Doon perked up at the mention of the woman being from the south and then again at her mention of starting a pack there,
Might be easier than I thought finding someplace to settle down, hopin' this goes well. Doon didn't want to come right out and say he'd like to come along just yet, didn't feel right asking someone he'd only just met so he let his thoughts and gaze wander the surrounding area trying to imagine spring,
"I sure am lookin' forward to seein' the spring, must be a sight to see with everything bein' all green and such. I myself come form a place where there's more brown than green far south o'here, 'cept when the storms come through bad. Then's been the only time I'd seen so much water and plants around, course," Doon toward his potential friend,
"It still ain't as much water as I already been seein' here that's the truth."
Doon's mind worked a moment on the dilemma of wanting to join the woman as she visited other packs, if he didn't find one he liked then there was always the option of offering to help create hers. Then he remembered that he'd already mentioned he was looking for some place to settle and that made the asking much easier. Doon stood,
"So you know I been lookin' for someplace to call my own so to speak, you mind if I join you? I can assure you that I can pull my own weight ma'am, ain't no cause to worry bout that. If none of the other packs are to my liking then I offer to help you build yours up." Remembering he was still on the lookout for his sister, Doon added,
"I still have got some personal business needs takin' care of but I promise that it won't distract me from my duties in the pack. I just can't promise how long I'd be there, if it calls me away I'd need to go." Doon hoped the woman understood,
that part of his life he didn't want to get into with his new acquaintance. Not yet.
