Garmir Ghostpaw
OOC: for @Blackmoore
6.4 Evening. Clear Sky, 21.2 ° F, -6 ° C

......Sigh. The mating season was finally over and in a way Garmir was happy to see it end. Charred Ash Draw had pretty much internally torn itself apart and Triell's disappearance during the season had not helped the situation at all. Garmir had to admit, his admiration for @Treyah had only been reinforced during all this hardship - for she had despite everything pushed forward and kept the pack afloat, in turn inspiring Garmir to keep doing his damnest to help his adopted home. Leadership had also changed and Garmir wasn't entirely sure about @Dread being in charge. The two had had very little interaction and Garmir knew so little of the new dark alpha male. Still, if Treyah did not dispute this, neither would Garmir, for he trusted her judgement.

Garmir had come to Sacred Grove mostly to have a moment of silence. The place was eerie - perhaps little less so during winter, but this silent - almost dead atmosphere was what the earthen male preferred right now. The spring appeared to be late this year and Garmir wondered if he should take it as in ill omen. While he was not particularly superstitious, the winter holding lands of Relic lore in its grasp even now did feel little strange. There was still plenty of snow, it was below freezing and spring was nowhere to be found. Maybe it would come at all?

Garmir laid down below old oak tree, closing his eyes and just being there for a moment alone. He took deep calm breaths, relaxing his body and mind as he basked in the last rays of evening sun that happen to shine to the spot he had chosen. He felt peaceful, even if worried, the battle scarred male finding that he once more had a purpose - one that felt even more important than his past life in Greater pack..

Blackmoore Northcrest

It wasn't perhaps a shock that white fir notch have collapsed, but it was definitely an surprise to the black male. Even more so, as in result of the pack's collapse, Blackmoore have found himself alone once again. The woman he'd found and nursed back to health have just simply left, without a trace nor goodbye. And it felt... awful. Like to be left behind like an used tool, discarded and forgotten. The fact that Sharan haven't grew to be anything more than just a friend in the weeks prior was somewhat soothing, but the pain remained. Like a bad taste at the back of one's throat. It just irked the male in a wrong way, filling him with sadness. Even after the male have decided to head back south, (mostly) the way he'd came. Backtracking his steps for days, except for a detour to the west where he'd found the after mentioned woman few... months ago.

The realization that the events he'd was still having so vivid in his memory were a few months old already have kind of struck him as he'd set paws again in the heartland of the relic lore. It have shaken the male enough to realize that what he sees on a horizon is nothing else but the serpent's pass, a route he'd take last year. Perhaps he could go there, and seek out the male he'd met on his path through the mountains. Perhaps. It was still a long way though, as of now, Blackmoore had just set his paws on the edge of the sacred grove. Being on his way for most of the days prior, the male have avoided any temptations coming with a season that - to his knowledge - have just ended. Yet the male was far from being relaxed, as the conflicting feelings have still brewed inside him.

The day was closing to an end, as one could obviously tell by watching the sun going down on the west - illuminating the ridges and mountains of the serpent's pass that have been to the east. It was calm and peaceful, quite a stark contrast to the land of white fir notch after leaders have left the pack. Perhaps he'd could stay and rest here for a while, who knows. But first he'd should find a nice place to rest. And with that intention Blackmoore have set his paws in motion, crushing the remaining snow under his paws as he'd entered the wood.

He was tired, awfully tired.

I prefer not jumping on with hello's instantly. Derp.

Garmir Ghostpaw
OOC: That's okay.

Garmir closed his eyes and rested for a while. He wasn't sleeping, nor was he going to - for night was when he was most active. He'd be going for patrol as soon as sun would settle down, the earthen male often by his own choice watching after Charred Ash Draw when others were sleeping.

The Sacred Grove was as silent as it was known to be and here Garmir could thruly be alone in his thoughts. He was still in many ways shackled to his former believes and ways, but at the same time Treyah - the lead female of his new home had showed him new ways of being and co-existing with others. Garmir had begin to adopt many of her ways - if not outright copy them but there were still thoughts and memories that haunted him.

What had been a perfect silence was soon broken by a distant but distinct sound of snow crunching under paws. Garmir's ears twitched and he opened his eyes, staring into the ever growing shadows to the direction where the sound was coming from. Could it be another member from the pack? He chose to not move himself but simply listen for a while if the sound would come closer. As long as he himself remained still, it would be much harder to detect him until at visual range. If the stranger missed him, then he would have to follow - if not else then just to check it was not Lana or Cannon trying to sneak out on their own. Treyah had enough worries already with Triell missing...

Even in the deep shadows that have been on the rise with the passing time, Blackmoore could clearly see the vapor coming with his every breath. It was supposed to be spring already, yet it appeared to be late this year. If the peculiar sound of the snow under his paws was any indication that is. Preventing anybody from being truly stealthy, unless there was something to suppress the sound of their pawsteps. A her of deer maybe, agitated by someone in league with the one doing the sneaking. Obviously, as a loner Blackmoore did not posses resources like these to organize such a thing. Besides there would be no point in it anyway, as he was just a traveler. A loner.

The dark male kept on his trek through the wood for now, crushing the snow in a steady pace as he'd go. From his last visit to this area he remembered that there should be a creek in the vicinity, so the male have decided to make a pause every few dozen meters that he'd crossed in the shadows of the trees and occasional shrubberies. It wasn't long enough till the male have come upon one of the many clearings, where the snow have managed to melt thanks to the unobstructed access of the sun. Looking around, Blackmoore have saw an old oak tree to his left, but as the male stopped and listened in...

There it was. His ears perked as the head turned the other way to look into direction of a creek that have hummed from opposite direction.

Garmir laid in the shadow and watched attently as the stranger came ever closer. The earthen male did not move nor so much breath as he saw the traveller approach and then come to an halt. Had he seen Garmir? Noticed him? Poison green eyes stared curiously into the clearing but then the other man turned away towards the source of water. Garmir let his breath come out, vapour rising into the air.

He could remain silent and possibly slip away when the other one was not watching, although the snow made stealthy escape more difficult. Then again, Garmir did not have to escape anything other than perhaps for this moment burden of meeting others. He was tired, positively so after hard day of work but he really would have rather had a moment of rest in silence than have to check on passer bys. Sacred Grove was far enough from Charrer Ash Draw to not be considered backyard of his home, but there was still chance this man could encounter one of his pack mates, youngster perhaps - and Garmir wanted to make sure it would be safe to have him around.

So he broke the silence he had maintained so far. Nothing chatty, merely a note that the stranger was not alone in these woods. "Thirsty are we?" -He asked with a clear voice, his eyes never turning away from the other. Garmir did not stand up nor otherwise change anything about his relaxed pose he had already managed to snug himself into, still resting lazily against the tree. Obviously he wasn't very concerned for his safety.

Blackmoore Northcrest

The night was about to begin, as the sun have lowered itself enough to kiss the horizon. It was however already pretty dark in the sacred grove, as the shadows have grown long and overbearing. Perhaps it was the reason why the earthy male have gone unnoticed to Blackmoore's eyes. It was fair to say that Garmir's sudden words have been quite an surprise to him, they however failed to cause him to jump up - if that was their goal that is. The voice boomed from pretty close, explaining why the dark male have scented a faint breeze of another. Tho to be honest about it, sacred grove was always full of these, even when he had arrived nearby just a year ago. It was still quite an omission perhaps, but he was just a traveler with no ill intent. Most likely the stranger behind was just about the same, after all someone else would just attempt to jump on him. Silently.

"Nosy are we?" The male mocked back with a smile, as Blackmoore have turned himself back and had stood sideways with his muzzle pointing at the nearby oak tree, from under which his ears traced the origin of the strangers voice. His eyes didn't had to search long, as the strangers breath had still hanged in the air. What his eyes have managed to see however, was without great detail as the strangers coat have blended well with earth and broken browny grass that have lied choked under the snow not so long ago still.

"Who are you?"

Garmir smiled as the stranger noticed his presence and searched for him with his gaze. He still remained laying down against the tree as if he had grown roots beneath, flicking his ear to produce slightest of movement that could be seen by the other. His poison green eyes shined with curiosity but little else. Surely the earthen male had no planned to strartle this traveller - this was a mere chance encounter.

When the other spoke in return, Garmir turned his head down to the ground and then placed it on one of the roots that connected to the large tree he was laying against. He kept one of his eyes on the stranger at all times, but beyond that did nothing else. Garmir's smile begin to fade slowly but there was no real hostility in his gaze. "Oh.. no no. Not me. I was just resting here."

Question of whom Garmir was followed and the pack wolf smirked for a moment before giving his answer. "Im just a soldier." -he replied, not really sharing his name or even pack even if the scent of pack wolf was obvious on him. As if it was even possible anymore, Garmir seemed to relax even more, nudging against the tree and then closing his eyes. His ears were still in game and he muttered his own question now in turn. "And who are you then?"

The stranger had some nerve, Blackmoore had to give him that as his eyes plucked out the shapes from the dark. In all honesty it was a little surprising to see someone so relaxed outside of any realm's borders. Garmir appeared disinterested, sleepy even - a view that had been reinforced slightly by his answer. The words have caused Blackmoore to miff loudly, erecting a sharp puff of vapor from his nostrils as he did so. "Were you? I see..." The dark male spoke, as he tilted his head slightly sideways to focus his eyes a little to the side to see the man better, with more detail. "If I knew, I would wait till the morning..." The man jested with a grin.

The dark male have another look at the earthy male after his next words, assessing what he'd just heard. Coming into this grove male have not sensed any particular signs suggesting he was crossing, or coming near, any border of a pack. The man sensed traces of visitors, passerby's and alike - sure. But not anything that would give that traffic a structure. A hierarchy to it. "Ain't you slightly out of place then?" Blackmoore chuckled silently as he'd suggested it. Watching the stranger getting even more comfy between the roots as he'd spoke. To him it was quite unusual, to see someone that relaxed in contact with a stranger beyond the borders of law and order. "I'm same in a way." The man responded to the question after short deliberation.

I'm crap and need a warmup. :x

Humour was something Garmir wasn't too great at just yet. He often took jokes and sacrasm very literally and so it was with Blackmoore's jesting too. He wasn't dim wit - least to some extend, but humour had been until fairly recently not been part of his life. Garmir opened his eyes again and turned his head slightly towards the stranger - still not bothering to stand. It was very dark and thus hard to pick clear facial details, but the earthen male could faintly see a grin. He let out huff and then called out Blackmoore for his supposed 'lie'; "I don't think you would have..."

Garmir wasn't going to linger on the topic for long however. They were already introducing themselves to each other, even if not sharing names and curiously, both admitted being a soldier. That Garmir did not doupt and he did resepect those whom took said profession. The stranger asked wether or not Garmir was out of his place, being this far from pack lands, to which the earthen male answered. "Once a moon I venture further from the pack borders to spend few days in the nearby territories. To see whome comes and goes, see where prey is moving and such. This place is also quiet... or least used to.."

The last few words were not actually directed at Blackmoore but at something else. While the two had been talking, a trio of coyotes had been creeping closer and oh boy, one of them had a nerve to lift a leg and even make a claim over the spot. Garmir stared bewildered at his spot, unsure at this point was he now taking part of some freak dream. His jaw literally hung down as he watched. "Is this real?" -he asked, still laying down but now staring at the coyotes.
