They had been growing fast, and with all of the changes that came with it, Adonya had been sticking closest to her twin. Even Enera she avoided for the most part, and Woya as well as she tended to her actual children… she spent as much time as she could in the trees, practicing her pounces and play fighting with her sister in order to hone her skills to use on the younger kids. Watching them squirm brought her an immense amount of joy, regardless of how it seemed to irritate the adults in turn.
She didn’t understand what the big deal was. It wasn’t like she had hurt them! There were plenty of scary things in the world; she was teaching them survival skills, or at least that was how she would paint it when she was scolded for her behavior. It only made the discontentment with the rest of the pack grow within her. She sought freedom from the worldly burdens that the pack brought her… that particular day, she was in the woods practicing her hunting crouch, making attempts at rabbit warrens as the cool air of a crisp fall was starting to befall and summer began to fade to a close.
