Halloween RE: Davin, you awake from the strangest nightmare about flying wolves.

He was running for his life through a never ending tunnel of darkness, the sounds of snapping teeth and feral snarls reverberating around him, pressing against his skin and chasing away all reason. Pale grey eyes were ringed in white as his ears pressed back tightly against his skull, desperate to seal off the sounds, but it didn't seem to matter any. If anything, they were louder, closer, as if they were within his very head. His paws drummed the ground without feeling, his muscles numb with their exhaustion while his heart beat itself violently against his ribcage. The light ahead was just a pinprick, but it was steadily growing as he drew closer and closer to the exit.

When at last he burst from the cave, his pursuers followed suit, and at last he dared to look back over his shoulder. To his horror, the monsters were suddenly airborne, arching up into the sky as one before reaching a peak, falling back onto themselves so that they may spiral toward the earth and take chase once more. Davin tried to scream, but not even air left his dry throat. He felt suddenly as though he weren't breathing, as though he couldn't breathe, and this brought on yet another wave of terror that drowned out any chances he had at realizing that he was longer running, his muscles stalled and his paws rooted to the soil.

They were so close now he could see their faces, gaunt and vacant of the personalities he had so adored. It was his family bearing down on him, foam flecked lips exposing bloodied fangs and beastly red eyes that expressed nothing but wrath. They converged upon him, snapping at his flesh, tearing him apart, and at last air rushed into his lungs, only to be expelled in a howl of sheer agony.

Waking suddenly, Davin's muscles spasmed as they tried to continue the frantic actions of his nightmare, but he forced them to still, his mind as well fooled into thinking that the events had been real, leaving him convinced that he was very much still in danger. His heart raced inside of him as his ghostly eyes darted about his surroundings, certain that at any moment they would land upon the bared fangs of those who wanted him dead.

Time pressed on, and nothing moved around him but the florae, moved gently by the afternoon's chilled breeze. Slowly, he began to crawl back toward reality, and when at last he felt some semblance of safety, a long, slow whine passed over his lips.

The doe hopped merrily through the redwoods, dancing between the trees on delicate, ethereal hooves that only skimmed the ground occasionally. Karina on the other paw was quite connected to the ground, at some times more intimately than she would have liked as she stumbled through the undergrowth after her daemon. Patient and kind as ever, the doe would stop and wait for Karina each time her steps faltered, and though her own hooves walked on air as easily as dirt she always choose the path that was easiest for Karina to traverse. The pale-eyed girl had long since learned that she would never make it anywhere fast, but she moved with as much haste as was safe on this particular afternoon. The doe seemed to have something it wanted to show her, and what could Karina do but cede to the wishes of her closest companion?

Though her surroundings were a blur of color, Karina easily recognized the familiar smells as she neared Lavender Ethos, far and away her favorite spot in Hearthwood River. Karina visited this place so often that her pelt bore a quite discernible lavender perfume. A low whine permeated the chilly air, and Karina returned a curious whine of her own as she neared the clearing. The princess had always enjoyed peaceful repose here in the Ethos, but it sounded like one of her packmates was having a very different experience. “Orren?" Karina asked, paws treading lightly over the lavender stalks as she moved forward. The other wolf only looked like her brother for the briefest of moments, and when Davin fixed his silver gaze on her she knew her mistake instantly. “Oh, Davin!” she said, smiling shyly for her blunder. “What’s wrong?” she asked, noting his anxious, busy aura.

Not sure what's going on with the table, it looks fine in the preview..
