Snow had become a common sight over the past weeks, even the floor of the otherwise so well protected thicket now covered in a light powder. Thinking back to the last winter, the medic felt certain that even the densest corners of her home would be blanketed in snow before the cold season was over, she could only hope that it wouldn't be quite as bad this time around; No more snowstorms! In any case, Aideen kept close to the Woodlands at all times, only venturing out when the weather was clear, and always turning back at the slightest sign of clouds drawing in. Today it had been snowing since she woke up, and so she had not even entertained the idea of passing over the borders; Better safe than sorry...

Winter was the calmest time for herbalists, most plants withered away or frozen deep under the snow. But healers never rested, and the cold tended to bring more decease, especially to the very young and the elderly. Added to that, now, was Aideen's training for leadership. She spend even more time with Nina than before, and had taken to patrolling the borders, marking them and making sure that they were not breached. She also tried to study both of her leaders, shadowing them whenever she could without getting in their way, to see how they worked, what they spend their days doing and which things they valued as part of their role. Mostly she stuck to Nina though, despite her best intentions, she'd never gotten to know Mirren very well, and he seemed unapproachable, when she could even find him.

Today though, the vixen wolfess was on her own, and there was only so much time she could spend rearranging her infirmary and checking up on the smaller herb stores around the territory. And she was a social creature, she liked keeping track of her pack mates and checking up on them, even if they were strong and healthy. So she sought towards the communal den, hoping to find some of the other Woodland wolves there; Maybe even some of the ones she didn't know so well.
