Mist
ooc: Keep in mind that I don't intend on having Mist shot...so if you could please put all weapons back on safety. Thanks.

ic:
<font style='margin-left:20px;'> <i>Rustle rustle.</i></font>
<font style='margin-left:20px;'>Mist stopped dead in her tracks, one paw lifted off the ground, ears pointed forward, eyes fixed in the direction of the sound. Whatever had made that sound was small, and more than likely insignificant...but Mist was longing for entertainment and distraction. Moments later, a white blur darted from behind the bush. The she-wolf was quick to react, breaking into a sprint after it. She weaved carefully through every obstacle, wind rushing in her face, and left behind every emotion of doubt and humiliation only to be replaced by the shallow excitement of the chase. </font>
<font style='margin-left:20px;'> The rabbit apparently was faster than she was. This made Mist unreasonably angry. The rabbit slowly shrunk farther and farther away. Fury ignited inside of her, she viciously barked after it. Soon she wasn't even chasing the sight : just the sound of the hare's feet hitting the ground floor. Before she knew it, she wasn't really chasing anything at all...she realized she was, in fact, running away. </font>

<font style='margin-left:20px;'>Running away from what? She loved the idea of this new pack, but she would never fit in. She was destined to be alone... That's what she'd done best all her life, what was she thinking? Mist wasn't paying attention to where she was going, she just knew she had to <i>run.</i> Her carelessness caused her to ignore a tree root, causing her to fly face first into the dirt. </font>
<font style='margin-left:20px;'> She let out an uncontrollable yelp as she hit the ground. She struggled to get back up, but as soon as she was on her feet, she noticed that she was in completely foreign territory. </font>
<font style='margin-left:20px;'> <b>'What have you done this time, Mist?"</b> she barked at herself.. She was quite used to talking to herself...and probably wouldn't break the habit anytime soon. Mist slowly began to walk forward, she was actually quite lost. She had no idea how to get back...but she had a nasty feeling that she needed to as quickly as possible. Maybe she should howl...like that one Keegan wolf had done when he was lost? It was worth a try... </font>

<font style='margin-left:20px;'> The wide-eyed wolf jerked her head in every direction, observing the unknown territory a few more times in hopes of recognizing some sort of feature. No luck. She sat down, tilted her muzzle upwards, and let out a long, loud howl.</font>

Kegan Richie
Kegan had heard Mist's howl, and her scent, He followed it quietly like a sniffer dog. <b>'What is Mist doing over here?, she must be surely be lost?'</b> Kegan thought to himself while he was searching for her, finally, he had found her, but Kegan had tried not to get lost, but it was hopeless trying not to when he was looking for someone who was lost. Then, he found the silvery female wolf that was just around bout the same age as him, but why did she wander off so carelessly? <b>"Mist, what are you doing here, You're lost, right? I hope we're not".</b>

He wandered silently, waiting for an answer from the shy female, but he already knew the answer, now they were both lost, away from the place they were supposed to be. Kegan wasn't surprised that they might get in trouble for strolling off carelessly somewhere, and a great help Kegan was for getting lost himself.

Mist
<font style='margin-left:20px;'>She heard something coming. She spun around to face the direction of the noise, eyes widening with anticipation. It was another wolf...the scent was familiar. The sound and scent began to get closer and stronger. As soon as his face appeared, she recognized the golden eyes. It was Kegan, the wolf who had joined Poison Path with her. </font>
Turns out he was lost, now, too..
<font style='margin-left:20px;'>{i}'Deja vu..'[/i[ Mist thought to herself, thinking of when Kegan showed up at the lake. Now was not the time for jokes, though. It was nice of him to come find her, but he proved to be little help considering he was just as new to this territory as she was. </font>
<font style='margin-left:20px;'><b>"I...I was chasing something, and..I don't know. I don't know how I got here."</b> she responded, her voice trembling slightly. She hadn't even caught the damn rabbit and now what? Having ran so far, having taken so many twists and turns, she didn't have any idea how to get back to the lake, or to the entrance of her pack's territory. She couldn't just sit there, though. She began walking in a random direction with a flick of her tail, gesturing Kegan to follow. </font>

Note to self: setting this /before/ Vafri. Subject to change depending on things.

<blockquote>It had been the howl to first alert Marsh to the fact that something was amiss. It had been perfectly and utterly unexpected, a sharp sound that had broken through his unusually peaceful morning. The fact that it belonged to an unknown wolf struck him first, and then its shameless volume next. Whoever it was did not mind announcing their presence to absolutely everyone.

His first assumption was that it must be an obnoxious loner seeking one of the leaders, for the call had not been for anybody specific. It did seem very close, though... surely whoever-it-was was not already within the borders? With a heavy sigh, Marsh got to his feet (cutting short the rest that had only been minutes long) and turned to prowl in the call's direction.

He was not far when the scent hit him. He went from weary to enraged within 0.6 seconds.

<i>Them again.</i> And not just one, but two. There was no mistaking the stench, though, that clung to both of them, male and female, trespassers, rivals and morons both. Suddenly, the howl made no sense whatsoever - unless it was prelude to something more serious?

At once paranoid that his pack was in danger, Marsh's lope turned into a sprint, and his muzzle wrinkled and lip lifted as he charged, ready to defend his home from this brazen assault. The last thing he expected was two wolves who looked vaguely lost - but Marsh was too swept up in his anger to care much for that.

He leapt from between the trees, all snarls and rage, and made to land before them, tail and head high, teeth bared and ears pushed forward, eyes wide and unforgiving.

They had <i>one chance</i> to turn around and make the right decision before he forced it out of them, screaming. Diplomacy had had no place that night by the river, and it certainly had no place now.</blockquote>

Kegan Richie
Kegan followed Mist quietly, wondering where on earth she was going, but he didn't want to be rude and simply followed behind the silvery female.
Suddenly, Kegan smelt different wolves all over, then it hit him. They were in a pack territory, He now didn't like this, Kegan felt uneasy and stiff.<b>"Mist, we have to leave right now and fast, see we are in another pack terriotry, and we don't want anything against us."</b> Kegan didn't know that they were rivarly against three packs, they were both innocent, but clueless.

Suddenly Kegan's ears pricked up, he had heard rumbling between the trees and the bushes, then, he saw <i>it</i>, a wolf heading straight towards the pair, with eyes covered in rage and unforgiving, Kegan wondered why the wolf was at a crazy rage at them, why? Kegan didn't understand what in god's name was going on.

He stumbled backwards, unfortunately Kegan tripped on something, unknown what. They wolf was still running, alike an angry bull, the next thing Keegan was paralysed with fear as he tried to turn his head over to Mist.

Mist
<font style='margin-left:20px;'>Mist listened to what Kegan said. She hadn't even realized the mixture of scents in the air. He was right, and right as she realized it an auburn wolf had lept infront of them. She noticed Kegan stumbled out of the corner of her eye. She took a few steps back before cowering to the ground. Her first reaction was to fear the new wolf. She'd never been one to start conflicts, and had spent most of her life steering clear from others. Surely the male was stronger than her, she had reason to fear him..</font>

<font style='margin-left:20px;'><i>...if she were alone.</i> </font>
<font style='margin-left:20px;'> However, she wasn't..there were two against one. She quickly glanced at Kegan, and realized he, too, was frightened by the new arrival. Retaliation was futile, and they were, after all, trespassing. It seemed as though they were in his territory, but why were the greeted with such hostility? All these thoughts were running through her head as she stayed low to the ground. Her ears laid flat against her skull, but her eyes remained fixed on the auburn wolf. <b>"I, I think you're right Keegan..we should p-probably go,"</b> she said to Kegan as she continued to stare at the new wolf. <b>"Whatever pack we've stumbled upon is obviously not as welcoming as our own."</b>
She wasn't exactly sure what caused her to say the last part. Confidence was rarely displayed by Mist, but a spark of anger towards the seemingly unfair treatment had ignited a sense courage. She did not respect the snarling, crazy-eyed wolf that stood infront of her, but she knew it wasn't her place to fight back. </font>

<blockquote>Strikes one, two and three were all gone, just like that.

He did not care for excuses or ignorance. Idiocy was no reason for blatant trespassing. Either they were unaware of the default rivalry between their packs, or they were here deliberately - and neither encouraged his sympathy.

His leader was due to give birth any day. Who truly expected him to be merciful when, as far as he knew, these wolves were here with ill intent?

<font style='margin-left:20px;'>The larger of the two wolves stumbled back, but did not turn tail and run. Neither did the bitch he was so pleasantly strolling with, who instead saw fit to lower herself, as if submission was what he wanted, as if he <i>wanted</i> them to linger on his territory for a single moment longer.

He would see how well they submitted when they lacked tails.

The flare of indignation in her expression sealed her fate, not that diplomacy had ever been on the cards. (His single hesitation, allowing them time to flee, had been his version of diplomacy.) It did not matter that it was two on one; whatever kind of wolves Rhysis and Naira had, their were either master deceivers or cowards, for he felt no strength from either of them. That spark of resistance he had seen in her eyes would not be enough.

The snarl low in his chest, he leapt forwards again, ears back, eyes narrowed, with jaws parting and aiming for the female's insolent face.</font></blockquote>

Ice Aesir
you do not know who is your friend
or who is your enemy
until the   ICE breaks.
the spirit dies alone...

He heard the noise, the drawn-out howl, and with the recent emotional trauma he'd been forced through, it was like tossing a jar of nitroglycerine against the wall. Rage exploded through him, liquid fire running through his veins and the entire world jarred to a halt. Suddenly the trees caved in on him, leaned down, lost their shape and color and everything became a gray-black blur and the only thing he could feel was heat. As quickly as it had come, the moment passed and Ice stumbled; every breath ran ragged and hot through his throat, scorching his lungs. They had come here, again, but she wasn't with them, so there was no reason not to kill them. The ferocity and magnitude of his raw hatred surprised him, but not in the manner that cooled the roaring flames - rather, the manner that fanned them. After all the dread and insecurity and the bile in his mouth, the warmth of rage was comforting simply because it was warm. The tattered little creature that was Ice curled up inside, close to the warmth, the light, and his body knew only fury. This was a chance of retribution, redemption, for he was not at all convinced the stormy seas had been defeated.

Wasn't the fire roaring in his soul proof enough of that?

There was no more hesitation. Ice bolted from his place, heedlessly - recklessly - charging through the forest. Stones and brooks, logs and roots, they all disappeared in a blur beneath his running paws. The world lost all its familiarity, it became a place where he was a stranger, but he was too weak within to care. Each sound annoyed him, each scent was too bothersome to decode, and everything he saw wasn't what he wanted to see. It felt like burning up from inside, and in so many ways, it was worse than the night Ava had come. This was... like not knowing yourself. Wanting to kill someone you'd never met, rushing headlong to their demise; the normally cheerful and patient wolf had not a single thought to spare on mercy.

Marsh was there. He would never mistake the copper wolf's form for another. That was all he cared to see, the only detail he bothered with; Marsh lunged and Ice wondered if it'd ever stop. If he ever wanted it to stop. The next moment, Ice's white form hurtled out of the shrubbery, slavering jaws wide and pale eyes rolling - mad. A noise halfway between a shriek and a growl split his otherwise silent approach, and with an intention that spelled nothing but death he threw himself towards the trespassing male, wanting nothing less than sink his fangs into any part of his body.

For now, rage and stress had eradicated Ice.

Kegan Richie
OOC: I don't really want Kegan killed. I feel so sorry for Kegan and Mist :(

Kegan noticed the strong, auburn, Mackenzie Valley Wolf dash towards Mist's light, silvery face.<b>"Mist!".</b> he yelled, trying to get her to notice the beast that was about to wreck her face. Kegan was completely unaware of the noises in between the trees, he was too focused on the scarred wolf to listen to simple noises, but they weren't simple.

Kegan had finally noticed the light gray male until the rabid wolf was a metre away from him. The light silver male had sprang up to get his sharp fangs into Kegan's body.<b>" Oh Shi-"</b> Kegan said while trying to dodge. It was a tremendous fail. He had tried to dodge far too late. If only Mist had not howled. The wolf's teeth went straight into Kegan's shoulder blade.<b>" You bastard, what was that for!</b> Kegan yelled painfully, trying to shake the wolf of. Kegan had no intention of running away, he would not be a coward. What had happened to Mist?

Mist
It didn't take long for Mist to realize that what she had said was a huge mistake. Possibly a mistake that could cost her life. How could she have let such a shallow emotion like anger get control of her? Her heart skipped a beat as she saw the wolf lunge itself at her. His reaction was so instant and without thought, she barely had time to react. She tried to roll away, and even though her face had evaded the attack, she felt the wolf's jaws on her front, right paw. She yelped frantically. She barely even noticed the other wolf that now had attacked Kegan. What on earth had she done?

Pain radiated from her paw. How desperately she wished to run away. Tracking, hunting, and tiring her prey - these things were easy. This wolf, no doubt, had more experience than she. Her only chance was to somehow get away. This pack was obviously not friendly, and talking or apologizing was completely out of the question.

If she could just push his head into the dirt and break free of his grasp, she might have a chance to run away. Of course she'd have to make sure Kegan was safe, too. She couldn't possibly let him face the two vicious savages alone considering she was at fault for all of this.

Surely her injured paw would make it impossible to run, but if she and Kegan could make it off their territory, maybe they would let them go. Mist reacted quickly with the only plan she thought was even slightly possible. She used her other paw and began to try and claw at the wolf's eyes and push his head off. The instant she felt a release she would try to run.
