Gent Lieris
Liberties taken with @Mirren and @Nina's permission.

As the man swept his eyes over Nina's presence, he dared a glance at her remaining eye, and his ears frisked forward as the realization was made that she had her sight pinned on Minka's swollen side. A part of him had thought that perhaps Minka's state would prompt the Woodlands wolves to be more lenient in their dealings, at least more willing to spare violence from the occassion. Yet the queen's eye did not soften, instead hardening even, her lips twisting ever so slightly. A wave rose up in Gent, instinct urging him to pull Minka to him, to stand over her and act as a physical barrier to Nina's cold stare. Willfully, he pushed the protective impulses down to the pit of his stomach, legs remaining rigidly locked in place.

His pale gaze wandered elsewhere, again tracking those who moved through the shadows around them. When finally Nina spoke up in response to his own leading lady, and his eyes spared another flicker her way, it was a relief to see that she had somewhat visibly relaxed in spite of their presence. Her words brought further abatement of his nerves, though both Crest wolves allowed little if anything of what they were feeling within escape onto their features. They did not want to seem relieved, for they did not want to have seemed truly concerned about the possibility of war. They did not want to seem so weak.

The male lead spoke up then, far more empathetic than the queen had been with his offers. It was all deeply appreciated by both mountain denizens, though they could only express this in minimal increments. Gent's face remained stoic as his queen answered them, assuring Nina that their pack would never allow harm to befall an innocent child, as well granting Mirren a gracious smile as she positively acknowledged his words. With a firm reassurance that the packs were now on neutral grounds with one another, the Crest wolves departed from the thicketed borders of Secret Woodlands, their work done./Fade
