Finally resigning herself to the fact she probably wouldn't find her mother and that it was best for her to return to Hearthwood the pup started her journey home. It was all she could do and there she would wait for Inna to return which she hoped would be soon.
The smudge didn't stop until the giant red trees of the Kingswood came into view and by the time she reached them she was thirsty and hungry. She knew she would be home soon and quickened her pace until she finally reached the border of Hearthwood. Not pausing she crossed it and headed straight for the river where she was able to have her fill. Once she'd satisfied her thirst she made her way to the den to see if her mother had returned and found that she hadn't. The little black pup left the den and slowly made her way to one of the caches that her mother had showed her and started digging in to find something to eat.
