March 1st, past midnight, overcast -7F/-21C
The night outside was freezing though the morning and afternoons would be warm enough for the snow to liquefy. The air was inky black as clouds blocked out the moon, deny the earth any of the dim light that otherwise would have been provided. Aponi lay tucked away inside of the den she claimed for the night, having left her travelling companion a night or two earlier. Protected from the wind by the stone walls that surrounded her she slept peacefully, at least on the outside.
The warm air seemed to be reaping havoc on her body and mental stability, Aponi had next to no clue what was happening to her. Neither of her parents had explained what happened come the spring of her second year and she had never experienced her heat before. Her dreams had been filled with Karpos for a few nights now, and she found her mind preoccupied with the thoughts of his physical contact throughout the day.
It was confusing to say the least, sure she could admit to herself that his new backbone was attractive, even his scar suited him, but she didn't trust him. She didn't trust any male fully, they all abandoned her or betrayed her when she least expected it so why did she crave his nearness? The yearling couldn't come up with any explanation, but still her dreams were filled with his form, with his deepened voice. Suddenly Aponi startled, blue eyes flashing about as she awoke, was she still dreaming? She must be for Karpos' scent still lingered. He couldn't have climbed the mountain, or he wouldn't have anyways, the Aquila teen was sure she must be trapped in some vivid dream, a vivid delicious dream.
