Gent Lieris
all welcome, but special mention to @Aideen and @Miccah.

The past few months had done nothing to wear at the familiarity of the land he was slipping into. Cobalt Corrie had his heart and his pride, having flourished greatly under his and Raela's command; yet Relic Lore would always be home to the looming beast. The choking forest with its thickets and thorns welcomed him like an old friend, the growth caressing through his blue-black fur and the shadows of the canopy obscuring his hulking form. He could taste the pack ahead on the tip of his tongue, the markers steadily growing in strength. Secret Woodlands. The memories were abundant, a reverie he had happily been consumed by the moment the wood had transitioned into Northern Eden.

His long strides drew to a steady close. Gent took a deep breath, a smile curling his wolfish lips. His thick tail swished behind him, and for a moment the alpha merely took in the warm stillness of the air and the chittering of the forest around him, felt the vibrations of the loamy earth and the strength of his travelled legs. The solitude of the five day journey had done him well, but he was ready for that stretch to be broken.

Tipping back his skull, he broke through the summer air with his voice, strong and amiable in timbre as it requested the presence of the monarchs of Secret Woodlands.

OOC: Just gonna throw in some trouble.

She. Was. So. Bored.

Suddenly Kaela could understand why the alphas’ fiery daughter got into such trouble. There was simply nothing to do here in the Woodlands. It was almost enough to make the monochrome girl give up her plans and take off for someplace more exciting.

Then again, she could bring the wolves of the area some excitement, could she not? It was not the kind of fun they would enjoy, but they shouldn’t let their guard down just because everything was so drab all the time.

Kaela was trotting around the border, hoping to maybe find Flair and start a fight, or run into Zilas and work on gaining his trust. Just do something to relieve her tedium.

That was when she heard a call. It was not to her, but Kaela couldn’t help turning towards it. Who was this wolf calling at the border? That hadn’t happened before, at least no that she’d heard. As she made her way through the trees, she smelled someone new. They didn’t seem to carry a pack scent, but as the girl was new to the area she could be wrong.

The man was large – much larger than the curious young woman on the other side of the border. His sheer size made her fur prickle. This was not a fight to pick, so the girl simply sat a respectable distance from the man and stared at him.

Aideen Athesila

Of course there was another call at the borders just when she had finally found the time to give her infirmary a proper clean out; Something it had sorely needed for months. Raising her head to listen, the queen frowned as she wondered if she could trust her husband to answer this time. But then she recognized the voice, and her scowl shifted into a smile. Swiftly she brushed the worst dust from her fur and made her way towards the caller, tail wagging high over her back, this was a welcome visitor at the Woodland borders.

Aideen Smoke Athesila passed nimbly through the thicket, soon arriving at the borders to greet her guest. The dark man was not alone, but, to her disappointment, the wolf who’d come to the borders were not her equally dark counterpart. Instead her monochrome second sat across from the burly man, starring him down silently. Aideen looked at her with furrowed brows; That is no way to treat a guest! But her attention quickly shifted back to the blue-eyed man, smile once more on her face; “Gent, how good to see you!” She stepped forwards to touch her cheek to her friend’s, greeting him happily. It had been too long since they had heard from the Notch; So long in fact, that the news Gent brought would be quite shocking.

Throwing Miccah in here for all the dramas <3

Did she think he did not notice? Lately, his mate was...different. Over the years he had learned to read her, even before they had become lovers, and so he knew that she was irritated at him. Something had set her off the past few weeks, and he was determined to find out. The call at the borders did not go ignored, as he would admit to doing so lately. Maybe ignored just wasn't the right word he was looking for, however, what else could describe his actions? Why bother when all that would come would be disappointment and desertion? Aideen had handled them well enough, and he shouldered the other burdens of being leader. Was his outlook a little bleak? Possibly. Was it selfish? Definitely. Yet, the deaths of Nina and Rayne, along with the desertion of Inali and others he cared for...it didn't let him think of anything else.

Shaking his head, he made his way to the borders. This was one call he didn't want to miss and as he made his way to Gent, he realized others were there already. His mate being one of them, and their female second. Aideen's voice was cheery, and Miccah let a smile appear on his face as he spoke. "Gent!" It was good to see his old friend again - something that alleviated the darkness within him just a little.

Gent Lieris
To his mild surprise, it was not the either of the alphas that were to appear first from within the gloom of the thicket. Gent's pale eyes settled instead upon a sandy colored woman who spoke not a word. He could notice the static in her fur, the slight apprehension at his presence, but she chose not to assert herself otherwise. Instead, she was oddly silent and merely sat herself upon the ground to... stare at him. Gent snorted softly as his thoughts only commented 'weird.'

Aideen arrived swiftly enough to curb whatever tension might have then proceeded to grow between them. His eyes lit up as he saw her, Nina's jubilant successor. He'd been unsure of the petite woman and her mate the first he'd seen of them, but with time and the continued strength of the Woodlands it was clear that the one-eyed matriarch had made a wise decision in relinquishing her power as she had. Miccah, his dark and muscled counterpart, also appeared within short notice. He knew that the smile he was met with was rare, and was sure to return it.

"Hello you two. I'm glad to see that the Woodlands seems well. I'm sorry it's been so long since I've visited. How are the children?"

OOC: Sorry didn't get an alert for this.

Kaela did not flinch away as the stranger returned her stare, but said nothing. Aideen was quick to arrive, casting a disapproving look at her and greeting the dark man. Not a stranger, but a friend of the pack. That did not help her relax. Was this man joining them? He could throw a wrench in her plans… he would be a hard wolf to best.

The second alpha was right behind his mate, enthusiastically calling out to this ‘Gent’. Who was he? How did they know him? Did packs work together? This might be harder than she thought. She would have to observe this meeting and determine her best plan of action.
