~Fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars~

Crickets chirped within the midnight hours, the only sound breaking the silence of the rise with undulated sounds of their orchestrated songs wavering from soft in tone to loud and quick in pace, others joining in periodically to add their unique sound to the mix. It was cold out that October night, the glittering crystals of rainfall drifting down procuring a sparkling world as they settled onto the tiny pedals of the fireweed like tiny jeweled gifts only a creature of the night may enjoy. Their falling rhythm a simple one-two; drip drop, while the small breaks in the cloud coverage above allowed equally small beams of moonlight to cascade from the heavens and cast a diamond dust effect on the droplets of moisture. With the soothing sound of the falling rain and cacophony of crickets, certainly even the most insomniac soul could find a nights peaceful rest.

But that wasn't the case as a lone silhouette could be made out upon one of the many rolling hills that made up the rise, black as the night around it aside from the piebald patches of ivory fur that adorned various parts of her nape and shoulder blades. It was Enoki Ashrelle, hunter of Willow Ridge that sat basking in the moonlight, her amber gaze locked on the yellowing orb of the moon itself that lay visible once again in the night sky as it played hide and seek with the she-wolf behind the ever moving rain clouds. Suddenly, slowly her head tilted upwards as the lining of her lips parting to spread her jaws apart, ears splayed back against her skull as a melody of her own rose above that of the crickets and the rain. Her voice rang pure and sweet on the crisp air, seemingly echoing off the droplets that fell around her and enhancing the beauty of her howl letting it reach far and wide to ears willing to listen. 'I am here, but you are there.' the song painfully portrayed with words unspoken. Loneliness pained her heart as the lone Ashrelle woman remained perched on her hill, finding herself once more missing the familiarity of home back within the Calarosa Mountains where her birth given family remained.

A few fleeting moments passed as the last dwindling notes of her mournful howl faded to silence, letting the previous music of the crickets and rain fill the void. Her ears jerked forward then as if waiting, hoping for a reply from her loved ones though it was not plausible for them to hear her song for them as it carried on the air currents of the night. There was nothing. A black tinted silence. Time continued to pass her by as she waited, holding on to the hope that someone, anyone would hear her plea and rescue her. The rest of the pack remained back at the willows where sleep granted by the sandman had found them one by one, skipping the unique pelted woman. Another bout of restlessness led her to wander from the pack and its slumbering sovereigns, seeking the comfort of the rise and its silent beauty. Once more her head tilted back and jaws parted, serenading the night with her symphony of pitches for the moon, the stars and all to hear. But would anyone hear here and join the solo, transforming the story of her words and heartache into a new rendition?
