She needed to know her options before she agreed to anything, much less the commitment of actually joining a pack.
Huffing at the thought, her mind wandered briefly to Anders. Damn him and his silver tongue, planting his seeds of doubt in her dark mind. Ears swiveled back and she pressed onwards for hours and hours. The wolf did no stop until she heard again the sound of running of water, and then he turned, seeking out the spring. It was surprisingly peaceful – so much more tranquil than the falls she'd journeyed to before. Padding closer for a drink, Dezzy exhaled a relieved breath as she lapped up for her fill. It was only when she looked up that she realized she was not alone, a pair of growling yellow eyes staring back at her.
The wolf immediately took a step back, and the large male took a step after her. A very large male. If he didn't way as much as the small wolf, he was damn well close. Dezzy's ears were plastered against her skull as she took another step. This was not a fight she wanted.
