Ever since she salvaged Deacon from the cowardly child taker she had been meaning to return here under better circumstances. Since their journey to the North to seek out her brother, she and @Renier had maintained their… Friendship? Was it more? Her face still warmed under her fur at the memories of what had passed between them by the creek with the red rocks. Since their return they had both been busy, preparing for whatever trick @Skoll might try to pull next. She had noticed the change in @Elettra's scent and could only be grateful that when her own heat faded (now she knew it was her heat and not fleas at all), there wasn’t that something extra laced in amongst the trail she left around the Willows.
Now the snow had begun to melt and the greenery was making its presence known she looked over the foliage with a more critical eye. She had no doubt she could expect to find Hellebore about, and with @Titan’s hasty betrayal, the absence of the Attaya sisters, and the mysterious disappearance of Xetor she had no doubt her mother would be relying on her oldest daughter to gather whatever she could after the long winter. The edges of her eyes went hard as her tongue passed over her muzzle trying to remove the bad taste it all left in her mouth. Betrayers. They would receive no mercy from her.
Perhaps more impressive than the potential for Hellebore was the small sprigs she found herself currently sniffing. It was far too early in the season for the actual berries to give it away for sure. She wrapped her mouth around a twig and pulled up to strip some of the bark and crush a few of the newly formed leaves. She was confident enough that the plant wouldn’t poison her, but she wanted to taste the bitter plant to be sure before she went carrying it all the way home. Salmonberry would no doubt be a welcome gift for her mother.
She didn’t even notice the wolverine that was closing in fast at her back.
