OOC;i'm going to put this around when Borden comes back if that's okay. :)
Borden and her had not been together long. It could be an opinion rather than fact. What was a couple months in love? Did it seem longer or shorter? To her with him time was fast, the days went by to quickly. And for the long part perhaps it was the feeling she'd known him, needed him all her life. It was in his short absent she could feel the strings tying her together wanting to untwine and scatter. Indeed she was growing to be tenterhooks without him. She wasn't sure if this was the new fluxiuation of hormones, or they were merely giving her a triple dose of what she would have felt. Sure she wasn't entirely alone, and she was being taken care of. She'd even gotten to know Vlar better. But Borden, she needed him. All she could do now was pace along the curve of the border's that faced the Mountain of Dire. She had paced, her little route apparently worn against the rest of the undisturbed ground.

It didn't take minutes to imagine the worst, but that's all she needed. She didn't believe Alexander would hurt him. But she could picture a new mountain wolf lunging at him without question, the bear wanting revenge, or even that curious bull moose making his journey harder. Though those were outragous she could see a beautiful stranger holding his attention. She was on the edge of letting tears fall. Her pride kept them tucked in, and she carried her head proud pacing back and forth like it would hurry his return. The last thing she wanted to do was come apart, he would never leave her again if he saw her in a state of hysteria. And once she cried she probably wouldn't be able to keep the lost little girl in her from taking hold. No, her paws pressed hard against the dust, and she stalked like lioness waiting for important news.

Breath realesed in silver wisps against the ebon landscape. She should be sleeping, but she could not. She could not keep her thoughts at bay for her mind to fall into dreamland. There was a mild guilt for what this might be causing her, her children. A harsh sigh fled form her throat, and she made herself fall to her rump. Sitting was better wasn't it? Eyes closed momentarily she did feel so tired, but she lacked her tawny heater of comfort. An idea sparked in her head, and she raised her nose to the velvet moon. A beautiful, but clearly lonely note rang loud and clear into the air. Love where are you?

<blockquote>Jaysyek’s voice weaved through the air like a song, its four simple words calling out to him when most creatures in the world had gone to sleep. Tired and travel-worn, Borden raised his head from his temporary resting spot against a fallen log. He had barely moved since he had stepped onto Grizzly Hollow soil and now his mate howled for his company. He should have traveled just a little more to see her, to sleep properly in the den like a leader should. He raised his head at first then pushed himself onto all fours before staggering toward her location.

He was quick to shorten the distance between them, appearing from behind a large tree trunk before approaching her from behind and sitting as close to her as he possibly could. <b>”I’m here, love,”</b> he crooned; his voice was raspy, like he hadn’t spoken since he had left. <b>”I’m here.”</b> The distance had been nearly unbearable, but now he no longer had to worry about Jayse. She seemed to have done all right in his absence, but he asked to just make sure. The loneliness in her tone somewhat had him concerned. <b>”How are you? Everything okay?”</b></blockquote>

The note was not expected to be meet, least she did not let herself believe she would see him. Maybe another lonely call of another wolf, maybe his in return, or nothing. At first the forest did not change, everything stayed the same like nothing had happened. The quiet pounded in her ears until the same hoot howl that called the forest swooped out of the trees asking who who. An exasperated sigh tangled with a feeble laugh. She was to be in this state for how much longer? Was it normal to feel so sad? That everything was so awful when it wasn't? It was rather maddening, and she almost felt like taking up a temporary bed in the nest of pine needles. That would not be safe, though surely Vlar and everyone else knew where she was. She was just so sick of feeling, of this invisible cage placed round her.

She tried to hold onto hope, but she felt it useless. She stood heading to turn round back for her proper bed when stirrings twisted her ears. Was she hearing things now? She whirled round onto her haunches with her eyes darting among the shadows for a renegade. Instead it was Borden. Borden! She shouted in her head, he looked worn but it was him. A weak smile edged onto the tips of her lips. She meant to met him but instead he came to her, sitting close to her. Her pale body quivered and she leaned into his form listening to his sweet voice. There was brief moisture at the corners of her eyes, but tears did not fall yet. She breathed him in, and slowly pulled back giving a closer inspection. She bit the edge of her lips and nodded her head to his questions. She was already much, much better knowing he was fine. Softly she planted a kiss to his chin. "I'm perfectly fine now. What of you? You look so tired!" Her black nose touched to his, and she met his eyes

<blockquote>Borden watched her as she nodded, listened as she replied... stood still as she took him in. He probably smelled a bit different and his agouti coat was probably matted and quite filthy from the places he had traveled through to find his way back. He assumed he looked thinner, too, but he hoped his coat would still make up for the weight he had lost. She replied that she was fine now; just hearing her voice made him smile. The tip of her muzzle pressed against his own nearly lackluster nose and he slightly chuckled.

<b>"Y-yeah, I am pretty tired, I'll admit,"</b> he sighed, looking into her eyes in attempt to decipher her exact emotions. <b>"I'm sorry I kept you waiting; I didn't anticipate being gone for that long. I... I ran into some complications; I didn't get to speak to Alexander after all that time. It was a waste of time just waiting along the territory borders for a glimpse of him; I would have been home sooner if I hadn't."</b> Vlarindara's words echoed back to him as he blinked, caressing his nose along her snout before returning her kiss at the corner of her lips. The worry and anxiety clearly showed across her face. A hint of guilt settled upon his shoulders; he hadn't meant to cause her so much distress. <b>"I've made up my mind to not leave you again for that much time,"</b> he murmured. <b>"I promise you that."</b></blockquote>

He was a bit of a picture of wear and tear than she'd seen him. He was hers, and in the different light she did not notice his thiness, nor how dirty he really was. In the morning she would surely fuss over him, get him to proper condition, but that didnt' matter now. In her eyes she saw only his handsome features, his intelligent eyes gleaming with life. Her touch was welcomed with a chuckle, and she weakly laughed too. She hadn't laughed, and the sound felt odd coming out of her throat, was odd in her ears yet pleasant she supposed. Pink tongue lapped at his cream cheeks while he spoke. She'd never thought this would be heaven, but it was after such time apart. Her gray ears drooped, and she held her tongue back when he said he never saw Alexander. The guilt, maybe frustration was hinted there, and she felt bad she had not been in a better state to come home to. But she herself was not use to these fickle feelings, least not their strength, their sway.

A content sigh passed from her lips as he kissed her. "Oh, Bord I'm sorry to hear that. But, maybe fate decided to intervine for the best?" she said, as if trying to assure herself at the same time. She returned a kiss to his lips before she tucked her head against his chest, listening to the thumping of his heart. Tender tones were heard threw his mass, and she weakly smiled leaning against him so close. It was a nice promise to hear, but one she wouldn't bound him to. But why would he have to part again? Inhaling a breath of cool air, she was silent for a moment lost in the warm embrace. But wait she had good news, terrific news! White tail skimmed 'long the top of the ground, "Borden, I should tell you in..a month or so I...we'll be..well I'm sure..uh.."

<blockquote><b>"Maybe,"</b> he contemplated. <b>"I don't see how, but... ah, well."</b> She leaned against him and he gently rested his head on top of hers. His voice eventually washed over the sound of his heart. <b>"I met a yearling a while ago,"</b> he whispered. <b>"I asked her to join Midnight Plateau, but she... she didn't make it to the pack meeting when we left. She was supposed to be... to be there. If meeting her instead of Alex was meant to be something better than what I had intended, then, I'll do my best to accept it."</b>

He wanted to tell her of the things she had told him, but for a moment like this, it seemed to complicated to share. All he had wanted and longed for was to feel her near... not fill her head with his assumptions, his frustration with Makita and Alex, and everything in relation to them. He allowed the silence to edge up between their conversation. She inhaled and he lifted his head to properly gaze down at her. Her tail wagged and one of his brows furrowed curiously when she spoke. <b>"Sure of what, dear?"</b> he questioned. He went ahead and assumed she would mention something about "puppies" or "their family" but he wanted to be sure... he wanted to hear it for himself if it was what he had anticipated. If not, well, to say the least, he was more than expectant to hear what she had to say. It had been too long since he had last heard her voice.</blockquote>

She shrugged her ashen shoulders, she'd meant maybe he shouldn't see Alexander. Maybe it would have been worse, something bad would have become of the two Alpha's trying to justify their feelings, causes, whatever the tag they wanted to place. She was worried they both would have let their emotions overide their logic or something. She listened to his bleak description about the yearling encounter. She did contemplate what had exactly gone wrong. It took a time for her brain to digest it. Cran titled slightly, as she took in a pause of air. "She expected you to be there, didn't she?" She answered calmly trying to keep her thoughts off their departure. It was hard not to, she had hoped Borden would be successful in mending the bridge between Alexander and him. This yearling seemed to have changed that, and she did want to know the details. She wasn't about to push.

She thought he might speak the words she couldn't, the words that were hard to say. She didn't know why they were. She didn't have her hand stuck in a cookie jar, but it felt like it. But what was the shame in admitting she was to bear children? It wasn't like they weren't his. It was obvious they were his they couldn't be anyone else's. "Puppies."she managed to breath out, tail thumping once more.

<blockquote>The Lyall meant to nod, but he plainly gave a weak and pained smile; maybe some other time or, in a little bit, if she really desired to know, he would tell her exactly what had happened. The torment in his expression, however, lifted as Jayse confirmed his assumptions. Within the next four weeks they would be welcoming new additions to their pack. <i>Puppies...</i> His tail wagged in time with hers, absolutely thrilled. <i>Him... a father...a family of his own.</i>

<b>"Oh, Jayse,"</b> he softly trilled. <b>"That's wonderful."</b> He nuzzled the side of his muzzle to her temple. <b><i>"Wonderful..."</i></b> </blockquote>

She smiled, and gave loving licks to his chin. She though overwhemled by this new chapter in her life could not wait to see how it continue. She had him, and was more secure she would be alright. She may not have never been a mother or be able to seek straight out advice, but she could learn. She knew she could count on him.

Giving a happy smile she nudged his chin, and pulled away. She stood to her feet, and took a stride toward the den. "Shall we head back? Let you catch up on your shut eye?" She asked, hoping herself to catch up on some much needed sleep.
ooc;if you want to wrap it here or reply one more time. :)

<blockquote><i>O O C | Sounds good. :}</i>

Borden's heart swelled in a wave of warmth, tickled by her kisses. Once she had withdrawn from him, she stepped away. <i>"Shall we head back?"</i> she asked. <i>"Let you catch up on your shut eye?"</i> Stiffly standing up from his sitting position, he walked unevenly to her side, careful look away briefly in order to hide his face when he winced. The ache in his joints would wear off eventually, but for now the burning sensations rippling throughout his muscles were only just tolerable. <b>"Yes, let's..."</b> He had expected Vlarindara to appear almost instantaneously upon their decision to depart from the edge of the territory; after all, she had escorted him to ensure that he reached Jayse safe and sound. When she didn't, however, he gently nosed his beloved's side, allowing her to walk one step ahead of him. The ghostly Second would probably appear in a matter of time to accompany her leaders back to the den.
