For @Ember <33333! I'm super excited for this :D if you'd like Chiron to be in this let me know, she can definitely meet him!

He couldn't quite remember the last time he'd been on this side of the Lore but it felt good. He wasn't fond of mountains but traversed them with ease, it was the high altitude that kept him at bay as his aging lungs weren't quite equipped for the change but that didn't mean he wasn't fond of flirting with danger. He kept a distance just far enough that the trees were visible and knit together but far enough apart that if one were to really look they'd see the bulky male stumbling around alone on the Heights. He'd promised Chiron that he'd bring back dinner and since his son was taking it upon himself to venture out alone for his own taste of adventure, Koda was taking him along less and less, wanting him to understand independence and perhaps learn a few things about fending for himself. It was inevitable that eventually he'd had his run in with a jerk, how he handled it was still up for discussion. He was busying himself with foraging, sniffing along branches and bushes for the faintest of scent and following it until it grew stale. He would do this until he came across a foreign scent, this one heavy of pack and stopped in his tracks with curiosity. What pack laid beyond the border?

Something was off to the West, a scent that didn't belong invading her breath, and so she turned to face it. Diligent but quiet as ever, she didn't bother to grab a pack mate and take them with her just in case. It was likely a visitor that one of them knew or a curious rogue, rather than a threat. Anyways, she knew how to hold her own by now.

She should have sought assistance, however. Maybe instructed a lower ranking wolf to check out the foreigner in her place so that she didn't have to bother with it at all. Because when she saw him, really saw him, her chest shook with emotions she was too terrified to name. It had been so long, and so much had happened, and Ember couldn't help but think that if he hadn't gone the way that every other man in the Pines had, he could've done something to stop all the heartbreak that had befallen his daughters.

"Dad," she spoke, her voice almost breaking, for it was too late to turn away and pretend she hadn't seen him now.
