Serach Donata
I'm so sorry for letting this sit for so long. You're up @Jynx

Very rarely was Serach bothered by the isolation of Oak Tree Bend - he frankly enjoyed it. But it was times like these, when he was confronted with delivering very personal, very difficult news months after the fact that he regretted it deeply. It was taking a knife to the emotional wounds, cutting them open so they would take even longer to heal. At least there was genuine sympathy in her reaction, which softened the blow just a little bit. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes for a moment to gather himself before he opened them, rapidly blinking away the remaining tears. Her response was appropriate, and if he had been a purely rational being, he would have agreed with her inclination about the reason that Hearthwood was no more. But he wasn't, and so he couldn't help but think that whatever personal reason Lachesis had, it was bullshit.

Serach kept his mouth shut though, only opening it to respond to her last question about a potential meeting. He nodded his head in agreement as he confirmed that, "Yes. It would be good for us to meet face-to-face. Perhaps somewhere in the middle, before summer turns to autumn?" They could send out scouts closer to the meeting time to figure out the details - a trip for Mable to make maybe, he thought. She would certainly enjoy the opportunity to get away for a little bit.

She could relate to him, at least when it came to loss. He had lost Kisla as a sister and a friend. She had lost a strong leader. The mysterious disappearance of her children too, was never far from the back of her mind. Such a loss was one personal, all her own and shared with Emrys. As much as she would have liked to inquire of Serach if he or any of his subordinates had caught sight or scent of her missing children, looking at him now...full with emotion, she decided now was not the time. She wouldn't press him while his emotion were fresh at the memory of Kisla's loss.

Sensing that her time here was coming to an end, her lips tugged in a pleased smile as he agreed towards her suggestion. "That should work out just fine, yes. I'll be sure to pass the news along that a visit is in the making." Overall, her scouting trip to Oak Tree Bend had gone without a hitch. She even felt there was a genuine sense of understanding between her and Serach. A pleasant, but welcomed surprise. She wouldn't mind meeting with him in the future, should fate allow it. Straightening her posture, she prepared to make her departure. Yellow eyes looked squarely into his own. "Serach, it was a pleasure making your acquaintance. I've...enjoyed this little errand." Even if receiving the news of Kisla's passing was a blow, it gave her closure. "Give Oak Tree Bend my best." Her smile was light and easy, her eyes with a sincere glimmer. Then she turned back, retreating into the distant forest from which she came.
