Hoping for an FTC wolf maybe but AW! || Sunset, Cloudy, 13°F (-11°C)

Being stagnant was doing nothing for the blue-eyed female. It left room and time for bad memories to gnaw away at her brain. There weren't many plants for her to distract herself with and company seemed to be scarce. If she was smart she would have descended the mountain by now. Perhaps even headed back up to the Northern forest where she had met the pale child. Such a ghostly looking thing that showed no obvious traits like Lilya - which made it easier to ignore the incident as coincidence or confusion.

Yet here she was. Sitting on the edge of an unfamiliar lake on an unfamiliar mountain. She had scented a pack nearby a few times but no one from there had found her so far. Made her wonder if she was the ghost. But the thought allowed her to relax comfortably without the feeling that someone would spring upon her.

Hope it's okay to throw Kajika in here?

The morning and the days were growing cold quickly, much quicker than he would like. As the light started to leave the forest the dark beta made his way through the trees that made up their home. It was the same everyday the routine he held but it gave some sense of stability when everything else seemed wrong. It was his second year in the cove, his second winter and the first one without Vespertio and Namid at the lead. It didn't feel right and made Kajika feel like they weren't prepared and wouldn't be.

He came along the border after doing an evening sweep at which time he would grab a drink from the lake before turning in for the night. He plodded down the small slope onto the shore kicking a small pebble along the way. He wasn't expecting to find anyone there but as his gaze rose to look out upon the lake he saw the agouti figure. His Amber gaze didn't leave her as he neared the water's edge, “Is there something you need help with?” He asked as he just as he stopped his toes only inches from the water.

completely okay<3 @Kajika

She sucked in a breath, obviously surprised, as someone asked a question. Blue eyes searched for only seconds before she found a large dark form. He was perhaps a traditional handsome, nothing sticking out but still well looking. He smelt of the pack she had scented not far from here. Seems she was finally being spotted.

"Ah don' think so but thank ya." The large female smiled and politely nodded her head before rising to her paws. It was nice to have company even if they might not want her lingering around. Andromeda was no stranger to how packs worked and how protective they could be of their own family. Hell, if anything she knew that the most.

Her eyes looked out to the land before them before glancing back over to the dark male. "Nice place ta settle. Yer leaders mus' be proud ta call this place home." She was only simply assuming he wasn't the leader for most didn't take kindly to strangers lingering near their territory.

Great! Thanks! :)

It was quite obvious that this lady visitor was a loner a plight the dark man was sympathetic to. With it being later in the day he thought perhaps he might be seeking shelter by the lake for the evening as he had a few times over the past two years. An offer of help was given in case that wasn't her reason for being at the lake at such an hour.

“You're quite welcome and if you change your mind don't be afraid to ask.” The alpha was always willing to give help to those who needed it. That was what had brought him to the lore in the first place. The man dipped his head to lap at the water as her gaze drifted away from him.

His attention was brought back to her blue one as she spoke once more causing an amused smile to cross his dark features. “Yes, it is a nice place to settle,” he agreed, “The leader is quite proud to call this place home,” he went on before pausing and offering her a polite dip of his head. “I'm Kajika Tallis leader of Fallen Tree Cove.”

Ah, so he was polite too it seemed. Seemed Andy was running a good luck streak with this meeting so far. She acknowledged his kind offer with a small dip of her muzzle as her small smile stayed planted on her face. "Very kind of ya." Her southern accent lacing her soft-spoken words.

Andromeda was glad he agreed. Helped solidify her beliefs that his scent did indeed match those of the pack she had got a few smells of. Or it could have meant there was another pack calling this lake home. She tried not to over think it too much, though. Would only end up confusing her.

When she caught his introduction she could feel her face grow warm. Oh. He was the alpha of the lake pack. With embarrassment and respectful submission, the large Valrorys lowered her tail and head. "Pleasure ta meet ya, sir." Andy averted her gaze away from his light amber eyes. "Ah'm Andromeda or Andy. Whichever ya like more."

She certainly was a nice female with good manners which left Kajika feeling at ease about the fact she was so close to the borders. She declined his offer of help very politely but he did let her know it stood. He offered a smile and nod at her words, “Only trying to do what I can,” he stated. It was always what he had done.

He had no problem agreeing with her statement. He had always been proud to be a part of Fallen Tree Cove and he was sure that during their time Namid and Vespertio had been too. Many things had befallen the pack in recent years but that didn't make them any less proud or happy to call the mountain home.

He knew he had sprung his position in the pack on her so her reaction wasn't anything that upset him. As he would have expected if he would have thought about it she showed him the respect his position demanded. “And you as well but please relax. We are somewhat of an informal pack.” He wasn't used to having wolves show him submission. As for her name and what to call her, well Kajika hadn't ever really been one for nicknames. “Tell me Andromeda what brings you to this part of the mountain at this time of year?”

With his word to relax, her body shifted into something more neutral. More comfortable. Her ears swiveled slightly at his question as blue eyes looked out over the lake. "Ah suppose ah needed some time alone." She shifted her weight as her rear settled down onto the rough earth. She looked out north as if she'd be able to see the forest from here. Andromeda couldn't, but the strange feeling was still there.

The large female took in a deep breath before she returned her focus on to the dirt toned man. Being alone felt almost foolish mentioning being alone gave time for her thoughts to creep in. Company was nice. "By ya question, Ah assume visit'ers ain't common this time of year?" Andy smiled softly once she finished her words. She wouldn't be surprised really. Most wolves - especially loners she imagined - wouldn't bother climbing mountains once the weather began to get a bit chilly.

He became more comfortable when she relaxed from her submissive posture. Maybe someday in the future he would become more comfortable but this wasn't the day. He could not help the smile that crossed his features at her reason for being at the lake. Nor could he help the small chuckle, “Well you certainly have picked a good place to come for some alone time. I often come here for just such a thing.” More times than he could count on one paw he'd found himself at the lakes edge lost in thought.

Being that the weather was getting colder he couldn't help but be curious as to what a wolf like her was doing on the mountain in her own. “Towards the colder months we don't often get visitors here but I would think with it getting colder you would be looking for a pack. A place to take refuge at least through the winter.” He also thought it could be possible she would want to go it alone for the winter. Every wolf was different.

She smiled softly. Indeed she had picked a good place. He was one of the first wolves she had seen stirring about. Andromeda was surprised she hadn't been spotted by the lake wolves sooner but then again she was sure they had better things to do then try to spot some loners creeping about. Especially if they weren't causing trouble - which she wasn't as far as she was aware.

Her smile fell and her head nodded softly. "Ah don' know what Ah'm looking for." It would be smart for her to settle down for the winter but then she was practically freeloading until the temperatures raised again. Alas, there were no promises she'd make it through a winter alone. It left her with a doubtful, unsure feeling brewing in the pit of her stomach.
