She certainly was a feisty one. Cocky too. "You asked me, and I told you," She flicked her tail defiantly behind her as she moved in front to take the lead. A mischievous grin – lingering on a pout, pulled at his lips briefly as he watched her from behind, another purr rolling off his tongue. He was beginning to get more excited about the night ahead, the girl was amusing and this was sure to be a more entertaining night than he had first expected. As they moved further up the mountain and onto a small dirt-trail, it was clear to Daedalus that the young female wasn’t in need of much help. It was perfectly clear to him that she was fully capable of taking care of herself – and he began to wander if the reason she was out here so late, away from her pack was because they failed to appreciate her: chained her up too tight. A dark grin spread across his lips: Daedalus was all up for a little rebellion.
There was no lack of pace with the girl, she made sure to keep a fast pace. Daedalus was impressed as he trailed up the path behind her, feeling his muscles work to keep up with her. Of course, the timber wolf would always maintain that he could outrun her given the opportunity: but not tonight. He had already travelled many miles and he did not wish to exhaust himself too early in the evening when he still had many miles ahead. Nostrils flared as they ascended, the air getting stale in his lungs with the lack of oxygen. His limbs were working hard now from the constant climbing but the rush it gave him, pulsing hot through his veins, would insure that he’d never turn back. As they approached the narrow ledge the girl gave him the very answer he had expected. "Not at all," His tail swayed arrogantly behind him as he glanced towards her, huffing sarcastically.
The path got steeper, yet the girl refused to slow her pace. Daedalus on the other hand forced his movements to slow into a careful stroll as he watched her bound on up ahead. At times he could just as reckless as she was, but not tonight, when he was to watch out for her. His tail curled awkwardly to maintain his balance as his paws crossed over to step one precisely in front of the other. "Borlla Tainn," She barked loudly as she glanced back over her shoulder. At that same moment Daedalus frowned, noticed her foot slipping and some small rocks breaking away from underneath her. His hackles rose as he immediately paused, legs tense and rigid as he held his ground. A sharp growl shot from his throat as he snapped his jaws wildly in warning. To Borlla it might have seemed aggressive, but he was only concerned for her safety. Only when he heard the sound of the rocks settling a few feet down did Daedalus finally move. Quickly he made his way to Borlla’s side, paying careful attention to the crumbling edge, his muzzle reaching out to try and stroke gently along the thick fur of her neck. <b style="color:#8a321c">"Take it a little slower next time…" He murmured, his voice quiet and reassuring.
