She was amazed at how quickly they became something closer to functioning minds. No longer did they sit idly at her side, suckling until they passed out in a milkweed coma. Soon they would need a bigger place than just the dark dwelling place she had carved before they had been earthside.

After this, she might take them somewhere more spacious.

Yet now she called @Constantin and Caiaphas out to her in the evening dusk before the sun fully faded. A red squirrel, caught but not yet fully felled, laid in a deathly still shock at her paws. They would need to come quick if they wished to catch it before it realized its end as a meal was not yet a promise.

Tin never kept his mother waiting long once called. The child would take the time to attempt to herd his sibling along with him as well, if Cai wasn't already on the move. It wasn't to shield him in any way, especially against Mom's ire (Constantin quite enjoyed his favored status), but rather born of the simple desire to keep his brother with him. Something he wasn't afraid to get demanding over, but also wouldn't allow to get in the way of continuing to appease their parent.

He appeared with a wagging tail and bright eyes, the color faded from what it had been just a few weeks prior but still clearly blue in shade. It was stubbornly sticking around, just as his mother's had.

The scent of what was on the ground drew his attention to it, and his body stilled completely, gaze taking on a different kind of spark as it froze upon the tiny body. A growl wanted to brew within his chest, but something in his gut told him to stay quiet. He took a careful, singular step forward, and his dark nose twitched.
