow faded and she replied evasively. Ice furrowed his 'brows. Either you were part of a pack, or you weren't. Simple as that. Or? Maybe? He gave voice to his thoughts. "What do you mean, 'not really', miss? Is there ever a way to not be certain?" he asked her. Another wolf might've mocked her, but he sounded sincere, genuinely confounded and confused; yet another testament to his slightly childish and strange mind. It seemed that some things were entirely lost to him, such as...tact. Depth. Sure, he had his own depths, but some things you should not poke or your nose might get bitten. If he once had learned that, he'd forgotten it now.

Linara Warha

Noticing the wolf's awkward tension and reaction to her eye contact, Linara scolded herself. She always forgot her manners when trailing off and thinking. Always making eye contact. In her family, eye contact was not an intimidating thing, unless it was an aggressive movement, in which Linara would avert her eyes, but in such situations as laying down and sharing a meal, she would enjoy watching the other wolf's facial expressions. She following his sigh, she would sigh as well,. She felt the akward tension in the air and she opened her maw slightly to speak.

"S-Sorry...""It's a matter of the past..." She would solidly state. She would sigh, hating the new tension again slowly entering the air with her solemn response. She hated the feeling of the tension and tried to push it away with yet another bite of the elk, but it did nothing back push her into an uncomfortably full feeling. She growled at the elk for not doing much good and lifted her head up from the elk's now gaping side. Unsure what to say, she paused, her eyes tracing nothing at first, looking for something to break the tension; but found nothing. After a moment, she looked up at the large wolf and smirked slightly, trying to look friendly at least to break it.

Ah, blessed be awkward socialization! Two awkward wolves meant awkward times awkward. Ice kept his eyes on something else, alternating between the elk carcass and the forest around them. Silence stretched between them and Ice frowned ever so slightly before she mumbled out an explanation. He raised one 'brow and gave her a quizzical look over the dead body, but then looked aside again. "I shan't ask, then," he said, pleased that he - for once - had understood when someone did not want to talk of something. Ice could be a bit of a bulldozer otherwise and just keep asking until someone hit him, and then he didn't understand at all why he'd been punished and was likely to assume it was because he talked at all. Smiling somewhat to himself he kept looking around them but when his gaze brushed across Lin's face again, she was smirking. Somewhat surprised, he paused to look at her muzzle. "What ya smirking at?" he asked her, half-curious, half-playfulannoyed. Then, without waiting for an answer, he put his bloodied cheek against the carcass' side and slowly rolled his large frame over on the side and half onto his back. Once there, he stretched all four feet out as far as he could, before allowing them to fall down to the soft earth.

Aah, much better. Linara was the weirdest mix of submission and accidental dominance, so he guessed it didn't matter too much if he laid down. It was doubtful if they'd meet again anytime in the near future, because he was going somewhere and likely she was too. The chance of them going to the same place was slim, but not nonexistent. Yawning, Ice showed off rows of stained and worn fangs, before snorting slightly and shuffling a little to better cozy up to the dead thing. As long as he didn't sleep here for two days, he should be fine and not start to rot himself. "Feeding commands sleeping," he said lazily, thumping his tail once on the ground. They connected with a thud. "But it'd be rude to fall asleep on ya, miss." He licked his lips to the best of his ability while his head remained on the dead elk, and then blinked drowsily. It wouldn't be too good to sleep on your prey either, but right now he didn't feel like moving. Tired he may be, asleep he was not, not yet; every once in a while his eyes would drift to her, to show that he was awake, and listening. To fall asleep in the middle of a conversation with a lady - well, it just didn't do!
