Despite the snow that still covered the ground, and the freezing breezes that blew across the stone and seemed to reach right into your bones, Alexander knew that Spring was on its way. He felt happier, there was a spring in his step, and with Spring came puppies. His dearest Amé...He was glad that they'd had a chance to discuss the nearing season of Spring. But this fact wasn't necessarily at the forefront of his mind. When she was ready, she'd tell him, he was sure, but for now, he rested comfortably upon his high stone perch.
The temptation to retreat into his den was killing him. It would certainly be warmer in there, despite being almost completely surrounded by stone. He could curl up and wait for her to come in for the night and it would be the most comfortable place in the world. But as the sun began to set, he felt it was his duty to make sure that the pack was safe until the sun was gone. Whether or not it had any effect, he seemed to think so, and it was his ritual. So, he fared the cold, and simply stared towards the path leading away from Midnight Plateau's land. Besides, the large male was accustomed to the cold. He would endure for the safety of his pack.
