All three pups had managed to survive the horrid catastrophe that had struck the strong pack. Aeylen had saved Mirren and Vaeta, while Nina had saved the youngest son, Nios. In that small act of valor, she had once again injured her leg. The run and swimming had taken all of the strength out of her previously broken leg, and it now lay weak behind her. She had been thankful for her pack mates being there for her, but she had enough. She was the only healer in the pack and knew she couldn’t be gone for long, just in case something bad would happen to the pups. But she needed to seek advice, from the one wolf who she knew probably knew more about healing then she did. Though the two of them hadn’t had a great start, Nina trusted her knowledge and strength, and it was there that Nina was hopefully going to get her answers.
The trek had taken her a long time. . .longer than she would have wished it would have taken, and in truth, it had worn her out. She had been living off of berries and herbs for the past few days in order to get back to Willow Ridge. Sloane had promised to teach her how to defend herself, as long as she was in the best shape possible, but at the moment, she definitely wasn’t taking care of herself. Her pelt had thinned out due to the lack of meat she had been eating. Being unable to hunt for herself was a pain, but she had lived off of berries before, this wasn’t any different. She didn’t mind eating them either, even though some were bitter, she was used to the taste and smell of bitter things. The herbs she used regularly proved that enough.
Her three paws had finally taken her to their peek, thank the Gods that she had finally reached Willow Ridge’s borders. Her body collapsed a good ways away from the borders. She didn’t have to be any where near them for Elettra to hear her, she knew the large lady had good ears. With a large sigh of her own she got up on her two front paws with a pant and thrust her head to the sky, letting out a deep howl for Elettra. She was sure that the lady would know it was her, they had met twice before and Nina had spoken, much more than she would intended to. When her head lowered, she readjusted her back paw to the point to where it didn’t hurt her to sit.
She could only hope that the strong alpha would answer her call. Her face was drawn in defeat as she sat there. She felt like a weakling, going to another leader for help instead of asking Ruiko or Aeylen. But the thing was. . .she had to, and there was no other leader aside Elettra that she would have gone to for advice. Nina’s ears were pinned back and her head was lowered in thought as she waited for the noble leader. If she didn’t get an answer soon she would have to return to her home to help her leaders. When Nina turned her head around briefly to look at her coat. . .she didn’t feel presentable. Her fur was in knots and dirt covered every inch of her. . .it didn’t seem as though she could do anything about it now though. For she soon turned her head around again and watched the clearing with her one emerald eye for any signs of Elettra.
