Kamota was a fast wolf no doubt. He was faster then every wolf he'd ever met. But he hadn't been around other wolves since... the incident with the former pack he'd been in. For the first time ever, he hated being alone. He wanted a pack, a strong pack. A pack looking for amazing hunting skills he believed he had. Of course he actually had them. But he had no other wolf to support the fact. He was a loyal wolf that could not be willing to betray a pack. But would anyone believe him if he tried?

Kamota was somewhere. It appeared to be the foothills to a mountain. He continued up, his breathing became harder as he adjusted to the higher altitude of air. Less oxygen meant making every breathe could. He was raised on the Rockies near the Canada and United States borders. He could handle this. He'd handled it before hadn't he? Yes, he'd thrived there until the pack turned to chaos. It still haunted his dreams. Memories. Nightmares. Everything he did was haunted by the fact that he'd left his best friend and his pack behind.

Kamota's stamina pushed him further to move. He was becoming more nimble, more quick. Agile. Whatever anyone else called it. He knew the mountains would be dangerous. But a pack of strong wolves lived in high altitudes. He was looking for a strong pack. He was looking for a pack that could handle intruders with ease.

<blockquote>From the mountainside their Lost Lake was a sight of wonder, becoming more and more breath-taking the higher one climbed. It reflected the surrounding stones like a perfect mirror, its surface the shiniest of glass and sometimes entirely untouched by wind, providing a picture-perfect duplicate of the sky above. It was for this reason Ava actually loved the mountains more than she did the valley in which Poison Path resided. Up here it was entirely wild and free in a way the forest was not. The trees were sparse and tall and non-threatening. They rarely provided cover or shade for the wolf on the move. Down there on the other side of the mountain, where the rest of the packs lived, it was easy to imagine evil lurking in every shadowy twist and turn, behind the clustered trees and tall grasses. Oh, there were places to sneak about on the mountain, of course. But the technique was something only those of her pack seemed to master. It took time and time again to manage the art.

It was for that reason that Ava spotted the lone wolf so easily. His scent was carried to her on the high altitude's air and its intrustion on her nostrils quickly changed her route from leisurely stroll to investigation. Black tail rising like the Poisoned banner behind her she set off, loping quickly to find the stranger. He was far, far away from their actual den - and yet she felt oddly protective over the foothills that lead to their valley... and her sunning rock in Riddle Heights, and the Outcrop, and all of the Mountain of Dire. The way Ava liked to play it, she was Queen of these rocks - and that was exactly the way she would display herself.

It did not take long to discover the male. He stuck out like a sore thumb against the pale grey canvas. He climbed suprisingly quickly for a wolf so high up. He was either mountain-raised or he'd been playing on the rocks for weeks now. Without hesitation the black woman strode forward, coming to cross directly in front of his path. She left plenty of room between there bodies - more than five wolves' lengths - just in case he, for some reason, didn't think it wise to stop truckin' onward at her presence. Cloaked in the shadow of the night she was an obvious stand-out, her violent amber eyes shining through a dark mask as she drank the sight of him in. He smelled like nothing familiar. Was he absolute fresh blood, like she was when Rhysis had found her? How exciting.

The fact prompted a mischevious grin as she considered her options. It <i>had</i> been a while since Ava had had any fun... Lifting her chin in the air she fashioned herself with a cocky little expression and mused in a bird's chirp tone, "<b>Password?</b>"</blockquote>

"Password?" The words echoed in his ears as he skidded to a halt. "I have no password, but wish to register." He said simply. He already knew Tlarx. The alpha male, met him and that strange fae a while back, but those were the good old days right? Naw, they had just happened. "I met Tlarx in the mountains a short while back." He gave a simple explanation. His eyes enotionless.

He, in a way, studied the faes reactions to his every word. Odd how they seemed to be a bit tense. A flashback haunted him. Kamota was born to a pair of Lone Wolves. Suspected to be the 'runt' of the litter compared to his massive siblings. He was looked down upon and shunned by his siblings and sometimes his father too. No matter what he did, it was never good enough. It infuriated him. When he was about a year old, ad his parents had finished teaching the survival basics, he left, ran away with not a simple good-bye. It was too painful for him to have to face them with a good-bye. Even being the runt, he loved his parents and siblings and they loved him back. He continued forward, finding a pack called Lemon Sears. Odd name he'd never encountered, he joined and learned the ways of the pack. One day, a brush fire killed the alphas and they're pups and seconds who tried to help them. A fight for power commenced and Kamota was unwillingly sucked into the fight. He left the pack in fear of being killed and continued on, he left at the age of two years. Exactly one year after leaving his family and 9 months after he joined the pack. He then entered the majestic Relic Lore to begin a new life. Looking for a pack. His new journey.

<blockquote>Ava watched the male's sudden halt with a vague interest behind her amber stare, her tail flickering meagerly as he made a pun off her cheeky comment. It would've been all well and good, had he not chosen to name drop and give her a blank stare. "<b>Tlarx, hm?</b>" The coal-pelted female responded in a low tone. Athena's mate was still quite the mystery to her. She loved that tiny white she-wolf with all her red heart and yet she still could not accept the grey-backed male with his entirety. Knowing him was not enough to put this stranger in her good graces, and his absolute lack of manners was of no help either.

Some light appeared to leave the male's eyes, as if it could any further with that deadened stare he'd fixed her with. Impatiently she leaned forward and snapped her teeth, a decisive click to shake him from his day dream and perhaps also awaken him to the force that was standing before him. "<b>Knowing the higher-ups is a good thing if you're interested in joining the pack,</b>" she said, the bite of venom clear behind her crisp tone. "<b>I would recommend a little more of a show of respect, though, in case you happened to run into the Second in command and founding member of the pack before finding your shoe-in.</b>"

Of course she was not a wolf who could not back her words. Easily she lifted her head further, dark tail standing stiffly above her back. For too long had she felt powerless in her own world - her loved one far away with another allegiance, trying to raise an abandoned child, a best friend whose transitions made her rather unavailable, an alpha male she still did not know much about. It was a fickle and haughty thing to demand, that the male's posture show some slack and that his tail touched the stone ground, but at the very least it was one thing Ava knew she could demand. And besides, if this was her future packmate, he ought to know who's chin to lick right from the get-go.</blockquote>

"I would recommend a little more of a show of respect, though, in case you happened to run into the Second in command and founding member of the pack before finding your shoe-in." Shit, Kamota realized that she was second in command a second to late. My apologies Miss, I am Kamota Laylani." He said dipping his head in respect. "Could I perhaps speak to one of your alphas about joining Poison Path?"

Kamota waited for a response. Something didn't feel right, was the fae upset with having the possibility of another pack mate. Or was she upset with Tlasrx. She just seemed a bit off to Kamota. Whatever it was, Kamota was sure she would work it out. He was not to dominant one here. He showed it with that bow of respect, his tail lowered and his ears down too.

Rounds. It was something he had found himself doing quite often now a days. It felt as though he were doing the same thing every day. Wake up, do rounds, go to sleep, repeat. Only on some occasions would he stop to speak to a pack mate, and when he did, it was quite rare. He head recently got to meet young Belladonna though, what a nice soul she had been. His ears twitched while he was in thought as his massive paws made their way towards the lake, the wind teasing him slightly. And when they finally stopped its teasing the scent of another filled his nostrils. Ava. . .and another. His roughened paws scaled up the short hill until he was behind his pack mate. His now equal since the other idiot who was second disappeared. Though, it did not shock him considering how ashamed he must have been after being defeated by Tlarx.

Her nose pressed against Ava’s side in greeting before he took his place by her side, his green eyes flashing, ears pricked and tail wagging slowly behind him. "Having fun without me now, Ava?" His voice was slightly teasing, but his face remained completely serious. His eyes roamed over the male in front of him, his protective demeanor clear. He had not heard any previous words and so Ash asked in a gruff, deep voice, "What is it you seek?"

For now they were in the care of the babysitter and she was able to clear her thoughts and get fresh air. Now that the pups were older, she wasn’t restricted to the den like she was before. She was embracing her newly found freedom, but she wasn’t going to be alone for this trip.

The voices were easily heard as she made her way on her beaten trail. The scents of Ash and Ava hung in the air nearby as well as another’s. Male and a loner. Neither of her seconds has called for Tlarx are her yet, but she was going to go investigate anyway. Her dominate demeanor wouldn’t go unnoticed as she approached the threesome. The Leader stopped besides her dark friend, Ava, but her fiery eyes were directed on the male before them. She had heard the male request Tlarx or her and the mention of Poison Path before she had made her full appearance. How he knew of Poison Path was unknown to her. “How do you know of Poison Path?” She inquired, her voice calm yet commanding.

Kamota was suddenly confused. First of all, another came into view. Asking if Ava was having fun without him, then asking what he was seeking. then another female, appearing more dominant asking how he'd discovered Poison Path. So he answered in accordance to dominance, with a respectful bow. <b>"I met Tlarx up in the Mountain of Dire, along with another female, Narimé, but he said if I am ever looking to talk or for a pack, to seek him out here."</b> He stated, complete honesty in his voice. He wasn't one to lie. Especially to one of a pack he was looking to join. <b>"So I came here looking to join."</b> He added to answer Ash's question.

His amber eyes asking one question, could he join, but his eyes emotionless at the same time. He wanted to ask with his eyes, but he would not. No, he couldn't ever. So he kept them emotionless. It would be faster, quicker for him if he was rejected like he was from every other pack he attempted to join. <b>"I can hunt, pretty well for my old pack, though many here can hunt, I'm never sure if I'm considered good here in the Lore."</b> He said calmly. His eyes flashing.

It had not been unexpected of him to see his strong leader come upon them. He too had noticed the currencies of her border markings. His ears folded back as she approached and he dipped his head in respect to his leader. He was highly fond of her (not romantically) and would do everything in his power to stand by her side and protect her. When she came face to face with the loner, Ash’s face remained cool and as she greeted the man in a monotone he kept his face natural, as if turning invisible. A ward to protect Athena and Ava from evil. He was their body guard now and he silently took his place behind Athena, his green eyes glued on the stranger. Ash called this, being there without being there.

He was physically and mentally there but it would seem as though he was not, but in another place. . .when he really wasn’t. His ears pricked and now he was frozen as he lifted to the exchange. His was not intimidated by this male. Though he looked slightly older than him, he knew it was nothing he couldn’t handle, having another man beneath him. His own question was answered, but Ash might have all as well ignored the answer, for he offered up no reply. His ears were ready for Athena’s response though. How was she going to respond to this while the pups were still learning?

<blockquote>A mild blink was all the reaction Ava provided this stranger - <i>Kamota</i> - following his apology. A minor twinge of satisfaction resonated within her chest as the male finally lowered his ears and tail, respecting her position exactly the way she had desired it. Yet before Ava could come up with some other witty quip for her possible packmate-to-be, a familiar scent wafted in on a delicate breeze and she held her tongue. Ash arrived within moments, as expected, and she leaned into his touch for just a moment to solidify their presence as the high-ranking wolves of Poison Path. Her fierce gaze slid smoothly from Kamota to Ash, allowing a crooked smirk to grace her jaw as he teased. "<b>Sometimes I just can't resist,</b>" the night-cloaked female tossed back.

Ash's position was relatively new, and yet she had some time before come to terms with his presence among her family. He'd made a promise to protect, and serve, and thus far had not reniged from his deal - and now he had the fruits to show for it. Though it was not her victory, Ava still felt some of the glory in that, finally, they were rebuilding. A backbone she could trust. With such a thing once more within her grasp her amber stare fell somewhat coldly upon newcomers - no fuck-up would be tolerated now. She would not let something so golden be tarnished so soon.

Of course, what fun was a party for two? Athena's arrival came not unexpectedly, though Ava received her leader and friend gratefully. Lowering her head she would touch the underside of her white leader's jaw - she did not forget who was in charge no matter how boastful she slung her words.

With such a party now displayed before the stranger it seemed his words came more bountifully. With a vague interest she would raise her head - so he could hunt, that so? Her reign over the hunters had been long but rather uneventful. There were not many of her kind that came to join her and a companion would be a lovely addition to her usual scouts and patrols and vermin pick-ups. But this was yet only a possiblity and Ava remained stoic and unyielding. The three of them, she knew, put up an impressive front. Probably off-putting, even, for those with quivering self-esteems. Oddly enough she was somewhat excited to see if Kamota could with-stand their triple stare, and to see what Athena wrote for the verdict.</blockquote>
