The way he was looking at her made her feel appreciated and good about herself. It had been quite a long time since she had felt that way and it was reassuring. She was hesitant to know his reaction to her request but was relieved when she finally received it. Drestig seemed saddened by it and she looked back up to meet his eyes, trying to reassure him with her own. She had chosen them and no one was going to change her mind about that. Still, her heart beat anxiously in her chest at the meeting that was about to come, not wanting to say goodbye, but knowing that it was the only way she could move on to a new life with an open heart. Her chest ached but it was nothing compared to pain she experienced in the past. With the dark man in front of her, she knew she would be able to get through it. He would be the center of her new life now and that was what mattered the most. Her words were a gentle whisper to him, ”Thank you so much.” The corner of her mouth twisted into a small smile. Soon after though, Drestig matched her with a request of his own. Perhaps, she should have asked him to come with her but she knew this goodbye was something that she needed to do on her own. To his words, she nodded confirming that she would pass the parting words along to their friend. His final words to her were no shock. She felt no need to ask where he was going to be, for she had a general idea. Just as she had said goodbye before their fateful meeting, it was time for him to say farewell to his fallen. Even if he was not going there, she could easily track him to wherever he was going. She returned his caress, her departing words soft, ”I'll find you soon.” And then she was off, to say farewell to one of the only wolves in Oak Tree Bend that might have still given a damn about her.
