It had only been a day since Eros had been rushed home and deposited into the infirmary for tender loving care - or something. Exhaustion was kind of a vague concept to the blonde child who just thought that meant you were really tired. Surely that meant he just needed a long nap and then everything would be back to normal. Instead she had awoken to an announcement that father would be leading alone for the foreseeable future and that had been confusing.
Plus she was basically grounded again and this time she had not even done anything wrong but it was to just “keep her safe”. Soon she would be a year old, they couldn’t keep treating her like a child forever just because Kalysta, Atlas, and Ally seemed to be constantly getting lost!
So lost in her own self pity, Hera had no idea that she had company stalking behind her. Maybe it had been hoping that she would lead it to a cache, but it had long grown bored and impatient and turned its attention to the cub itself. Normally a coyote wouldn’t attack a wolf in pack lands, but it was desperate, and hungry. And getting closer every second.
