All Arion wanted to do was explore; he wanted to see more of the world away from the dens and plunge into the thick forest that engulfed the territory of Broken Timber. As much as he enjoyed spending time with his playmates, Arion also did not mind exploring and playing on his own. He was neither against or for having company; he just went with whatever was given to him.
The slender boy prowled around the dens, his nose hovering inches above the ground as he searched for something -- anything -- to spark his interest. As much as he wanted to fling himself into the trees he was also wary of the punishment that could follow. He grumbled at the thought as he subconsciously moved closer and closer to the edge of the clearing, his brows narrowed in concentration. Perhaps a pack member was lurking around and would take him on a quick adventure through the trees… or maybe his father was nearby and would take him… to Arion, it didn’t matter who. He just wanted to explore.
Suddenly something called out – a cry from within the trees. However, it was not like anything he had ever heard before. It was low and eerie, causing Arion’s fur to stand on end and goosebumps to form. An uncomfortable feeling settled in his stomach as he backed away from the edge of the forest, his blue pools widening. He inhaled deeply as his paws quivered; nothing smelt out of place… what could it be? His curiosity begged him to go forward and check it out, but his rationality pleaded with him to remain where he was. Torn, the boy teetered on the tips of his toes as his bright gaze remained focused on the trees where the sound originated from. The air was still once more, the morning sun slowly illuminating the clearing as it rose to its perch.
