It filled her with both joy and slight disappointment that he had found the clearing before her. Joy, because surely he knew how wonderful the place was. Disappointment because she couldn't have been the one to show it to him. Something in her really wanted to teach and spend time with the boy - she honestly couldn't wait to have children with Niles someday. There was no doubt in her mind that she would be an awesome mother, and he would be an awesome father. They would simply be the greatest parents in all of the world. It was a simple fact of life.

Her ears swiveled toward him when he prompted her for more places, and she hummed deep in her chest as she thought. She knew lots of places - had been most of the places in the Lore, actually, in her trip from the Fields to Quaking Vale. But one place really stood out as a Sachiel place, and she was determined to be the one to show him.

"You want to go somewhere with a lot of beautiful green and quiet?" she asked, lowering her head. She was, of course, referring to Verdant Mosses. It was a bit of a trek, but she didn't think anyone would mind if the two of them went out on a little adventure together. Sachiel was perfectly safe with her, after all.

The boy did not miss the flicker of disappointment on the strawberry blonde’s face when he announced he had already visited the clearing. Pink-purple. She was all blue now, shades of cerulean and brilliant sapphire folding into each other. Sad. His ears twitched nervously but he did’t know what to say. Instead he waited for her to respond to his question, his ears cupped forward as the corners of his eyes wrinkled with worry. Sachiel hoped he hadn’t upset her too much. While he preferred his alone time he couldn’t turn the scarlet leader away now. Not when she was so determined on sticking by his side.

The blue faded as she spoke, her scarlet flame returning with hints of emerald around the edges. Green. Quiet. Two of his favourite words, which often coincided with each other. Castel knew him better than his own parents. He blinked at the thought, tossing it away in the dark corners of his mind as he nodded frantically in response. Yes. To the green and quiet. “Okay,” he hummed, a brilliant smile tugging at his lips as he motioned for the blue-eyed leader to take the lead.

Castel grinned at Sachiel's precious little reaction to her offer, leaning down to drop a lick between his ears. It was rare to get Sachiel to smile, and it felt like some sort of triumph to the young leader, and her suspicions of his likes were confirmed. Green and quiet were probably his favorites, and she filed that away in memory so that she could keep it in mind for later. Suddenly, all of the worries she had about his parents being angry at her for essentially kidnapping their child for a little while were gone.

Her tail set to wagging again, and she stepped ahead to tease him. "Race you to the edge of the territory," she urged, and wasted no time in taking off at a light jog toward the border, giving him ample time to catch up and pass her if he so wished, though she supposed he would be privy to such tricks by now.

fade with your next post? :B unless you wanna keep going! <3

Race you to the edge of the territory. He blinked, taken aback by her words as she took off, leaving Sachiel dazed and confused, rooted to the spot. Go, nimrod! Giving his head a quick shake the boy propelled his body forward, his lanky legs scrambling over the ground as he hurried to catch up to his long-legged friend. Cheater! He called out to her as he came up behind her, a lop-sided grin tugging at his lips as he attempted to over-take her. He was still awkwardly proportioned, which made running a little difficult, but the boy was still determined. He bumped his nose against her shoulder as he caught up to the blue-eyed leader, his tail swaying behind him. Truthfully Sachiel didn’t care if he beat her or not—the thrill of the race was far more fun than beating her.

Cas simply laughed at his accusation, her tail whipping happily behind her as she raced the pup. Her cheating was for a good cause, as she wasn't actually attempting to beat him this time. There would be plenty of time for that in the future, she believed, so she didn't mind letting him win. This time, her mind told her, still believing that there would be countless races in the future.

Oh, how wrong she was.

But there was none of that sorrow or dread now, as Sachiel bumped her shoulder with his nose and she lightly nudged him in return. For now, all she was concerned about was showing this kid the time of his life, and perhaps having a bit of an adventure for herself.

The little Leigh, of course, broke the barrier of the orange-topped trees before her, but she doubted either of them stopped running. She could practically feel the laughter in the air as the bushes and flowers and trees blurred past, and she certainly didn't feel any pain. No - this day was nothing but fun. So, with a breezy giggle and a childish hop over a bush, she called excitedly to her companion:

"You're gonna love this place!"
