- we'll bury the castle.
She was pulled down to him by some invisible line she would never see nor understand. So badly it made her question herself. Was this what happened when both a heart and soul were marred? They reached out for more pieces to patch over the rough edges, and jagged holes? It was the answer that made the most sense. She had not been in the best state when she had found him, and he had not let him go, she couldn't.
What a tangled web her life had weaved.
She swallowed, and closed her eyes. She became aware of his warmth beside her, and the comforting touch it was. She could easily fall asleep there in the secure world that appeared to only be theirs in this moment. The cool air brought her to life, running it's cold invisble grip against the part of her that was exposed. Filling her chest she took in aromas of the night, they were gentle and sweet to her nose. Resting her head against the earth, and part of him she would let her eyes hold his, the pull stronger in the steal liquid, windows to his soul. How far she had fallen was put out before her. She had known it all along. Would he catch her if she fell? Badly her tongue was ready to speak what her heart wanted to say. There was something that kept it at bay, something she was not sure that would release it's hold upon her.
A smooth stroke of her eyelids falling she turned her nose upward to see what beautiful glory was above her. When he spoke she closed her eyes, listening to his smooth, and steady tone. Something about it put her at ease, and soothed her wounds. He told her nothing, but honest words as he always had. She did not know what home specificly he was speaking of. It must have been something grand to be missed. When she thought about her childhood home, if she went back it would never be home to her. The realization Grizzly Hollow was her home struck her, tempting to shatter her peace. What was wrong with that? She asked herself, tired of how easily unsettled she became over such little things. The flow of his words stop, a single ear stretched forward, and she opened her eyes instantly trying to see his. "But my home is in your heart, Jaysyek." How true that was. Her heart felt like it melted, warmth rising in her cheeks, a warmth she'd lack since the end of last spring. The feeling felt so out of place. He continued as if it'd taken little to say. She admired the way he could speak his mind, so confident in everything. Should confessing love be hard? It had not been for her....not the first ime. If her heart could have it probably would have cracked with her thought.
She was stubborn, and continued listening to the rise, and falling of his tongue where his words flowed from effortlessly. The first time she thought she could see..hear..know..what was on the inside. How much she had a part of him, and he, her. His words only set what could have been into something more solid. Something she would never forget. To hear there was nothing else for him, but her? What more would she need? A blissful smile broke against her lips, and the peace her brought her was multiplied, lighting the darkness. She was speechless.
The ash coated lady only became more so, her mouth drawing open at his last sentence, even if it may only be a tease. She was half certain he would if the world had been different...if her world was. Eyes locked she broke into a grin. "Kade!" She bodly spoke as if to scold him. There was no scorn, or anger in her tone it was light, and playful. Laughter rang from her like a lively bell. Then she roughly bumped noses with him, before rubbing her cheek against his. "If I go willingly you might not have to hard a time," her grin grew, and she added, "But of coarse don't forget the small army that'll follow." She laughed in her own merriment of the idea of running away.
But a life with Kade would be just that...running from her problems, and what kind of life was that? She would become silent in the darkened night, her grin eventually fading, and her thoughts more murky than they had ever been.
