Aleister Vuesain
@Cernan <3

After returning back to Fallen Tree Cove, he was adamant to make sure he stuck inside the borders and around them to make sure his scent was close so his parents wouldn't worry. The guilt of his departure still clung to him, but he enjoyed his trip outside the walls of the kingdom. The wanderlust had tempted him enough and now he understood why it urged him to take that step outside the boundaries of his home. The adventures and unknowns gave him a thrill that he wouldn't forget. The whole trip was satisfying besides that guilt that seeped through to make him return to his home. With the Vuesain family reunion behind them, Aleister knew the others were watching him to make sure he didn't wander off again. However, the middle child knew he would be staying for a while longer. He didn't want to fright his mother or father again like he had and perhaps next time, he'd tell his parents before wandering off.

Silently his paws traveled along the bank of the lake. With the suddenly warm weather washing over them, most of the snow by the lake had completely vanished, though the mountain was still partially covered in the powdery precipitation. The rocky banks crunched beneath his large paws as he continued on, his mind wandering towards the girl he had met outside Relic Lore. Aleister wondered if she ended up finding who she was looking for, knowing he couldn't help her enough like she may have needed. If only he could have helped her more, maybe she could have traveled back here with him and be a nice companion for him here within Fallen Tree Cove. He was often met with lonely moments like today.

OOC: Sorryyyyy - was havin a hard time figuring out how to start this xD

The adults had all said that the air would warm up again, and for the most part the tawny boy believed them. His parents always seemed to know what they were talking about, so he had no reason to doubt that the weather would return to how it had been when he was small. But, when at last he could see the snow retreating to the shaded areas, and hiding beneath the shelter of the pine forest, the change was still something novel. It would be his first birthday soon; his very first trip through the yearly cycle. He was beginning to feel more and more like an adult every day.

At least, in the way adolescents begin to think themselves adults. Cernan had taken more time to practice hunting, and even decided to walk around the borders every once in a while, as @“Nathaniel” had shown him how to do. It was hard to deny that Al's disappearance was at least part of the reason he'd taken up the job, but the youth hadn't given them any cause for concern since. The lake prince was also still fearful of the beasts and potential terrors that lurked both outside and inside his home on occasion, but there was improvement. Tiny, tentative steps forward in not being such a scaredy-cat. Cernan was learning that it felt just as horrid to be paralyzed with fear as it was to watch the others fall into harms way; all while he just sat there trembling. Perhaps that helplessness was even worse.

Luckily, his little patrol had turned up no such horrors. Instead, he found himself crossing Aleister's trail. In the weeks since his return, Cernan's irritation had burned back down to ashes. Instead, the boys were just more... distant than they had been before. The pup felt no need to remedy this just yet, but he was drawn to his sibling's proximity all the same. Neha wasn't around at the moment, so maybe hanging out with Al for a while would be just fine. The youngest child had swept his dissent to the back of his mind for so long, that he'd even convinced himself that he was alright with everything that had happened.

He emerged from the tree-line, feeling the cool lake breeze against his face. Immediately the pup's golden eyes swept nervously across its rippled surface. No birds. At least, nowhere near him. They then settled on the darker form of his brother, and Cernan chuffed a simple greeting. His large paws picked over the rocks at an easy trot; fluffy tail swaying lazily. At least the wayward son had been staying home.
