The Lennox woman wasn’t sure what she expected Flair’s reaction to be but when it came it came so dramatically that the younger woman couldn’t help but giggle. This was the most fun that she had had in a while. It was so nice to just not worry and to feel like she had a friend she could tell things to. Finley had long become used to living in her quiet, polite, put together persona, it was nice to let the mask slip away for a minute.

Shaking her head, the agouti woman giggled again, God no, not in love with him. That would be crazy, just a little crush.” Then with a dopey kind of grin she added, ”Which sounds so childish to say out loud.” Cubs had crushes, adults were supposed to be more serious than that, but she didn’t know how else to describe it. The smile slipped a little, ”I don’t know if I should tell him, so many things could go wrong. He could think I’m crazy, it could hurt Siyet. But, no, Ryder’s dad isn’t a factor, he took off first thing he could and I haven’t seen him since.” What a jerk.

The more they talked the more…queasy she was beginning to feel. They had been in there for a couple of hours giggling away at this point. The whole log felt almost like it was starting to roll away or something. Closing her eyes for a moment, she swallowed hard, then blinking back at Flair, ”We should probably head back before they come looking for us and we have to share.” She just wanted to curl up and go to sleep, and maybe a little part of her hoped Ryder and Caspian would be sleeping next to Jethro so she would have an excuse to slip in between them all.

The heat seemed to have grown even more inside the log, going from a cozy warmth, to hot enough that Flair started panting, a yawn escaping her as well; How late is it anyway? She couldn’t tell how long they’d been chatting like this, each topic flowing into the next with more ease than the fiery woman had ever felt in a casual conversation.

Finley’s giddiness remained infectious, her giggle prompting a smile from her companion; which persisted even as her brows furrowed a little in confusion. Flair didn’t have much experience with love or crushes, let alone the subtler details; Isn’t it all the same thing? She’d have to defer to Fin on that – though, the one time she’d had a crush it hadn’t seemed at all childish. It was clear that the younger woman had much more experience though, dismissing Ryder’s father with seeming nonchalance, much more worried about her feelings for Jethro, and how he might respond.

In the end, all Flair could do was nod, feeling wholly inadequate in advising her pack-mate on this matter. She wanted to say something reassuring, but she truly had no idea what to suggest – as it seemed like Fin didn’t even really want to act on her feelings. Ultimately it would be up to her, Flair couldn’t do much either way, and thinking about it was starting to give her a headache. So, when the agouti woman suggested they call it a night, she agreed with a smile: “Probably.”

She still had a lot of things to think over, maybe even more now, though it would have to wait until she’d gotten some sleep.
