Daedalus
Daedalus was surprised when the young female agreed to his idea. He’d planned on it. A friendly smile was offered in her direction as he waited for to decide on their route, his tail curling round to rest comfortably on his paws. "Let's go further up the mountain," The timber wolf raised a brow, his tail flicking curiously. Leaning in close to speak softly into her ear he murmured: <b style="color:#8a321c">"You’re sure? It will be colder up there." Amber eyes glanced up the mountain in the direction she had chosen as a teasing smile skimmed along his raven lips. Young wolves didn’t care about the cold – they yearned for thrill and adventure. Daedalus could relate, he was the same himself. But he was a little concerned that, should they climb all the way up the mountain, the girl would grow tired and things would turn more serious. Being the older individual, if only by a few months, the timber wolf was holding himself personally responsible for her safety.

He stepped back as she breezed confidently passed him, ready to scale the moonlight ascent up the mountain. A low purr rumbled deep within his throat as he watched her pass by. He waited for her to get up the first rock, standing protectively behind her, before he followed after; quickly clambering up each ledge on either side of her. Glancing ahead, he noticed the beaten path getting narrower, moving onto steeper cliffs and dangerous new heights. Daedalus was intrigued what the girl would do when she noticed this – but he expected that she was just as stubborn as him and refuse to turn back. Lean muscles tensed as he pulled himself up another boulder. <b style="color:#8a321c">"Do you know this mountain well?" He asked holding back a grin, curious for her answer.

<b style="color:#8a321c">"By the way-" He called to her, seemingly out of nowhere. <b style="color:#8a321c">"You never did tell me your name.."

Borlla Tainn-Argyris
The other ear flicked as he spoke into one, but she couldn't keep the smirk from her face. <b style="color:#32527a">"You asked me, and I told you," With a huff, her tail flicked and she ascended the mountain, doing everything in her power to keep herself ahead of him, mostly her own teasing gesture, but also because she was sure that it would get colder (even if it had been a fact that she hadn't noted until he really brought it up. Movement kept the blood flowing. Being young didn't make her weak, besides all of that, and she wouldn't let anything he said change her mind. Her paws easily moved against the rock, and she remained utterly focused, determined not to slip or slow down.

Borlla stopped only to let him catch up, and took a moment to see what was ahead of them. It looked... Unpleasant, and for the girl who'd only really been near the mountain once, this actually meant very little to Borlla. In fact, despite the daunting look of it, she felt more excitement than anything else. Her tail wagged and she looked over at him as he came up beside her. Ears twisted back, and she wasn't sure whether or not to lie. It was tempting. <b style="color:#32527a">"Not at all," Borlla said, as if this was the most amazing thing she'd ever said. The fact that she was climbing this mountain and doing it without any knowledge of said mountain must have been amazing! She moved again, heading for the steep, narrow path.

<b style="color:#32527a">"Borlla Tainn," She barked, hardly glancing over her shoulder as she did so, and slipped up a bit of a few loose stones. <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

Daedalus
She certainly was a feisty one. Cocky too. "You asked me, and I told you," She flicked her tail defiantly behind her as she moved in front to take the lead. A mischievous grin – lingering on a pout, pulled at his lips briefly as he watched her from behind, another purr rolling off his tongue. He was beginning to get more excited about the night ahead, the girl was amusing and this was sure to be a more entertaining night than he had first expected. As they moved further up the mountain and onto a small dirt-trail, it was clear to Daedalus that the young female wasn’t in need of much help. It was perfectly clear to him that she was fully capable of taking care of herself – and he began to wander if the reason she was out here so late, away from her pack was because they failed to appreciate her: chained her up too tight. A dark grin spread across his lips: Daedalus was all up for a little rebellion.

There was no lack of pace with the girl, she made sure to keep a fast pace. Daedalus was impressed as he trailed up the path behind her, feeling his muscles work to keep up with her. Of course, the timber wolf would always maintain that he could outrun her given the opportunity: but not tonight. He had already travelled many miles and he did not wish to exhaust himself too early in the evening when he still had many miles ahead. Nostrils flared as they ascended, the air getting stale in his lungs with the lack of oxygen. His limbs were working hard now from the constant climbing but the rush it gave him, pulsing hot through his veins, would insure that he’d never turn back. As they approached the narrow ledge the girl gave him the very answer he had expected. "Not at all," His tail swayed arrogantly behind him as he glanced towards her, huffing sarcastically.

The path got steeper, yet the girl refused to slow her pace. Daedalus on the other hand forced his movements to slow into a careful stroll as he watched her bound on up ahead. At times he could just as reckless as she was, but not tonight, when he was to watch out for her. His tail curled awkwardly to maintain his balance as his paws crossed over to step one precisely in front of the other. "Borlla Tainn," She barked loudly as she glanced back over her shoulder. At that same moment Daedalus frowned, noticed her foot slipping and some small rocks breaking away from underneath her. His hackles rose as he immediately paused, legs tense and rigid as he held his ground. A sharp growl shot from his throat as he snapped his jaws wildly in warning. To Borlla it might have seemed aggressive, but he was only concerned for her safety. Only when he heard the sound of the rocks settling a few feet down did Daedalus finally move. Quickly he made his way to Borlla’s side, paying careful attention to the crumbling edge, his muzzle reaching out to try and stroke gently along the thick fur of her neck. <b style="color:#8a321c">"Take it a little slower next time…" He murmured, his voice quiet and reassuring.

aaaaah your posts. -collapses in shame-
Her tail curled over her back as she stood there, a small shudder running down her spine as she listened to the rocks clattering away. It wasn't that big of a deal. Just a slip up and the worst that would have happened was that she would have fallen over, but it still made her angry. Her hackles rose as he barked, and her tail lashed, honey-hued eyes whipping over her shoulder to shoot lasers at him. A heavy gust of air came from her lungs, traveling out of her parted jaws and she stood there for a moment, shooting daggers at the stony ground instead. She was fine. The last thing Borlla wanted to know was that a carbon copy of Indru had followed her up the mountain.

Her hackles fell, and she felt him come up beside her, causing the fur along her spine to rise. <b style="color:#32527a">"I'm fine," She insisted weakly, though not from the fall that she'd almost taken. Stupid boy, Borlla thought, shivering as his nose touched her fur. Her chest heaved for a moment as her travels caught up with her, and she moved ahead of him again, as if nothing had just happened. She did take it slower, however. Her eyes looked about as she traveled up, trying to catch her breath as the air began to thin. The path only seemed to get more rugged ahead, and Borlla suddenly turned, finding her paws safely upon a flat ledge, not unlike the one she'd perched on a while ago. Though jumping was certainly not an option. <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

Daedalus
Her tail lashed through the air aggressively as she snarled out at her before her eyes swiftly turned to meet him. Her honeyed eyes once warm and childlike shot a cold glare at him – almost threatening to a degree, had he not been that much larger than her. Daedalus’ felt his lips twinge as he swallowed back an instinctive growl. Whether she liked it or not he was the more dominant individual there and had he wished to discipline her, he would have. But the male respected the fact that Borlla wished to be more independent and take command and so no such action was taken by the timber wolf. As Borlla released a heavy sigh into the cool night air, Daedalus inhaled sharply. It had been a close call and he could feel his heart pounding in his chest at the mere thought of what could have happened and so despite the girl’s scornful glances, the male’s amber eyes refused to look away.

A quick indiscrete sweep of his eyes down her frame was all that was needed for him to assess that she was unharmed. "I'm fine," Her hackles rose and a soft shiver racked through her core as he tried to comfort her. Daedalus took a single step back and canted his shin in understanding. He didn’t believe her, but if she didn’t want any fuss made over it then the male was willing to comply. The male took another breath, his chest expanding as he took in a large lungful of air as he prepared to start moving again. As Borlla moved away to continue ahead Daedalus waited to give a rough shake of his pelt, shaking off the nerves that had been crawling across his skin. He caught up with her further up at a ledge, where he paused quietly beside her to look out down towards the territory beneath them. The view was stunning, even in the dark when shadows pooled in to every contour in the landscape. His tail swayed contentedly behind him as he glanced briefly to Borlla and then back down to the view, spotting a network of rivers snaking through the maze of trees. <b style="color:#8a321c">"What’s it like… Swift River?"

From the ledge, she looked down, oogling at the height of it all. Perhaps they didn't need to go any higher. It was already getting fairly cold and it was certainly harder to breathe. If they went any higher, maybe they'd see snow. Her ears perked up at this thought, though she kept it to herself. Snow wasn't a rarity, of course, but it would still be fun to see it. Maybe if he was still around when the sun came up, they could go a little higher. Just to see if there was any snow. When the question was asked, she looked up and over at him, then out at the actual landscape. It was dark, but it was easy enough to see from this height the trailing waters of Relic Lore and the forests.

<b style="color:#32527a">"It's pretty nice. I've never been anywhere else, so they're my family. Some of them actually are blood, too." She wondered if her answer was biased at all, then went on. <b style="color:#32527a">"So, where are you going, exactly? People hardly 'pass through' in Relic Lore." Turning her eyes on him, the tip of her tail twitched. It was a true enough statement. She couldn't remember a wolf she met that she hadn't seen later on. Or maybe it was the fact that she never made any real friends that she was under this impression. <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

<b style="color:#8a321c">"" "It's pretty nice. I've never been anywhere else, so they're my family. Some of them actually are blood, too." Daedalus turned to look at Borlla, his ears perking forwards and his head tilting subtly to one side. The male wondered if she was just saying that to shrug it off - but he wouldn’t pry, not for the moment at least. <b style="color:#8a321c">"Sounds nice.." He murmured sincerely, a flash of anxiety washing over his lucid gaze as he turned away from her, casting a shadow across his handsome face. Out of site his lips stiffened as he recomposed himself before gingerly turning back to look at her. ¬ "So, where are you going, exactly? People hardly 'pass through' in Relic Lore." She seemed a little suspicious of him, but Daedalus hardly cared.

After a moment of hesitation Daedalus gave a casual shrug as he breathed out a sigh. Fiery amber eyes glanced briefly up to her face before the he broke the eye-contact and he shifted his gaze to settle on the scenery below. <b style="color:#8a321c">"Nowhere in particular." He breathed, his ears perking up as his eyes swept along the meandering trail of the river. <b style="color:#8a321c">"Though, I might be inclined to stay if I find a place that suites me." A soft smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he finally looked back to Borlla again, this time not glancing away. <b style="color:#8a321c">"It would be nice to find a pack and settle down…" He paused, his smile growing wider – this time it reached his eyes. <b style="color:#8a321c">"But I’m in no rush." He added with a playful flick of his tail.

Borlla Tainn-Argyris
Borlla only nodded slowly at his absent little response. It was nice. Compared to him, she supposed she was lucky. Since he was by himself all the time, she probably would have preferred at least having some captive wolf to talk to. And who better captive than a pack mate? If he got bored, what did he do? Out of the corner of her eye, she saw him move, but paid no attention to it. He seemed strange, toothsome, but strange. She was tempted to ask, but nerves oddly got the best of her. Instead, she merely shuffled her shoulders, and kept her eyes out.

Nowhere? She kept her eyes out still, trying to see if she could find any sign of Swift River through the trees. It was mostly impossible, what with all the trees, and she exhaled slowly, finding it harder afterwards to inhale. Stupid altitude. Feeling eyes on her, she finally forced herself to look over, meeting his eyes. Without help, her ears twisted back under his eyes. That, mingled with that smile of his, had Borlla in a slight haze. All of this...It just smacked her in the face, then flew over her head. Her own tawny tail swept once over the stone. <b style="color:#32527a">"Indru would like you," Borlla half-lied. If Indru knew that any of this was happening, he probably wouldn't be happy. <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."
