OOC: I don't usually like to start things when I'm in the middle of another thread (I'm in the middle of 2) but I can't resist her getting in trouble and what the hey, it's liquid time. :3 Anyone can play the wolf and anyone apart of Swift River pack is welcome.
---
Makita pushed herself along in an energetic romp through the snow. She twitched her nose when she smelt the smell of another wolf. She stopped momentarily, her tail standing up in the air and wagging gently. Her dark golden eyes searched around through the trees that surrounded her short brown body. Nothing stirred, nothing sounded. Seeing this, Makita let the edges of her lips curve into a smile and she bounded away in a playful run like she used to do when she was little, a wee pup. Only happy thoughts were running through her mind - even though she had so many things to be sad about - as it was a good day for her. The sunlight filtered through the trees and made her back warm - dispite the wet and cold snow that rested on the forest floor. She had had a good hunting day and was filled with a plump rabbit and a mouse she managed to grab as it scurried away from it's winter den.
---
Makita burst into a very quick run, as being fast was one of her skills. The scent of wolf became stronger and stronger, to the point that Makita slowed to nearly a stop, taking very small paw steps forward. Her eyebrows - or what a wolf has of eyebrows - creased and her dark golden eyes narrowed. Her smile faded and her tail dropped as she took another paw step forward. That's when she realized. She was on Swift River Pack land. She stopped, but it was too late. In front of her, a little to the right, was a wolf. A low white emitted from her chest as fear took over her. She had been chased out plenty of times, but this wolf was of great size and her day was ruined if things went badly. Nervousness coursed through her veins as she watched the wolf, and slowly, very slowly, the wolf turned.

OOC: Ruh Row!

The search for his brother had been futile - all traces of the younger wolf having disappeared with the new snowfalls in this area. He had been criss-crossing this valley for a week or so, sleeping where he could and finding what meals were stupid enough to put themselves in front of him. As it stood, he was traveling near the different smells and markings of what appeared to be pack territory. Had his brother gone past it? Perhaps joined with another pack? As he was turning to go back along the other edge of the markings, he spotted another wolf. Judging by her size and more.. leggy look - she seemed young. Much younger than he was at any rate. The larger male froze, ice blue eyes piercing out of his dark mask towards her own amber ones.

Was she a wolf of this pack? Perhaps.. She was young...but hopefully old enough to know better than to go into the territory of another pack without an escort. He heard the whine and frowned, pulling his lips back in a silent growl - only to scent the wind that had blown towards him.. from the female. No.. she didn't smell of this land.. or as if she'd encountered many wolves at all. A loner like him? Perhaps... He had a choice to make.. he could chase her away to continue the search for his brother.. or he could make...nice.. and attempt to find Kliel that way. "Ho there!" His voice was gruff....but clear and... without malice. Well. Mostly.

Makita's ears pricked at the voice. Her paws hit one another and she came tumbling in the snow, rolling head first through it. She giggled to herself at her playful crash, and lifted her head. She became serious as her dark golden eyes focused in on an older wolf, older than her at least. He stood tall and large, with eyes almost as bright a blue as her sister - even though she didn't think anyone in the whole world had eyes as bright and beautiful as her sister's. His fur was a mixture of creams that faded to grey and white. He was a wolf that Makita certainly didn't want to mess with.

His voice called out across the crisp air between them. His voice was stiff, hard. His eyes were the same, dull and serious. Something made him curious, like he was searching for something. She sniffed the air with her dark black nose. He didn't appear to be of a pack, even though the smell of a pack was surrounding her. It would be seconds until a wolf finally found them, and that would be horrible for them to find both her and the other, as they were usually more fierce while chasing them out then. Makita nodded her head to him before narrowing her eyes. "Hello, there." she murmured cautiously. Her eyes watched him as he stared at her, his hard blue eyes making her drop her eyes to the place she had fallen in the snow, as white as her mother, moments ago.

Nervously, Makita waited for a response. She knew nothing of this wolf - but she did know she needed to get out of here.

OOC : Not a problem. Small post is small. :)

"What..cat got your tongue?" He saw an opportunity here.. if he could get her to trust him.. he could use her... There were plenty of wolves in this and, he was sure.. and if he could just get one or two pawns.. he could very well find his brother. Most yearlings were lovesick fools and would do anything for a kind word or two. The male adjusted his stance and sauntered towards the female quietly, stopping when he was a few steps away from her. Of course, he changed his path and began a small circuit around her, moving slowly, inspecting her from every angle. "A very lovely fur color and pattern..I have to admit.." He stopped when he was back in front of her and sat down, curling his tail around his feet. "Pardon my... rude greeting. The name is Kenit."

"Cats can't even get close to me." she narrowed her eyes, her voice stubborn, though it wasn't rude or cruel. As the wolf came close to her - he was very large - she let her chest puff out as far as she could and stood as tall as her delicate paws and short legs would let her and held her head high. Her golden eyes watched the wolf suspiciously. She hadn't had the best luck with strangers so far in her life, she wasn't going to automatically trust him. A very lovely fur color and pattern.. I have to admit. she listened to him say. His voice had changed, not so edgy, but more of a professional, complex tone.

Her ears perked at his name, Kenit. Her eyes narrowed suspiciously. It was as if it was casual for him to just blurt out his name to strangers - which certainly wasn't the case with Makita. She had been chased away and attacked more times than she could count and trust didn't come easy with Makita. "Wonderful. I - she hesitated, her eyes watching Kenit's brilliant blue. "I guess you could call me Makita.

Makita watched Kenit circle around her, settling in front of her and wrapping his light tail around his paws. She tilted her head out of curiosity. "So, Kenit, why are you here? You are too thin to possibly be a Swift River wolf.. am I correct?" she asked, knowing how it was like to live the harsh life of a loner.

Triell Tainn
<blockquote>Whether it was the pure amount of time, and lack of knowing what to do with it, or something else the young lad was out scouting. At first it was the different parts of the grove, sometimes where he'd chased the mice. Others where he hadn't stepped foot. Today Indru's scent marker of Swift River lands intrigued him enough he was following it. Time to time someone who didn't belong passed the line, a natural occurrence he'd learn, but to him he was only outlining his home carried by his brother's scent. To the young Tainn tresspassing was sorta a no brainer. There was no mistake you had placed foot into someone's home when it was stated. Yet some little blobs couldn't wrap their head around this. This was one of those times. At first a girl's scent caught his attention, he paused taking a little time to fully decipher it. Of coarse he could have assumed she belonged, but she did not smell anything like Swift River wolves. This Triell knew was not good. If she was looking for a home the decent thing would have been to howl for the leader, the pup knew that. Sighing, with furrowed brows his long legs traced her wandering path.

The path was soon met by another stranger's tracks, and black ears pinned back to his skull. Who did these wolves think they were to go prancing around. The black lad paused, hesitating to continue or find Indru. Hmm, he really didn't want to leave the wolves wandering further. Surely someone else would notice. Hmm, clear on his choice he pressed on knowing he could call for someone if needed. It was not long till Triell found the two wolves, one a large brute, and the girl. The heat rushed down his spine, and his hair stood on end like a wild hyenas. The young Tainn was only eight, nearly nine months, but he was a good sized pup growing into his large paws and was the least bit scared.<b>"I think neither of you are Swift River wolves."</b> He stated. His stance was bold, the orange glow of his eyes menacing. On an adult it would of been a certain no funny bussiness or I'll rip your face off look, on him not quite as intimidating for lack of size. The gesture was all the same.</blockquote>

Makita threw her head around. What her golden eyes saw was a wolf, a little bit younger than her but not by much. He stood as tall as his paws would let him and his eyes, lit with an orange glow, looked furious. The she - wolf had no excuse, she shouldn't be here. But, it innocently started out as her little romp in the snow, enjoying the winter - something she didn't get to do very often at all. Her eyes flitted to Kenit, and then back to the wolf. What was there to say? She had no excuse.

The brindle brown she - wolf lowered herself, but only slightly. It was a sign that she was not a threat, but she refused to back down. Makita was hard headed, though she wasn't going to ask for a fight in front of Kenit and the rest of the world. She also let her ears fall slightly, but also not too much. Her golden eyes remained on his as she spoke gently. "I'm on the pack land.." she murmured, to herself really. She hadn't realized it, but she did now. "I - I'm sorry.. I won't hurt anything.. I'll leave.." she glanced back at Kenit, who was much larger than her, and the other, who was around the same size as her. She didn't want to fight with either one.

Makita watched as the wolf glared at them. It wouldn't be happening if it weren't for her. In a few short moments, the wolf would probably glare and chase her off or call to the wolves that would chase her off. Perhaps they weren't kind. Perhaps they wanted to hurt her. Perhaps - perhaps she should just leave right now.

OOC: Don't think I'm running you off, Triell! :D That's just how Maicoh is.. feel free to keep posting! :3

He had just been about to reply to the female when another voice touched his ears, bringing the large males head around to fix the pup with an ice blue gaze. His lips curled back to expose glistening incisors as he shifted his stance, the multi-toned tail shifting and standing straight over his back. Granted, he was on pack lands, but this pup.. *DARED* threaten him?! Though.. he admired his courage for threatening a wolf nearly twice his size.. if not more. "And? What if we are looking to join your pack? IS that any way to treat a possible newcomer, pup?"

The last three words were accentuated with a soft, low growl, but he cut it off.. shaking himself as if shedding a layer of skin. "Though I admire your gumption to come out here and challenge two older wolves...I'd suggest you turn around and forget you saw us, pup." A threat? Perhaps... He turned those ice blue eyes on Makita and dipped his head at her comments. "Makita, then. I was just passing through..." While making small talk - he kept one eye on the pup.. he wouldn't put it past the kid to stay and try to rush them off their land...

Corinna Donata
<b>OOC:</b> I couldn't resist joining this thread, assuming this is set after Cori's first meeting Triell.

Gone Tomorrow

The female had not been a part of Swift River for very long, but she already knew the majority of the Sacred Grove as if she had been born here. Having been on her own for so long, she knew that it was important to become intimately acquainted with a territory, especially if she wanted to call it home. So that was what she was doing on that late winter day, traversing back and forth across the pack lands, becoming even more familiar with it. She wanted to show Indru that she was a faithful pack member, and the best way she could do it was to show him that she cared about his home as much as he did.

It was during her trek that Corinna picked up on a couple of strange scents. Scents that did not belong. She had been in the pack long enough to know who belonged there and who did not, and the two that caught her nose as she loped along the river bank were completely foreign. Somebody had made the dangerous mistake of crossing into the Tainn's family land, and the Donata she-wolf knew first hand just how dangerous that could be. Rerouting her path, Cori picked up her pace, her long legs carrying her easily over the snow, her gray fur beginning to bristle as she did so.

It didn't take long for the subordinate to find the trio of wolves. Green eyes immediately took in the situation, recognizing the smaller of the two males to be Triell. The other two, a male and a female, were strangers. Loners. On pack land. Coming into the scene, Corinna was the definition of seriousness, absolutely no fun and games in her stance. Her fur was bristling wildly, her head and tail erect to show dominance over the two strangers. Her brow was crinkled and her teeth bared - she meant business.

Approaching on Triell's right side, she took up position beside him, coming in just enough to hear the stranger's last words. He was just passing through. Was he suicidal? "Get out," she snarled at him, eyes steely in her determination. He might not take Triell seriously, but Corinna was an adult, and of the four wolves now represented there, she was the highest ranking of them all. If the two wolves refused to leave now, she would forcefully escort them out. "You have no business passing through pack lands, loners. Get out."

Triell Tainn
<blockquote>ooc; sounds good shadow. i think i'm pretty good jungling confusing time post, nice cori post by the way. katsmu, and kat Triell's a big boy (or should i say hotty i mean haughty teenager) lol we aren't scared.

Triell saw the female's regrets, but still did not recompose himself. She after all wasn't fully submitting, and her sorries only seemed to be for the situation she was in now. <b>"Yes, you are on packlands, and I might believe you mean no harm. So yes, you best be on your way or asking to join."</b> He stated, through tightened teeth. The male finally seemed to realize they were no longer alone, showing his weapons. Maybe it was the fierce, stubborn blood Triell had in him, but he didn't think twice about backign down. The large brute, ya he must have been born yesterday. Growling at a child, what a big wolf he was. Any idiot knew if you joined a pack you don't wander into the middle of it and expect kind greetings. That was down right pathetic, it would get you no where if the leader had any sense, and those words right there were least respectful. Triell was no prince, but he did know his place unlike the brute. Perhaps it was a good thing he was not the size of his brother's yet, the wolf wouldn't let his trap go jabbering so loosely.

A dark chuckle rumbled in his chest, when he spoke of them joning. <b>"Ha, fat chance your here to join, I see you might have your teeth but you left your wits with your mother if that's how you think you join a pack."</b> He stated, every sinew of muscle strung like a tight bow. The lad didn't care who was bigger, Triell knew his skills, and anyone could outrun a bumbling, grizzly bear. If he lacked hunting by himself he made for it with the wrestling matches he'd had with his brothers. Calling him a pup was nearly another strike. <b>"<i>Pup</i>, am I? I do not turn heal and run like a coward, you might though if you don't scurrying along... "</b> He puffed, more then agitated with this arrogant stud. Did he not know what a pack of wolves were? The she wolf was obviously the smarter of the pair, and Triell had no interest in attacking her if she did leave, like she'd spoken.

No longer did he utter his threat when a reinforcement was already here. Cori, he wanted to cheer when her scent pressed his nostrils. He did not look at her, only raised his lips, when she snarled at the two. Stating pretty much what he had, but in a more clear, cut way. If these wolves learned anything it would be don't underestimate anyone. Of coarse he was thrilled someone else was here, and was happy to have another member showing Swift River was no place to pass into without purpose. So the more his respect of Cori there was.</blockquote>
