LAIKE ARTEMIEVA

Needless to say the male was rather happy with his life in the Fields. He had @Adelayde as his truly and was working hard when he was not curled up next to her. Laike did his best to socialize with those he could find scattered throughout the territory. The Fields were certainly not as bumbling as Hearthwood had been (or perhaps still was? He was overdue for a visit.) but he could appreciate that. He had never been the most chatty male around.

That morning he had shuffled away from the safety of his lover and his den towards the Lookout. He was craving a glimpse of the lowlands even if everything might be a field of white. The large Artemieva man was not one to get itchy paws. All he needed to simmer any cravings for adventure was merely a look at the world outside of the borders.

While Jessie would not necessarily say she felt secure with their ranks, they were not dreadfully low. With their newest member, Adelayde’s lover, Jessie was feeling slightly better. There was still something that was bothering her thought – something that concerned Askan and Reyes. After all, she still blamed herself for their leaving and every once and awhile, Jessie needed time for herself.

After checking the caches and doing a round of the borders, the Rye Queen set out for the Lowlands, enjoying the icy breeze kiss her face. A low sigh escaped her maw. It was only when she found a nice spot overlooking the expanse of the Lowlands did she settled down, shutting her eyes against the world and enjoying the song the wind had to offer. Other than that, the monochrome woman was greeted with beautiful silence.

LAIKE ARTEMIEVA

Nothing seemed out of place in his view of the world. He had nothing to worry about or anything to fend off - for now at least. Laike wouldn't mind some sort of challenge to deal with but he assumed it was for the best nothing was bothering the Rye pack.

The scarred male was content to turn around and go about his business but something beckoned for his attention. A barely familiar scent matched with a slightly darker spot against the snowy terrain. A thin smile tugged at his features as he kept his distance, thinking. He had not been acquainted with the leading lady very well. Laike knew the name but he did not know the wolf behind that name or underneath that peppered coat. Although, from his understanding, @Adelayde was fond of the leader and that was enough to stir Laike to move towards her. It might do him so good anyway.

A low woof escaped the stocky male, his tail hanging low and giving a few slow wags. He was not here to bombard her. "Would you mind some company?" His voice was kind and soft but still loud enough to be heard from his position a few feet away.

She should have expected nothing less than for her peace and quiet to be interrupted. A lady could hope. Emerald eyes snapped open at the should of approaching paw steps and a not too obsure greeting. For a moment, her brows furrowed in annoyance before she relaxed back into a neutral expression. The Rye Queen turned on her heels, facing her visitor head on and was comforted that this was no stranger, just Adelayde's man that she had spoken so fondly of. When he spoke, the woman's mind lashed out, yes, of course I mind. But that was very much the side of her that desired to be alone. Even the reminder that she was no longer such came in the form of her pack mate.

Instead, she offered the man a smile and nodded her head to him in greeting. When she spoke, her voice was rough, "Of course not...please join me." She continued her onlook of the Lowlands, pleased that things seemed to be peaceful. She did not know it yet, but their neighbors were no longer an established pack and the Rye wolves would no longer have to consider worrying about their neighbors. For a few moments, a silence passed over the two. The Tainn shifted uncomfortably before she broke the silence, "Are you enjoying your time at the Rye?" After all, the last time she hadn't checked in on her pack mates, three of them ended up leaving.
