Pitch
come meet my spoopy gal
I'm getting used to her so expect some shorter responses
It was like home away from home.

Pitch's lips twitched up into a pretty little smile as she strode between the pumpkins like they were her subjects, destined to bow to her every whim. Any other wolf might have gotten unsettled by the spooky nature of this realm, with the fog and darkness, but not Pitch. She couldn't stand the thought of being out in the light, of being so barefaced and exposed. Even if she'd grown bored of her homeland she knew there would always be gloomy little corners to claim as her own. It was just a matter of finding them.

It reminded her of home, yes, but this little pumpkin patch just wouldn't do,  she wanted something a little more grandiose , imposing. But for now it would do and she was content. As she wandered through field the vines tugged at her paws and the rain stroked her spine, like the gentle caress of a long lost lover. Stay, don't leave us like the rest. Even with the rain dampening out her sense of smell she knew that this was such a lonely, forlorn place. After all, who would willingly venture into the dark? Perhaps never to be seen again....

hi take this cruddy post pls n thanks

He was lonesome. The company of his sister was not enough and so he let her wander ahead while he had looked for more...appealing company. Yet he had failed in his search. Fittingly he lurked after her into a rather dreary place. It was a hard hitting reminder of home and he scoffed as he put a dark paw on a pumpkin. They were still healthy enough for his paw to not go straight through it. Granted he didn't imagine they would last long with all this nasty cold weather.

He grumbled as he rolled a smaller one a few inches away (damn heavy things, awful to roll) before moving a bit closer to his sibling. "Anything worthwhile?" He questioned in a deep voice that seemed unfitting for someone of his still growing age.

Pitch
spoopy sibs <3

Spooky couldn't be blamed, Pitch wasn't much company at all. She didn't speak much and when she did her words were short and clipped, like speaking was too much effort for her. Her ear flicked, a sign that she heard his words but rather than respond verbally she merely shrugged. She waved her tail, gesturing to the pumpkins and vines that surrounded them. Nothing worthwhile, not really. It was like home, more or less, just with less shadows.

She turned to him then, her bright gaze roving over her brother's form, judging what she saw. They'd been apart for a week or so but he looked very much the same, a dark behemoth with eyes that burned so hot they could've seared her soul. If she had one.

"What is it you want, brother?" She then asked, her voice nothing more than a whisper. There was always something, her sibling was soon to be a man of ambition, she could sense it.

"What is it you want, brother?"

Such a heavy question for the ambitious male.

"Something more." He responds with ease as his gaze roams over his sister's form. She was healthy and untouched by others. He could rest easy now. Even if he had drifted for that week to find new company, it was her presence that had haunted his mind. They had left together and no matter where they went he would always drift back to her.

He then strides forward with smooth confidence. "It reminds me too much of home." He commented offhandedly as his nose briefly crinkled. "Do you like it?" He asked as his features smoothed into something soft that was reserved for Pitch alone. If she liked it he would not fuss any further than he had.

Pitch
More.

That was always the way, wasn't it? Yet, Pitch felt no resentment towards her brother, only affection. Or at least her version of it. If anyone deserved more it was him, and in time she would find a way to give him what he wanted but for now he had to be patient. Something he wasn't very good at, such a shame. She too saw the similarities, got the sense that it was all so familiar. That they could line up the locations side by side and it would be like looking into a mirror, like another reality where their home was little further north than where it was meant to be.

She shrugged, which was to say that it was fine. Just that, nothing more and nothing less.

"Do you...a long time ago when we were small, do you remember that old woman we found in the forest?"

She was a skinny, decrepit thing. All skin and bones, glassy eyes and shaky breaths. And yet the woman seemed to know things and as she laid there dying she had whispered awful truths that Pitch held close to her chest. And oh how she wished for them to come true, all of it.

"She said you would kill for me. Do you think you could?" Her gaze was heavy, ladened with expectation.

She caught him off guard recalling stories so old. His features fell a bit down as he nodded his head. Of course. The old woman would never be forgotten by the fire eyed youth. Her words so eerie and haunting. It sent a small shiver down his spine that he tried to hide but the fluffing of his fur could not be stopped.

The memory was unsettling for him, to say the least.

His features shifted as orange eyes seemed to narrow into slivers of brimstone. "Of course." He uttered as he pulled close to her, breathing in her scent for anyone on her who did not belong. "Who?" He questioned with a growing edge. His morals did not rest as stable as his sisters or brother. He would start a war for the hell of it and he would kill the greatest of creatures for his dearest sister. She simply needed to tell him who.

Pitch
Her smile was genuine, soft as though a prince charming had told her that she was the prettiest girl in the land. Yet, she dreamed of anything but a happily ever after. Such a fate seemed abhorrent, a curse in it's truest form. Peace was nothing but stagnation and Pitch would have none of it, she would sooner burn the world to ash than allow it. And if anyone could do it, it was her, of that she was certain.

"Oh brother," she cooed, moving closer to pull him into an embrace. Her chin rested against his shoulder as she sighed, content. "That is the loveliest thing anyone has ever said to me."

To know that he was unshakably loyal to her and her alone, she would have cried tears of joy if she had them. Instead, she pulled back, met his gaze and nodded. He would know what to do when the time came, she had faith in him. She turned then and stepped a few paces ahead where she found a rather sizeable pumpkin. When she had been younger she'd found great pleasure in crushing them, smushing and smashing them till they were nothing but seeds and paste. She used to pretend that it was her mother, that she was cracking in her skull. Not because she held anything against the woman who had brought her into this world, rather she seemed like the easy, logical target.

"I want to watch when you do."
