All welcome! Getting Jack into the world out there! <3
Late Afternoon, Lavender Ethos, -8f/-22c, Partially Cloudy

Tired. She had been so, so very tired. The loneliness hadn’t bothered her; she could support herself as long as she needed to. Or so Jack had thought. Another day of wandering on her own, another day of getting more and more fatigued. At least the sequoia forest provided closure; towering redwood trees felt as if they welcomed her with open arms. It was so very different from the plains she had called home to the south, where there were wide-open fields as far as the eye could see. The change was well-received, though. What use was trying to escape her old traveling band if she remained in the past?

Pushing her way through dead brush, a wide-open clearing greeted her. Sunlight dappled through the branches, painting the snow where it touched, and a moment of anxiety passed through her. As much as she wanted change, every part of her resisted the winters here, the cold feeling like an anchor. But blue eyes examined the clearing, and as blurry as it was, Jackrabbit could picture the place in spring and summer. Flourishing, whole, green. She could settle here, maybe not permanently, but at least until the winter lifted.

And it wouldn’t hurt to take a little nap. There had been no one to report to, no one to make any sort of structure or rules. So she had to make them herself as she went. Settling in at the edge of the clearing in the brush, dark paws folded over each other before she rested her head on them, light blue eyes blinking as she scanned the clearing one last time to be sure there’d be no surprise to rouse her.
