Fall Spooktacular Festivities
Howdy, friends! Fall is upon us and with it has come many spooky activities scattered around RoW. Staff has compiled a collection of festivities that we hope manages to bring something for everyone. Most activities will be running through October 1 to November 15, so that you have enough time to partake in them!
What are the activities? Glad you asked!
- Advertising Contest
- Spooky Storytelling
- Trick-or-Treat REs
- Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt
- and lastly Word Swaps! (This one is just for fun and you can't earn any points, but can you spot them all?)
Please remember to read the rules for each event! Earning points can score you some scarily good prizes. Our prizes will be awarded in order of Gold, Silver, and Bronze — meaning the top three winners of total combined points! However, anybody who gets at least 10 points will be donned with a silly spooky avatar. Our gold winner can choose two of the below prizes, and silver and bronze can each select one.

- +1 to any fighting stat of your choosing
- Avatar set by Cade
- Signature or profile trinket by Cade
- or access to all the Winter Skins!
Please post to this thread to keep track of all points & their associated proofs. Make sure not to erase any staff notes.
Ad Contest
- Always read the rules of the site you are about to advertise on before leaving our ad. Breaking another site's guidelines is not only disrespectful and a bad reflection on RoW as a whole, but will also result in a point being deducted from your total in addition to that ad not counting.
- Do not post an ad if someone has already posted one recently. Most sites will specify a wait period between ads from the same site, if they do not please wait at least a week.
- Advertising should be done on legitimate, active sites. Adverts placed on sites with no IC activity for over a month will not count. New sites must have at least 10 characters/accounts in order to be counted.
- You must post the link to the ad you posted so that staff may verify it. If we cannot verify the advert, we will be unable to count it. Some sites do move ads between 'unaccepted' and 'accepted' subs - we will check for this for you.
- You must use the official advert provided here: https://relic-lore.net/showthread.php?tid=212 - custom or obsolete adverts won't count.
Ad Contest Scoring:
- 2 points for every verifiable ad on an animal based RP.
- 1 point for every verifiable ad on any other RP site.
Spooky Storytelling
The rules are pretty straight forward! For every thread that is completed and archived that involves stories being shared will earn you points. Threads must be 10 posts long and be archived before November 15th, and started no earlier than October 1st. Each character involved in the thread can claim one of the following:
Spooky Storytelling Scoring
- 1 point for a thread where your character is listening to a story told by someone else.
- 2 points for a thread where your character is telling an nonthematic, general story (this is a story that does not fit the requirements outlined below).
- 3 points for a thread where your character is telling a story involving their family history and/or spiritual/cultural beliefs, or is centered around Fall or Halloween-inspired themes.
- 5 points for a thread where your character is re-telling any story that they had heard earlier in the contest.
Treatbags
It is the return of trick-or-treating! RoW Staff have created 15 special RE's for you, each hiding within one of these treatbags! In order to play please use the code [ bag=# ] without spaces, replacing the # with the treat bag you would like for each character. If you are able to finish your special RE before November 15th you will be eligible not only for RE LP but also 5 spooktacular points!

Pumpking Hunting
(Please note, this event runs shorter, until Oct. 31 only!) 15 miniature pumpkins are now hidden around the site and each contain a letter! Find all 15 and unscramble the phrase! Once you do, PM it to Spirit of Wildwood or DM it on Discord to Tasha. No pumpkins will be hidden in IC, personal OOC, or archived threads. You do not need to submit proof for this, staff will update your point tracking post accordingly. Definitely do not share anything that will spoil locations or the secret phrase for anyone else.
Pumpkin Hunting Scoring
Anyone who correctly completes the phrase before October 31st will gain +10 Spooktacular Points!
