Marqi Kep
Drumming, the pounding of her heart was all she felt as her legs carried her. Her body feeling numb from cold and exhaustion. She'd survived off of herbs and small prey until now...but it was time to fill herself.

Marqi kept her head low and sped over the frozen earth as fast as her wounded feet could take her. When she reached a wall of brambles, however, she skidded to a halt and thought it best to survey the area. Her ears flicked in every direction, her eyes darting about as she lowered herself further to the ground. All she could hear was the drumming, and feel the twisting and biting of her starved innards. But then, a faint scratching, kicking of dirt was heard.

Creeping forwards with her tail and head low, her eyes lit up when she finally spotted the hare. It's head would be hers for the taking. When the hare returned to it's digging Marqi dragged forward further, continuing this odd hunting dance. And then, she leapt far into the air, arching her body and bringing her forepaws down directly on the rabbit's spine. A sickening crack was heard and a loud high pitched screaming not long after from the hare. Mercifully, Marqi picked the hare up by the neck and shook it until the screeching ceased. Satisfied with her hunt, she resolved to take a moment to lick her aching feet before eating, curling her body around her prey, she set to doing just that.

Pacem Hervok

The boy was quite content with taking to another day of exploration in concentration on noticing things about other packs and other wolves nearby. He could imagine the face of his mother if he returned with some sort of top secret plan involving one wolf or perhaps a pack. His mother would be so proud of him! It was the sound of running that had brought his attention to a particular piece of land just outside the borders. The smaller wolf crept up along the bush line nearby as she watched the woman run at a small rabbit full speed. The woman launched herself into the air as Pacem took notes on what to do. When Marqi landed there was a sickening crack that Pacem could only associate with the death of the prey.

The woman before him looked beat up and exhausted. She looked nearly starved to death and so Pacem considered not introducing himself for fear she might attack out of protectiveness over her prey. He was willing to take the risk, knowing that if anything happened to the crowned prince by another wolf then that wolf would pay the price dearly - perhaps with their head if his mother had caught on to it. He slowly peaked out, beginning to speak in a soft tone. "Hello there Miss! I am Pacem Hervok, Prince of Secret Woodlands. That was an impressive kill!" He figured that starting things off with a compliment would help ease conversation into their little interaction that they had going on. The jet black pup kept a cool smile on his face as he awaited the loner's words. If she was looking for a pack then perhaps he could call for his mother @Nina or perhaps he could call for @Koda.

Marqi Kep
Feeling satisfied with her cleanliness, Marqi leaned her head down and began picking at the carcass before her. She tore into it ravenously and hardly chewed the meat she was inhaling. Licking her lips for a moment to smear blood further into the short fur on her muzzle, she took a moment to breathe, not wanting to bloat herself. It was in this moment that she heard a faint footfall and not long after a small squeak of a voice calling out to her.

When Marqi turned her head, she spotted the pup immediately, he stuck out of the white landscape like a sore thumb. As she listened to him speak a soft smile brightened her face.

" ah, the young prince has graced me with his presence, I am humbled. Thank you, I have practiced many hours to be able to do such a thing. Would you like a bite? also...Where is the rest of your pack, young one?" she cooed with a small bow of her head. While she did not know the young pup, she found it proper to be polite in case mommy and daddy were nearby. Even so, Marqi always had a soft spot for pups....wishing someday that she would have pups of her own but knowing that it may never happen. Marqi nudged the prey nearer to the Prince in attempt to offer it to him if he so chose. Though she was starving she wouldn't let a young pup go hungry if she could help it

Pacem Hervok

She seemed respectful enough as she greeted him with his title which made him slightly proud. He held a glimmer of this pride in his eyes as she asked where the rest of his pack was. "They are all about. A few are running patrols, some are hunting. My mother might be teaching one of my brothers something about the pack or another. Most of the time we all keep busy with different tasks - especially with winter fast approaching. What is your name?" Curiosity had always taken to his fancy and it was not failing him as he talked to a new wolf - a stranger. He was on edge without a lie because she was a stranger and near pack lands and he probably could not take her with a fight.

Perhaps he should warn her that she was nearby and to not cross. Perhaps she was Woodlands material and he could offer her an invitation. The ebony cloaked boy looked carefully at the femme who sat there so calmly. She appeared hungry and, in Pacem's mind, made her suspicious for being so kind. "Skill like that is always looked for in packs. Why not find one to live in?" The question was personal but the boy had never been known to be subtle or respectful with his questions even if some of them were kind of evasive. His bronze eyes searched for the answers so be might be able to continue on with his adventuring throughout all of the lands.

"No thank you ma'am, I'm just fine." He answered in response to the woman who asked if he had wanted some of the rabbit. This entire encounter was too suspicious for him to put his paw on. Something was up though most of it was in his imagination.

Adventure is Out There!

Look out! A blizzard is coming your way!

The sky has been cloudy all day, the temperature has been dropping quickly, and now the winds are beginning to pick up. What began as just a few harmless snow flurries is quickly turning into an all-out blizzard. Quick! Seek out a safe shelter to ride out the storm. Be careful, though! Visibility is very low and it will be easy to get lost.

speech

He had had a bad feeling all day, ever since his sharp blue gaze had seen the cloudy sky that morning and the weather started getting colder and colder. Still, the man trudged on. After all, he held a duty to perform and a bad feeling wouldn't keep him from the job. His large ebony form moved easily across the borders, his paws silent as per habit. Though, his stealth wouldn't help him now since he stuck out of the snowy landscape quite easily. He held an easier time staying undetected from his pack mates when the Woodlands were green and plentiful. He wasn't really a social creature, preferingto see his pack mates when the occasion called for it. Like a meeting or a hunt. Otherwise, he was fine with the company of his thoughts and the familiarity of the borders. Though lately, he had been spending more time with his friend Aideen, the pack's healer.

A few snowflurries fell atop his muzzle, and he scrunched his nose in annoyance. Snow could be fun and all, but most of all it was a nuisance really. An unfamiliar scent graced his muzzle, mixing in with a very familiar one. A scowl spread across his muzzle as he thought of Pacem. The kid held a thirst for adventure and mischief, traits that gave him a great annoyance when the ebony lad slipped right under his muzzle and off pack lands, off to another one of his many adventures. But then again, hadn't he been the same as a child? The pack felt too confining and he just wanted to 'see the world'. He had been great trouble to the guardians of his birth pack. The memories brought a small grin to his face, but it was quickly smoothed over to his usual stoic expression as he moved quickly through the tangled thickets to reach the pair.

Out of nowhere, wind so hard almost blew the breath out of his lungs when it hit him. Next thing he knew, he could barely see his paws. He mentally cursed. He needed to find Pacem and they needed to find shelter. Fast. In this type of storm, one could get easily lost. "Pacem!," he called out strongly. Where the hell was this kid?! Miccah strained his eyes, and finally seemed to catch a glimpse of the familiar form of the prince. But just as quickly, he lost him. His heart beat fast in his chest, but he refused to let his voice show his rising panic as he once again called strongly to the prince. Pacem was his first and only priority. The woman wasn't his concern nor his problem.

Pacem Hervok

A certain level of panic had set in as soon as the light snowfall had started to pick up. It turned to heavy snow and developed until it was a full on blizzard. With deep breathes Pacem attempted to look around the snowy landscape but his visibility was little to none. He heard the voice of Miccah in the distance and he tried to yell back. "Miccah?" His voice was trapped in a blanket of snow as it fell. Pacem had to find shelter or he would surely die of the cold. He headed in the direction that he thought Miccah was in but ended up going in the opposite way towards the northern reaches of the Lore. There was fear in his bronze eyes as he wished he was with his mother and brothers back on pack territory, safe and sound.

His fear only grew as he moved farther away. He could no longer hear the voice that belonged to the pack guardian and he could not see more than a foot in front of him. With visibility so low, Pacem kept his head down and continued on farther towards what he hoped would be the Secret Woodland borders. Perhaps if he could make it to the thicket, the shrubbery would shield him a bit more. The young prince didn't know what to do and he was quite confused. What would happen if he couldn't find his way home? Panic had pitted itself deep in his stomach he he took a glance up. The biting winds whipped into his eyes which burned. His head quickly lowered as he pushed on.

speech

The snow blew all around, swirling around his paws and into his eyes. He shook his head, needing his sight to be clear as much as it could in this awful weather. The boy either hadn't heard him or had and answered back, which meant Miccah hadn't heard him because of the quickly rising ferocity of the storm. He refused to think of failure. There was no other option than to find Pacem. But Miccah had to hurry or he too would get lost. That wouldn't be good at all, for the pack wouldn't fair well if they lost their pack guardian. His sole duty was to protect the pack from danger, and he wouldn't fail at his role. He continued to call for Pacem, ignoring the swirling snow.

As each moment passed with further silence on the boy's end, Miccah allowed himself a few moments of panic before he quickly shut the emotion down. Him panicking wouldn't help in finding Pacem. Time passed and the ferocity of the storm increased. He couldn't even see now except blurring snow. He had to fix himself a shelter and just wait out the storm. Failing to find Pacem was a bitter pill to swallow as he trudged and burrowed himself into a makeshift shelter. He would have to be the one to tell his packmates of his failure and it left an awful taste in his mouth. The only thing he could do now was pray that Pacem would somehow find himself in a safe place.

As soon as the storm ended, Miccah found his way home. It was time to break the news of Pacem's dissapearance, for he wanted to conduct a search as soon as possible. Too bad he would learn the news that his friend, the pack's healer had dissapeared as well. It would be a dark day for the Woodlands pack.
