Jessie Tainn
Her request was accepted and no later after that did Arlette appear by her side, a small small tugging at the corner of her lips as her friend came into view. None the less, the subordinate raised herself slightly taller than the girl, bumping her muzzle along the other's jaw in a friendly manner. When the younger girl made her own request known to their alphas, Jessie was pleased with the result. The Huntress was sure that Corinna, the pups, and her could help with the diversion, but she couldn't help the small smile that appeared on her face at the pup's eagerness to help Triell, she remembered when she had been at that point of life and distinctly remembered how she had to wait until her third hunt until she had been able to take down a wild beast, and even now she wasn't as good as it as she could have been.

The thoughts did not matter to her now though, and she easily pushed them aside as Corinna beckoned them, following the trail that she had worked so hard to find when it had been slightly warmer than it was now. The gray woman's attentive gaze watched their surroundings carefully, having already gone down the path that she walked down. Glad that she could aid her family in more way than one. She crouched near Corinna now, her ear slightly flickering towards her in correspondence to what her alpha had said. She waited for any signal from the mother, but none came and Jessie was ready when Cori sprang up from her spot, Jessie got on her heels, flaking the woman on her side. Snapping at any that came near her or any of Corinna's blind spots, she narrowed her gaze onto the mother and cow that was heading right where the pack wanted them. Satisfied with this, the huntress narrowed her approach down to the young calf, realizing that her alpha was pushing the mother away from its young. Confident that she would be safe, the woman kept a safe distance away, snapping at the calf and pushing it towards where Triell and Arlette's hiding spot was, hoping that they would emerge soon and help finish the job.

When it gets cold outside
It was hard to ignore the layer of anxiety that settled in the pit of her stomach. She wasn't about to ask different, and followed Triell trying not to think imagine all that could go wrong. He was confident, and she tried to find comfort he was large, likely having done this a lot more. Only, she wished the feeling would rub off on her. At least she had some time to mentally prepare herself before the moment of truth came.

Waiting, her ears were drawn upward, her white body pressed into the snow. It was the clear signs of panicked caribou, Lettie slowly raised her head to see what was unfolding. There was mother and calf headed there where. Yellow eyes glanced at the boys half worried, but she braced herself, knowing soon she would have to jump from the drift and toward Corinna's target.

With wide eyes, she counted its stride, and kept Triell's words in mind. Let him have the first bite. By this she knew he must mean the kind where there was little intention to let go. If he did this, she felt if needed she would add one of her own death grips. Her attention was upon the calf. Where she thought the young would slip by Jessie, Sceral, and Serach were pushing it forward too. There came a slim moment she debated. Should she simply jump at the calf ready to kill it, or nip at the mother? Exchanging a brief glance with the dark male, she felt his silent answer. The dam was closer, larger, and likely the calf would not get too far.

It was with a long breath her muscles grew rigid, and the seconds began to drag. Soon as the moment came for action, she reacted quickly, relying upon her instincts she jumped from her crouch, and her muzzle fell upon the caribou's left shoulder. In surprise the caribou attempted to rear, but the pale lady jerked once, then quickly released with blood upon her tongue hoping that might have been enough for Triell to grab. Knowing, she was not attached she forced herself to move sideways from any more thrashing of hooves. Untouched, she quickly shoved off aiming another nip to the prey's stomach. It was a fast snap, pulling off more hair than flesh, but it helped to keep the caribou's attention split.

Triell Tainn
Okay I'm thinking about done. Woo :D
But I'm too young to worry
Orange-yellow eyes stretched across the white, he watched the hunt officially begin. Everything started all right, but he was holding his breath when Serach had fallen. Even though there were no large caribou around, seeing the lad hurt in any way would out due any success. It didn't seem to slow the boy, he quickly righted himself and continued to follow Corinna with a strong determination. Triell felt he was watching a much smaller version of Ice. This sparked a grin to the Uncle's face, as well as hearing the brothers voices added to the fray. They were doing just fine. Then Sceral fell, and Triell winced, freezing his paws in place. The younger Aesir was as tough as his parents, he too stood, and continued driving now mother and calf.

Two targets. Feeling Arlette's gaze upon him, he met her yellow stare, seeing the question. What should she do? The dark man eyed the dam, that would be the one to feed them all. It was far more important. While he may recall how the female Eek had been upset about the young rabbit being killed Triell hoped in some way they could get both. It seemed rather cruel to kill its mother and leave it. With the rest of the herd long thinned out, would it get far without her? Wouldn't a quick death be better than it wandering, and starving? Yes, in time like this it was better to be logical than sentimental.

Crouched down, he was anticipating when to grab the cow. They were almost here, and beside him the white wolf too was ready to strike. She made the first move, swiftly reaching her target he presumed from the other side. It was only seconds after Arlette, Triell launched himself at the caribou's exposed throat. It was with a violent jerk, using his weight, the power of his jaws he attempted to pull the creature downward, squeezing its tender pipes into a deadly clamp. While the creature would try to jerk, attempt to throw front hooves into him, it was no good with a wolf on her throat, and others flanking around. A hoof could be felt against his chest, while it stung it was not a powerful strike. Still she struggled with her last energy, lifting the front of his body upward with her in a final attempt. Another twist, blood began to fill his mouth. Still he did not let go, and would not until he felt her life began to dwindle, her body go limp.

Corinna Donata
Eee, sorry guys. >.< I left before I had a chance to reply. Let's say leave it up for another week and then archive it?

Gone Tomorrow

Truth be told, Corinna lost track of her pack around her. The heat of the moment and the sound of adrenaline pumping through her veins was enough to completely distract her from everything else. It was for the better - having seen her sons tumble and fall during the chase would have distracted her from her goal. With many mouths relying on her focus to be fed, she could not afford any distraction. So despite the chaos around her, the pack's matriarch did not veer from her course. Her jaws were parted, saliva falling to the ground while ferocious snarls rose to the sky. The fur along her spine stood up and the air was filled with the pungent smell of fear. The cow knew that her time had come, and though she would run, she would not last to see the day's end.

Snapping wildly, the Oak Tree Bend wolves were able to successfully separate the young beast from its mother. The bleats and the desperate cries, however, did not arouse sympathy from the hunters. Out of the snow came Triell and Arlette, full and ready to attack. It was over far too quickly, after that. Corinna lunged at the cow's flank, her teeth grabbing into the flesh and into the muscle. The caribou stumbled and fell, the combined weight of the wolf pack too much for it to handle. Doomed to death, the cow gave up one last defense - a flailing hind leg that hit Corinna square in the shoulder. Thrown off by the sharp kick, the pack leader fell into the snow, her snarls quickly replaced by whines of pain. The throbbing was immediate, and when she rose from the snow to walk towards the kill, she stumbled - unable to put weight on her left leg. Once upon a time, Indru had torn the muscle in her shoulder during a fight. That had hurt, but this was far worse. Nothing seemed to be broken, but it would be hell to walk in the snow while the muscles healed.

Gritting her teeth, Corinna grunted before sitting slumped in the snow. "Go on, eat," she urged. "I'll be fine soon enough." After their feast, they could cache the rest. Winter was well and truly upon them, and who knew when they would be able to feast again.

Serach Donata

Serach was tired. More tired than he had ever been in his entire life, but he couldn't stop now. The backside of the youth caribou was burned into his brain, and his body was instinctively reacting to the chase. Saliva flew out of his mouth, splattering in the snow as he ran, and his stomach growled an angry chorus of hunger. But the caribou was always just one leap ahead, and it seemed that the others had drawn their attention elsewhere. Serach had seen his mother chase after the larger caribou, but he had thought that was just to separate the pair. It seemed the pack had not been unified in their thinking, and when Triell and Arlette burst from hiding, it was not to help Serach, Sceral, and Jessie tackle the younger of the two caribou. Seeing this, Serach stopped, panting in the snow as he fought to catch his breath even as his prey scampered away through the snow. Angrily, the older Aesir looked to the flurry of activity surrounding the mother caribou. Without hesitation, he sprang into action and towards the fray, determined to be a part of this and remedy his mistake.

His nips and bites were not as strong as that of his elders, but the taste of blood was just the same. Serach had circled and had attacked at the mother's back, tearing away at her spine while his family attacked her elsewhere. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the blow that sent his mother flying through the snow, but instinct overrode his concern and he refused to let go until he saw the others do so as well. Only then did he release the battered and torn muscle and sinew he had forcefully pulled from behind her thick skin. The cub was hungry, though, so he wasted no time picking up his prize and devouring it in joy. Blood covering his muzzle, he looked up to grin at the others, only then remembering that his mother had been injured.

Picking up the tough piece of hide that he had torn it away, he carried it to Cori. Setting it before his mother, he woofed proudly, tail wagging eagerly above his back as he awaited his praise for a job well done. She seemed okay, and her reassuring licks to his bloody muzzle was enough to reassure him it was so. Barking in ecstatic joy, he bounded back towards the kill, playfully jostling his brother aside as the Oak Tree Bend wolves tore into their prize and filled their bellies.
