Scouting thread for @Nori <3

He had wanted to do this weeks ago, once the pack decided to settle in the shroud – for now at least – but his body had other plans. Despite their slow pace, the journey had clearly been too much of a strain on his leg and he’d been forced to remain within the Meander for a while to rest it.

At least it gave him some time to familiarize himself with the territory, walking what might be their official border one day, and learning the best places to fish in the river. But after a full moon cycle like that, he was raring to go and explore beyond the woods – maybe leaving the mountain behind had finally eliminated his agoraphobia.

His leg was still a little stiff, but the swelling was gone, and he had been careful to ramp up slowly, taking slightly longer and longer walks until he finally felt ready for this. Despite the slightly awkward gait, there was excitement in his eyes and a smile on his face as he turned to his companion, softly waving one ear; “Thank you for coming along!”

I love this song! <3

Nori was doing a lot better. After spending some time in and around where they were hopefully going to make their home, she felt rested and more secure with her place in the little group. Of course, she didn't get along with every single wolf, but when had she ever? Not everyone had to like her to justify having a place here, and most of the former Cove wolves had been very kind.

She hadn't expected to be asked to accompany Leo on his scouting expedition, but she'd agreed without hesitation. Of all the wolves in the group, she had developed a particular fondness for the agouti man, and she didn't quite have a name for it yet. She enjoyed his company and felt comfortable with him, so of course she'd said yes when he asked her to go with him.

He looked so different now than he had when she'd found him in that cave. It was a good different - his smile was brighter, he was happier, not in as much pain. It made her feel lighter, somehow. His pace was still a little stiff, but she didn't mind taking her time.

"Thank you for inviting me," she responded with a smile, tail swishing. "I haven't been up here yet." She hadn't wanted to stray too far, especially without a companion, and the one she'd wanted to ask had still been recovering. It had been a pleasant surprise when he'd beaten her to the punch.
