Inkheart
<b style="font-size:12px; font-family:georgia;">For once in a long time, so long that he didn't remember the last, he was contemplating how he would fit in with certain wolves. So far, all the packs sounded interesting and each one unique but Phineas' had gotten his full attention. To be within a pack that had started with him and might give him a spot amongst the ranks that he deemed acceptable, it sounded fantastic. Though Phineas hadn't said anything about the rank Inkheart would get if he joined, the fiery-eyed beast felt confident that he could make it happen regardless. At the moment, that seemed like the only choice.

Don't get him wrong, though. Athena and Ava had convincing points as well, but it wasn't new. Ava had told him that the pack was tight-knit, like family, and they spurred off of love for one another but Inkheart didn't want to join a pack like that if he would need to earn their love. Inkheart wanted to earn things by his own terms. Even with his thinking he had traveled to lord knows where without realizing his light-footed journey. The squish of muck beneath his paws was enough to trigger his irritable senses but he wasn't afraid of a little mess.

The place looked miserable and barely touched by wolves, it was unclaimed and tracks seemed few and far between. Pine trees within didn't provide much of a path for the loner but he could manage. It was a welcome obstacle to the wanderer.

Rowanberry looked around. What was this place? She did not recognize the scent, nor her surroundings. By the time she had spent to get here, Rowanberry assumed that she was far from her den. So what had from her here? Instinct? She sniffed the air uncertainly. The crisp breeze told her that this piece of land was unclaimed. So who did that scent belong to? Was it a pack wolf? Unlikely. No pack wolf living in the better areas would want to claim this piece a miserable land.

A small sound underneath her paw told Rowanberry that she had stepped in the muck. The youth lifted her foot up, preparing o lick off the sticky stuff plastered to her foot. The brown liquid had covered up her soft golden fur, and made it stiff and hard to walk with. Although she did not fancy it, Rowanberry reluctantly licked it off with her tounge. Yuck. She continued onwards at a lilting pace.

A sudden glimpse of fur brough Rowanberry to a sudden stop. The scent was way stronger now, almost overpowering. She gave herself a shake, as though to calm her beating heart, then stalked out, tail swishing from wide to side. "Dreay place, isn't it," she said softly, her tone cool and measured.

Inkheart
<b style="font-size:12px; font-family:georgia;">Though this was indeed a dreary, unhappy piece of land it likely would have been a place he would have claimed back in his younger days. Now, however, he saw things a lot differently and didn't look to make a pack of any sort. All that was planned was to join one of the countless packs within Lore, one that would allow him to benefit within the packs as well as help others. Ink wasn't entirely selfish, he wanted to help out the superiors and assist those that were lower ranked than him. Growing up had made him better, wiser and stronger which he was thankful for as he was done running others away.

A sniff alone alerted him of presence and he pulled his defined muzzle to the aforementioned stranger, blinking in silence. <b style="font-size:12px; font-family:georgia;">Dreary, he agreed with a twinkle in his eyes, <b style="font-size:12px; font-family:georgia;">or simply forgotten. The land could have been thriving years ago but now it was quiet and lived a rather solitary life. <b style="font-size:12px; font-family:georgia;">Do you have a den around here? By her tone and use of word he assumed that maybe she came around here often or perhaps visited somewhere that may have taken up camp. From the wind alone he wouldn't think anyone would have a den here but there may be a sick, sadistic being who saw pleasure in sleeping in such a dull environment.

<b style="font-size:12px; font-family:georgia;">Names Inkheart, he invited her to lend her own name back as it would benefit the both to be acquainted if there were to cross paths again. That was to say that they both stayed within Lore--his intention was to stay but he couldn't speak for her. She still looked young, after all... plenty of chances to run away from everything like he had.
