The marshy ground was spongy beneath his heavy paws. As much as the male may have tried to wash her scent from his pelt, the tinge of her blood still remained and Valiant saw red. For days, he had been letting his rage build and now he couldn’t contain it anymore. The scene was set, they were far enough away from the hollow, he was somewhere nearby and the silvery wolf paced restlessly. He could call out, as the higher ranked wolf, it would be a bad idea for Jedd to disobey, but then he would loose the advantage of surprise.

A veteran of battle, he was rarely the one to get worked up and attack first, usually bearing the brunt of others grudges and fighting back with equal force after the first snap had closed. A small bitter smirk painted his handsome face. So this was what it felt like to be on the dealing end? It felt good... He was prepared, and his adversary was not.

The reeds rustled and parted to make way for the silvery giant, but he contributed little more noise than the wind. He was stalking now, hunting. Not for food, but for revenge. The wolf was a coward, it had been shown, but he would not run this time. Finn was a sweet wolf, why would anyone attack her? And finally his target came into sight, there, oblivious. Approaching from the darker wolfs left side, purely by coincidence, his muscles bunched and propelled him through the rushes and reeds, jaws parted to reveal white teeth intent on finding a mark on a chunk of the other wolfs neck or shoulder.

Relaxation and peace is all he wanted, but it seemed nearly impossible
to obtain. He was lingering around the marsh, exploring this fascinating
land. It was quiet, and mosquitoes swarmed about the stagnant pools of
water. With a sigh, the massive brute was about to seat himself until some-
thing- no, someone, smashed into his side.

The sharp sting of flesh being torn rippled through his left shoulderblade.
With a furious snarl, Jedd tossed his head, jaws snapping at the flank of
the wolf who was attacking him. He hoped he would make contact, for whom
ever this was had taken him by surprise, and he did not take kindly to such an
action.

Through his snaps, the wolf growled words "Surprise attack?" his large
ivory fangs clicked together through the air and continually at the flank of
Valiant. "Pathetic." his pale eyes grew hasty, a blood lust soon covering
them in a film of hatred. The scent of the wolf entered his nose, and he recognized
it as one of the wolves that was at Fireweed Rise. Great. He would never be left
alone, it seemed.

The satisfying taste of metallic blood entered his mouth with the tug of tearing flesh. For once his brain was cold, calculating. His initial rage had simmered now, and all he had was a task. If he couldn’t kill the other wolf he would do his best to teach him a lesson he wouldn’t forget. He hadn’t been able to find Finn since the brown wolf had slunk back mysteriously damp in the night, little but a tell-tale fleck of forgotten blood on his forehead and he could only assume the worst. The thought only served to fuel his need to tear his adversary limb from limb. Nobody should go around attacking someone so nice, especially not someone so nice that he was fond of.

The resounding click of teeth seeking his flank pulled another tug from the silvery brute in an attempt to tear the flesh some more. As Jedd’s teeth found their mark, tearing his hide close to his existing scar from a similar run in with Naira, he released his desperate grip on the other mans shoulder and turned to aim his own ivory fangs for an ear or an eye. Destroying either would bring him amazing satisfaction, although he doubted it would be enough to lessen his drive to tear this wolf limb from limb. He would then swing the bulk of his form around in an attempt to wrap his forelimbs about the other males neck to try and force him to the ground or at least gain a more substantial height advantage. They were close to matched in size, but Valiant felt he had more experience on his side having fought regularly during his more active cassa nova days. That he was still alive was a testament to that.

If you want me to change anything, let me know!! :)
The air around them was growing hot; the scent of blood dominating the
scene. A terrific pang of pain stung through Jedd's deafened ear as Valiant
bit at it. Reeling his head back, Jedd avoided his whole ear from being shredded
to bits. Relief wove through him, for he was glad it was only his deaf ear that had
been bitten.

The sturdy limbs of Valiant came around now, attempting to latch onto the thick
neck of Jedd. Snarling, the male brought himself up on his hind legs, muscles
working to hoist his large frame upwards. Paws outstretched, ready to wrap around
Valiant's own neck, leaving them in a lock. Outstretching his broad head, he opened
his jaws wide to clamp onto the neck of the flocculent gray wolf infront of him.

Why the hell did this wolf want his blood so bad? Did he know Finn... did he find her?
He left her for dead, but he did not know whether or not others would find her in time.
It seemed though, that this wolf somehow....knew.

The two wolves stood locked, like a pair of bi-pedal dancers, one dark and the other pale, but there was nothing majestic or graceful about what was happening here. This was war.

Both wolves were aiming for each others necks, and their heads collided in a desperate clash*, and Valiant reevaluated his position. He had to get the other wolf down so he angled his head lower and lashed out at the very top of Jedds left forelimp. A savage twist could either dislocate or break the elbow joint, and worst case if he were successful, he could still deliver a painful bite to the area to encourage the other wolf to drop down to where he belonged.

As much as this was about worry for Finn, it was also for the dishonour the wolf had shown on his Rise that he loved so dearly. The other wolfs cowardice had tainted his place of peace and now every time he returned, he only felt anger. Killing him would solve that he was sure. The knowledge he would never dishonour another leader, his current leader, would give him peace. This wolf was not worthy of Jaysyek’s protection, and he would not risk her suffering the same disappointment that his friend had.

A painful twisting of Jedd's front limb made him wince, and a hasty growl bubbled from his throat. His eyes glared down at the silvery wolf as he attempted to mangle his left front leg. Brows furrowing, Jedd reached his head downward, jaws opened wide. He attempted to bite down upon Valiant's shoulderblades, which was the only option he had at this point. The horrible pain was shooting like an arrow through his limb, and the adrenaline began to flow even more rapidly through his body. It did a feeble attempt as to numb his pain, though.

It was a lovely day, but in the marsh? Not so much his favorite place for a tussle. As the wolves fought, the sponge-like ground beneath them held their weight, releasing water as their paws pressed down upon it. The damp scent of the land around them filled his nostrils, mixing within the scents of his own blood. He closed his eyes for a moment, hoping that his strike on Valiant would be successful...

He could feel the feeble attempts at bites on his rolling shoulders and while they did find their mark and open his flesh, he was not letting go of the piece of Jedd he held. Shaking ferociously he continued to try and cause some sort of permanent injury, or at least something to debilitate the wolf for long enough that he could get a hold of something more fatal.

The sudden realisation his weight could be used to his advantage struck like a bolt of lightening. Although they were similar in build, he was attacking from below, while Jedd was aiming for whatever he was presented above and so without warning or releasing his hold, he unlocked his paws from about the other wolfs neck and dropped, not just to his paws but to a bow, ears straining for the sickening crunch that should come. If that were the case he would move to disentangle himself and get clear of the injured beast.

Crraaack. Jedd felt his leg suddenly give out, and he released a surprised snarl, his fangs baring with the blood of Valiant. As the massive brute fell downward, he snapped at Valiant's side as the large man moved away from him. With a thud, the black-gray wolf hit the ground. He released a loud huff, pain obvious in his eyes. Biting his tongue now, he struggled to raise his frame upward on his remaining three paws, especially with such pain of his now fractured or broken limb.

He felt so light now. Adrenaline was holding him up, but he felt as if he was in a dream. Eyes narrowed at Valiant, a hatred burning within his chest. He teetered forth, struggling to maintain his balance, but somehow, he managed to stay standing. Jaws parted and he began to pant now, a reaction to the trauma that had just occurred. Come on Jedd growled in his head You son of a bitch... Hell, he didn't even know this wolf's name or why exactly he was after him...

Val is so mean D:

An unexpected bite tore at his previous scar from a run in with Naira and reopened the wound. While it had been all but healed the skin was still thin and new and a snarl of his own matched Jedd’s, although a cocky smirk crossed his face with the realisation his pain was nothing compared to the pain the other wolf must be feeling. He was on his way to tearing the mangy dog limb from limb.

Angling his body towards Jedd injured left side he charged with plans of knocking the three legged wolf to the ground, after all, it should be far easier that doing it to one with four. He had his jaws open, trained on the already injured leg to deliver another painful jerk if he found his mark. Blood was dripping from the tear in his flank and staining his pale fur pink. The wounds on his shoulders were running in tracks and gave him the image of a painted warrior.

Should he just end the other wolfs misery now? No. He was going to drag this out.

Valiant was charging him now, and Jedd had to think fast. He could not move swiftly, for it pained him something fierce to do so. He would have to take this blow as best as he could. Tightening his muscles for impact, Jedd soon felt the bloodied body of Valiant collide with his. Once more, the jaws of the wolf went to wrap onto his fractured limb. Before the silvery wolf's head went beneath him, though, Jedd crane d his own head downward, jaws opened and snapping near Valiant's head (perhaps his ear)- he hoped for some impact, for whatever outcome this battle was to provide, he wanted to leave Valiant with scars from him.

The scent of blood was now overpowering. Jedd's nose wrinkled as the large man made contact once more with his weakened leg. Shit he hissed in his mind, but not making a peep on the outside. He did not want to give this bastard any sick satisfaction. Take the blow. It's all you can do. At this point, the pain was so intense, Jedd just wanted to drop his leg off and leave it at that.
