It was all his fault. He should have paid more attention to her, should've been more bold with voicing his feelings, with showing his desires. Instead he had held back for fear that he would overwhelm the pale woman and drive her away. Lorcan had been waiting for the right moment, or for some kind of sign that she was ready. Sure, her scent was scattered all through the woods and along the mountain trails, but he had thought that to be game. A way to tease him so that when she was ready, he would be too. The male's jaws grit together, causing his muzzle to wrinkle as he forced out a heavy sigh. Obviously, his attempts to be polite and respectful hadn't worked in his favour. Now, as he searched the woods for her pale form, he planned to make his intentions perfectly clear.

is there someone we can call?
perhaps you shouldn't drink alone
She wouldn't hide from him. There was no use dragging him along for a ride through hell. She had been knowingly reckless but how much did he know? Piety was determined to patch things up, smooth things over but she would not bow down to anyone.
"Lorcan," She called out in gentle tones from between a tight patch of trees. It was hard to miss the tension that seemed to spread over his face in mounting wrinkles. "Come." The pale female beckoned like a siren might to a sailor. She did not move from her spot, they could discuss things right here. Let eavesdroppers listen and prying eyes look on - there was no shame in the pale female's actions or words.
Foolishly, she hoped to be met with affection. Perhaps she was more selfish than she knew.

The agouti male needed no invitation to approach her this time. His expression hardened at her instruction, teeth gritting together inside his mouth as he continued to prowl towards her. As if to assert himself, Lorcan remembered back to her previous suggestion on how he should hold himself and promptly lifted his chin, rolled back shoulders and waved his tail high above his back dominantly as he reached her.
Confidently stepping his way over the mangle of tree roots and fallen branches that had settled in the gathering snow, Lorcan said nothing as he lent forwards to stroke an apologetic lick up the length of her forehead. Pulling back, a quiet warbling whine whistled out from between his charcoal lips for a few seconds as his golden eyes gazed into her warm brown ones. He held his eyes on hers for a few tense moments, guilt swimming behind his sharp gold gaze, before he finally lent forwards again to begin placing a trail of small nips and gentle kisses down the length of her cheek.
"Is this what you wanted?" He breathed between playful nips to her soft white fur, the frown still etched on his face.

She was rather pleased with his greeting even if it partially confused her. He had looked so concerned she was sure she was going to be met with words curt and clipped. Instead, there were whines and kisses.
Her tail waved steadily behind her pale form but seemed to cease at his question. "It always has been." She would do her best to shove her head under his neck, seek his comfort if he would give it. Then she gave a soft whine of her own. Words seemed to fail her at that moment but maybe they didn't need them. They had always found other ways to communicate before. Gifts, body-language, even silence between them felt like a thousand words.
"I had missed you so much." She whispered softly, a small frown tugging at her lips. "Don't leave." Because she was not ready to go through the pain all again.

The male did not fight back as Piety pushed her head to the dip beneath his chin. Instead he tipped his head downward to embrace the smooth curve of her head, offering a greater area of warmth for her to press up into. Lorcan felt her whine vibrate up through his lower jaw and throat. If this was her pleading forgiveness, she was wasting her time. He had already forgiven her entirely. A low purr of affection rumbled up from the depths of his chest as he reached his muzzle forwards towards the dip between her shoulders as she pressed up against him. Delicately his teeth combed through her thick winter coat, an action that would hopefully send shivers and tingles down her spine if he was gentle enough.
When Piety whispered that she had missed him, Lorcan paused his grooming. Again he wanted to question her, ask why she had wandered off when he had been around all along, but once again he closed his mouth and swallowed, saying nothing and instead focused on what she said next. "I'm not going anywhere." He murmured quietly in assurance, before stepping off to one side and brushing up the length of her side, masking some of Odin's scent with his own.

That was all she needed to hear. Nothing else needed to be discussed at that moment. She knew what she wanted and she hoped his own wants hadn't changed since their last conversation. They could do things right. Together.
Her brown eyes followed his tawny form as his musk coated her fur. The grooming had already riled her up. She swiftly moved a few steps away, not truly leaving him behind. No. She had every intention of keeping him close now that she had him. Piety tossed her head over her shoulder to throw a glance in the tawny male's direction.

As he reached the tail end of Piety, where her scent was strongest, she stepped away. Lorcan paused, his mind suddenly snapping away from his goal to rub against every inch of her, as he caught the glance Piety offered him over the slant of her pale shoulder. The agouti male's ears pricked. He'd seen that look before. Lorcan couldn't stop his tongue licking nervously at his maw as he stepped after her, keeping close to her hind limb like a newborn deer to that of its mother. Nostrils flared as he reached forwards to try and rest his muzzle upon the dip above her tail and nibble playfully at her fur.

She was pleased that he followed her, a smile sitting easily on her scarred face. Her feelings were all good ones - excitement, eagerness, fondness. She had longed to feel like this. It was all apart of the instinctual drive. She had ignored it only once but every other spring she had made herself vulnerable to the sin of the season.
Piety turned to move her face towards Lorcan's. Her jaws parted ever so slightly to nip at his ear. She wanted to give a soft tug but nothing too rough. Then she would place a soft kiss where she had nipped.
As silly as it might have been, she didn't want to be too assertive with Lorcan. What if she moved too fast? Or not fast enough? She had to test the waters.

Lorcan let a low, flirtatious growl rumble in his chest as he stepped off to one side. He fell silent for a moment as he moved to return a few kisses to her cheek and muzzle, but the low growling soon resumed as the male turned his head away. Swiftly he gripped his jaws roughly around the thick fur of her scruff and bumped roughly against her side, testing to she if she would accept him.
