Kynareth
Picking his way through the new territory, Kynareth surveyed his surroundings. The topography of the area didn't differ greatly from what he was already familiar with, but there were notable differences. The ever-present sounds of the forest's fauna seemed to have died down, and had been replaced by the lull of a creek. The aroma carried the temperature, sharp and refreshing.
Approaching the body of water, trails of the setting sun's reflection cheered at him from the rapidly moving surface. Kynareth peered at his reflection, distorted and unpleasant in the haste of its host. With an internal frown at himself, the beast batted at the water to rid himself of the image. The cool and crisp atmosphere had not mislead him; the water was frigid and the shock of it caused him to jump back somewhat. Flicking his paw, he sat down on the silt and leaned down to lick the cold's numb grip from his paw-pad.
Once he was again comfortable, he took a look at the place once again. The condition of the sun engulfed the area in a darkening orange hue. Tall oaks rose from the direction Kynareth had traveled from, a symbol of his drawn-out solitude and journey here. Reflection from the creek dappled darting lights over the nearby banks, captivating and effulgent.
Huffing, the brute momentarily returned to his self-pity. He was alone -- time to brood. He had no clue as to where to go, or the situation of the pack, or any kind of knowledge regarding the pack or pack placement entirely. Actually, he realized, the entire expanse of territory was alien to him -- wild life and surface features. He could be walking into his own death-trap and be beyond blissfully ignorant about it.

Inactive VI. Yearling
Riley
With a new sense of purpose to him, Riley stumbled back along to the waters edge searching for a shallower part of the water where he could dive in and relish in his new sense of life. Only a few short days ago had he been homeless and wandering searching for somewhere he could call home, to be able to say he had a bed to go home to every night. With a trickle of excitement creeping up his spine he dove head first into the cool waters, needing to rid himself of everything from his past life before he had joined his new pack. With that cool refreshing sensation of water flowing around him and seeping into his muddy coat he dunked his head under water and let the calming sweep of water fill his head.

Already feeling more like himself again he shoved his body under the waters one more time, before he decided to swim towards the waters nearest edge. His lean figure made it quite easy for him to navigate the waters skimming the surface with ease. As soon as he'd found a spot to dry off he shook himself off hoping his coat was once again effulgent, and returned to it's former glory; he really did have a narcissistic streak when it came to his looks. Taking in his surroundings he spotted a large male off in the distance, he really didn't look like he wanted to be bothered, but since when had Riley listened to his first instincts?

The male certainly intrigued him, maybe it was the male himself, or maybe it was the fact he hadn't interacted with anyone besides his new alpha for days and was getting quite lonely. Ready to jump out of his skin if he didn't have some sort of contact soon, he set off towards the male; not really thinking it through once he'd gotten close enough for the other male to catch his scent he started re-thinking how good of an idea this actually was...

Kynareth
Kynareth, who had been lulled into a quiet stupor by the peace of the environment, was woken by the poorly quieted steps of the yearling approaching him. Scrutinizing him from a distance, the most noticeable thing at first was his wet coat. Not only from the sight of the sopping fur, no, but the scent of wet canine preceded him greatly.
Not one to be immediately unfriendly, the lupe gave the younger male an inquisitive look. Although he did not read hostility, he continued to be weary. Not just of this wolf, but of the wolves here in general -- well, the strangers here; that just so happened to be the entire populous.
"Uh, hi?" Kynareth narrowed his eyes slightly and pulled himself into a more becoming sitting position as the lightly-coloured wolf grew nearer. He looked him up and down, avoiding eye contact but taking note of everything. Hostility was certainly not the case here -- at least not now -- and Kynareth relaxed somewhat.
Curling his tail around his body, he peered at the ground before again looking back at Riley, "I apologize," he mumbled, "I shouldn't have been rude before you even opened your maw..."
Trying to keep the snide undertones of his apology on the down-low, the older male rose to follow the edge of the creek. He stopped for a moment, glancing back at the yearling as an invitation to join him. Loneliness bites.
