Noriaki Eastfall-Koizumi
It was less that she didn't mind the pain and more that the adrenaline pumping through her veins was enough to minimize it for the moment. Matos was quick to follow her, latching onto the bear's leg and sinking his teeth in. The air was filled with the sounds of snarling and the bear's bellows as it thrashed about, trying to dislodge them from its body.

And it worked, to some degree. Nori heard more than saw Leo hit the ground, heard Sam's scream that followed, and her heart dropped. Even more so when the girl ran up and latched onto the beast in turn, replacing Leo in the fight.

Shit.

Nori planted her forepaws against the bear's neck, twisting and jerking her head back and forth until something came loose. She still held part of the bear's flesh in her teeth as she fell backward, hitting the snowy ground with a sharp gasp. Dropping the chunk she'd ripped from the bear, she lunged forward again to sink her teeth into the forelimb of the shoulder Jessamy was connected to, hoping to at the very least hold it still so it couldn't swipe at her.

Blood had begun to speckle the snow.

Matos Eastfall-Slayer
The inky Eastfall-Slayer thought he had launched himself in time to prevent the bear from finding purchase. The larger predator however moved far quicker than anticipated and caught her flank. Matty was able to find his mark once the bear's forelimb swung back. Large canines latched on with all his fury. All the pain and guilt and anger he's felt over the last few weeks poured into his bite. The fierce need to protect only fueled him further.

The grizzly became overwhelmed but not deterred as it returned to all fours. A couple of powerful shakes had dislodged Leo, sending the tawny man tumbling. Fear wanted to leap from within him but Matos shoved it down. Not now, not especially with Sam jumping in the fray. He needed to remain clear minded and not distracted. Nori was next to be dislodged but seemed to take a chunk with her before immediately returning to tear another piece from the bear. The cousins held onto the forelimbs. Ebony and tawny doing their best to keep the bear from swiping. Its roar continued to deafen him, but Matos would not let go, could not let go. Not even when large canines came snapping at his face. So so close to his face. Snarling into fur, the young man yanked and yanked trying to pull the leg out from under the great beast. Maybe...just maybe they could get through this.
