Merys Adroren
Just popping back in after the travels. Can be a short, quick thread. :)

Light snow
36 ° F, 2 ° C

Although it was somewhere around late afternoon, it was not exactly easy to estimate the time with the sun so predominantly hidden behind the beginnings of the spring-brought canopy. Merys' nose caught the soft snowflakes managing to make it past the deciduous barrier, staying in tack for a few seconds before his body heat melted them to his skin. His neck arched back as he tilted his head up while he walked, though there was little to be seen up above with the exception of the odd bird. With a heavy sigh his head was dropped, with such a tired mind it was very easy to walk into things if he did not keep focused and look where he was going. He had travelled a lot the past couple days, making it doubly exhausting when he had to keep coming back to the packlands to check in and make sure no one thought he was a goner. Granted, not an unlikely thing for them to think, he supposed. He knew he was not giving off the most loyal of vibes, but his head knew he was going to be sticking around, and so here he was, returning back to the packlands for a much needed rest.

There was no set path either as the middle-aged male found himself having to weave between the mixture of firs. He was not sure why he had chosen this particular pathway back, nor was he sure if he had even really chosen to at all. His eyes were heavy knees weak, arms are heavy, he's nervous, and truly it was his nose leading this expedition. He doubted he would be making it back to the main communal den; he wasn't confident he could manage much more than simple sentences without seeming short with whomever dared. He pressed on, determined to find a place of warmth and quiet to miche until his brain regained its composure.

Zilas
The sun had started to set and the silver male were running along the border his nose twitching now and then as he stopped to mark the packs border. It was no secret that his head was a mess of thoughts, his past had started to haunt him as spring had reminded him of his past. What were he to do? How could he rid himself of his father’s ghost? He sighed as he looked around him the light snowfall had created a weak sound barrier or perhaps the world had just fallen silent. He raised his eye to the sky looking up in to the falling flakes of white wondering, when the snow would stop falling and be replaced by the suns warming light.

Suddenly He came to a halt as he looked around a scent he knew trigged his memory of the male whom had help claim the spring as their home. He had never really had a chance to talk to this one and he wondered were the other had spent his time. He left the border walking among the timbers as he followed @”Merys” scent trail.

As the others brown fur came in to vive among the falling white Zilas let out a bark to alert the brown wolf of his presence.

"Where have you been hiding?" his voice was flat and showed no emotions. never seen this one before have we. IT´s voice was put a whisper in his head.

Sorry for the wait. <3
Merys was caught off guard by the white wolf's bark, but his tired mind deciphered the situation before his body could startle. His paws pulled him to a stop, and he turned his head to face the male. The recognition was there, his nose confirmed it, but Merys knew this was a stranger to him. There were not too many distinguishable wolves around Relic Lore as was Zilas. Long white fur, mismatched eyes. Merys' dark brown eyed his red one, then the white, then the red again. Had it not been for a few elders who lived past their usefulness in his old life, Merys would not have known which eye to look at. Luckily, his cultured self knew to lay his gaze on the one eye he knew could return it. For a moment, he wondered how easily the wolf managed with altered depth perception when it came to hunting, or.. oh, I don't know, chasing off a bear.

"Where have you been hiding?"

Fair assumption, but exactly what he had been trying to avoid. Also, not the first opening sentence he would have chosen for speaking to a near complete stranger.. but that was besides the point. He had certainly not gotten to this one, at least he had had one on one with the others briefly. His tired mind wished it did not have to be now, as he did not have much energy to donate to controlling his snarky emotions. He tilted his head side to side, looking up, as if considering his statement, "Ehh, I wouldn't say I've been hiding, really. Just coincidentally not seeing others very much," he offered. Something in the air between made Merys stay on his feet when he spoke to him. "I could say the same thing about you, really," he suggested, nonchalantly, meeting the male's gaze again. "Zilas, right?"

Sorry for spelling mistakes in this.... and shortness

As Merys seemed to determine which eye was the beater he sighed shaking his head before looking back at the other male who seemed to have decided to focus on his right eye. It bugged him and his anger witch was withheld from his expression had IT laugh in his mind, his eye was a constant reminder of what he had been. Weak….Weak. It echoed itself in his mind. As he looked away a low annoyed growl escaping his lips. Why did the ghosts till exist? Why wouldn’t it just go away? With a sigh he looked back at Merys "Sorry about that, ghost are hard to get rid of" not wanting the other male to think he had been the reason or his growl he returned his attention to him.

"I’m afraid you could, springs a difficult time." he looked at the other a hidden question in his mind "Spring is a tempting time, but we all have rules to follow." a simple yet foggy reminder of the rules. "And yes I’m Zilas, an I guess you Merys"

Typos because this post crashed on me three times and my GAF is gone. -_-

Merys watched curiously as the white male shook his head back and forth. His nose turned to the side slightly as Merys side-gazed him, partly confused. Had he baffled the bi-coloured male? His ears flicked in annoyance when he heard the low rumble of a growl escape him and his muscles tensed ever so slightly. He furrowed his brows. The fuck? The vibe that came off of Zilas was not a comforting one in general, but he was not sure what was going on here. Thankfully, the white wolf spoke and assured him it was merely the ghosts that were bothering him. Had he more energy, that might seem like a stranger thing to say, but as circumstances would have it, it came off just jokingly enough to Merys. “Oh. Yeah, yeah of course. Ghosts are the worst,” he agreed casually, shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head as though it were the most normal of conversations to have. I mean, ghosts probably were fairly difficult to get rid of. You couldn’t just dig them out of your den like twigs.

The brown male shifted his weight, still standing, anticipating hoping this conversation not to last much longer as he listened to the woodnote of a nearby forest bird. The wolf spoke again, but this time it was enough to register an internal reaction from the four year old. What had meant by that? Spring being a difficult time? A tempting time? Merys sincerely hoped his company had not meant tempting by means of females in spring. Instinctually, yes, they smelled delicious; but not so much that Merys ever had to talk himself down from .. well. It did not require him reminding himself of simple morals, much less the rules. He did not know his packmates all that well, and he definitely did not need to know them that well. If that was what ailed him, Merys thought he might decide not to like @Zilas. Gee @Raela and @Gent, you sure know how to recruit them. he thought sarcastically. He revelled in the hilarity for a moment that this wolf outranked him.

He watched the wolf silently, and decided that today was not the day to confront that question. It was not worth the energy, and perhaps he had taken the complete wrong direction with that comment. He, instead, decided to file in back in his thoughts for another day perhaps, or just something to be wary of in the future. He smiled, though it did not reach his eyes, and nodded, “Yes, I am. I was just on my way back to the den.” He attempted to keep the fatigue from reaching his voice, “It’s been a while since I had some quality rest,” he admitted.

Zilas
Sorry for delay and shortness.

As Merys seemed to agree with him on the ghost ting he sighed, as he looked around once more. He sighed again paying notice to the others shifting in his stand. Eyes following his movement as the birds of the forest where binge noisy around them as he shook his body to remove snow which had landed in it doing their talk.

As the other wolf´s glass like smile showed on his face he sighed, "you might as well drown that smile in the nearest body of water" he sighed as he tilted his head a bit taking the other in view. First now taking a closer look he realized how tired the other actually looked. As merys said he were heading back to the den, Zilas felt a hint of laughter be strangled in his throat making a strange gurgling sound as he said "You do look worse than a piece of prey poking their head up from the ground after a long hibernation sleep."

With shake of his head he looked back at the darker wolf

"Mind if I tag along?" he would allow the other to decide if he wanted company for the rest of the way back to the den or if he wanted to go alone, should he chose the latter Zilas planned to return to the border and perhaps go looking for something to eat.

Merys Adroren
@Ainashi
--some mature language—

Merys was beginning to dislike the messages he was getting from his packmate, both nonbal and verbal. What was going on here? Why was this encounter getting so difficult to decipher? The white wolf was sighing an awful lot, and Merys couldn't decide if it was from exasperation with him as company, or if his depression was in dire need of some attention. "You might as well drown that smile in the nearest body of water." Sorry -- excuse fucking me? While Merys knew his expression had not given any indication of genuine excitement, he was sure it had not displayed any larruping mockery or insubordination or smugness or.. whatever Zilas had interpreted it as. His expression darkened considerably then, and he felt his hackles tense in defense, his gaze now one that would have warned any other of his new mood. “Excuse me?” he said carefully, though he asked with no care for a repetition. His tone was a warning attached to the hint of a question: Would you like to fucking try that again?

Merys was really beginning to dislike this situation. The white wolf either had no fucking clue what social norms were, or was looking to have a problem with the new recruit. His fatigue wished he had never stumbled upon the bi-coloured eyes. He was confused where this was coming from, and he wondered for a moment if it was him that was greatly misinterpreting the male’s words due to his brain fog. What part of ‘go drown yourself’ is confusing for you? His brain spat to him. Zilas invited himself to join Merys to the den for a nap, which only confused him more. Why? So you can kill me in my sleep? Or because you’re too fucking weird to realize that most don’t enjoy being with those that threaten them? “I don’t rightly imagine,” he assured the white wolf, his demeanor still darkened and defensive. What the hell was going on here?
