@Ash Here ya go! been meaning to get this up for awhile))
((Please scroll over the text, there's more than it seems!))

Chocolate brown eyes were constantly flicking around the wide expanse of the snow covered blackberry fields as a small cocoa brown wolf dashed across the soft surface. Sylva just couldn’t resist it. She had passed so much snow from Ghastly Woods to the Orchid and now this! A massive open area just begging, no DEMANDED to be played in! Muzzle raised toward the east, the direction that the wind was blowing from. After a few moments, satisfied that there wasn’t any wolves around, it hadn’t occurred to her to check the west, she glanced around before yipping and running forward toward a small mound of snow.

The yearling’s tail wagged happily as she indulged in simple play. Skidding to a stop by the snow pile she quickly raised a fore paw and slammed it down into the mound, sending a small shower of snow up into the air. As the snow rose to it’s zenith, Sylva’s black and brown fringed rump wriggled as she prepared herself to pounce, the muscles under her thick coat rippling as she lunged into the air, snapping her teeth at the snow.

She landed in the snow with a soft grunt as she shook her now white flaked muzzle and simply rolled over onto her back, her breath coming in light gasps as she started to tire. She laid there on her back and just looked up at the sky, all her worries simply melting away for now. “This...is good.”

Ash Hervok

It had been months since he had received any word on his wife’s whereabouts. While he had done well in quelling the worries of his children, it did not mean that his own mind did not race with the possibilities of what was going on out on their scouting trip. His sister still refused to tell him what their scouting trip was for, and the new rise of leadership left him confused. They knew nothing of what was going on and yet his sister let it happen. He knew that she was doing it for the good of her pack and he was concerned greatly for her wellbeing, but Ash still did not know how long he would be able to last without news of his mate. It was springtime, after all, and it made his longing for her even more prominent.

He needed to stretch his legs from the confining area of the thickets and before he knew it, he was taking himself towards Blackberry Fields, the former residence of his long time enemy, Minka, who was blessedly no longer with them. Perhaps his thinking was faulty but the bitch had caused his woman too much pain to begin with and anyone who caused her pain deserved to be punished. The Hervok man was not looking for anything in particular as he made his way from the Thickets but was pleasantly surprised when a ball of fur seemed to fly from the snow. Ash was startled for only a moment as he watched, perplexed at how carefree the young woman seemed to be at such a time. The dark brown brute could only remember one time he had felt a similar way, and it had, regrettably, not been with the woman who had stolen his heart.

The young girl’s voice reached his ears and a small smile twitched at the edge of Ash’s lips. He cleared his throat before he spoke, his deep voice demanding to be heard, ”You obviously like to snow, little one. But you should probably pay more attention to your surroundings. You might bump into someone.” His voice was filled with amusement, that someone obviously referring to himself. Ash took a moment to observe her scent, trying to place why it was slightly familiar, but did not comment on it until he had more information.

@Ash !

The small wolf’s brown eyes shot open as a voice spoke. Quickly the small canine rolled onto her belly and pulled herself up, shaking snow off of her fur as she found herself staring muzzle to muzzle with a dark brown male, well, more like her muzzle to his shoulder. She waited a few moments, unsure what to do but slowly she backed up as he spoke.

We might bump into someone, but...isn’t he someone? her head cocked slightly to the side as she listened to the odd wolf before giving voice to her question“But you're someone aren't you? and you found me so I did bump into someone didn’t I, unless you're a spirit, which I doubt you are though, you smell like other wolves though not Round Stone Crest, that's for sure” She paused for a moment, realizing something. Should we have told him where we’re from? Oh well, too late now…

“Oh!” She suddenly yipped after pausing for a moment, her tail wagging happily in the snow behind her “I’m Sylva, you are? and Yea we do like the snow!” Slowly she recovered from her small scare before peering closer at Ash’s body “Woah...your eyes are green, like really green, they remind me of some of the trees I have met but they could only get leaves that vibrant around spring..”

She paused for a moment to inhale some air as she settled down onto her black and brown fringed haunches and happily went on without needing to be prompted “Do you like snow too? it is nice to be able to just relax after so much stress isn’t it?”

Ash Hervok

Ash had encountered a talker. He hated talkers, most of the time but when they were younger he was especially tolerable of them. The Hervok remained silent, his mossy green eyes boring down into the young girl, her response lengthy and giving him information he had not bargained for. What interested him the most was her pack. Rock Round Crest. It would have concerned him more if there were more members about but it was just her and she was a mere yearling. All she seemed to want to do was roll around in the snow and play around much like a child.

She quickly offered up her name and Ash was quick to offer his name to her, giving his name up bluntly. And it wasn’t long before she was moving onto another topic, commenting quickly on his eyes, baffling him. It was not often that others were so open about his features, especially since others tended to find him intimidating. He did not comment, however, fixated on her phrasing. Did she just say that she met some trees? His ears flicked forward but he remained silent as he contemplated what he said. Perhaps she was younger than he thought she was or she had a certain kind of mental condition. Nina would certainly be interested in hearing around it and Ash made a note to mention it to her later.

Luckily, Ash would not have to make any comment about Sylva’s choice of words because she directly asked him a question about the snow. Since she was so young, it would be easy to lie to her about his preference. Before he moved from the mountains, he loved snow, winter had been his favorite time of the year, despite the lack of prey and he had enjoyed it but now, he hated it. The snow was hard to walk in and if he stepped on a thorn, it was hard to detect and when he did sometimes he would already have an infection. The young girl, however, would have no knowledge of this and so, he lied. "Yes, it’s very nice. After my long work day, I enjoy the cool feeling so that I can relax." He made his words sound casual and not clipped so that they would be believable enough. After all, that was what he had done back in the day.

The young wolf’s chocolate and black head bobbed up and down as she had caught @Ash ‘s name between her own flow of words and a small grin formed on her maw. A quiver of excitement fluttered through her small body. She had another name to add to the slowly growing trove that she was adding to almost daily and she guarded it fiercely.

Sylva bounced a little where she stood as the male wolf gave an agreement about the fun of snow. Since it wouldn’t be around for long, the Yearling sought to enjoy it as much as she could. Completely unaware that Ash had been lying she pressed on with a few more questions, her nose twitching slightly as she stepped toward her dark furred companion to better detect his scent. She looked toward him as she settled down mere feet away, her head tilting slightly in curiosity. “So..Ash, what pack are you from? What brought you out this way?”

He seems nices…. Sylva’s hazel brown eyes moved slowly as she looked Ash over, her stare was somewhat intense as she didn’t bother to even try to hide her interest in memorizing how he looked and smelled, though for her it was so she could call upon those looks when ever she thought about the name.

Ash Hervok

She was being extremely invasive of his space. Had she not been a yearling, Ash would have snapped at her and properly taught he what personal space was, but she was a curious thing and he allowed Sylva her exploration of his features. She continued to ask more questions and Ash inhaled, to regain his thoughts, as well as her scent to confirm what he thought. Multiple wolves...better be safe than sorry. He remained silent for a moment, allowing his tail to lash behind him. It was fluffed out considerably due to his winter coat. He would tread cautiously around this one. He was sure that she meant no harm but if she was so open around him, he was sure that anything that was said could easily make its way back to her superiors. His voice was calm when he spoke, "I come from Secret Woodlands, in the Thickets. I wandered out to see if I could find any fresh hunting trails." That was a lie but there was no reason for the young girl to think that he needed time to clear his had and he didn't want her asking questions as to why he was clearing his head.

For once he posed a question of his own, "And you? I only know of one pack nearby and it's still quite a bit of travel time between our pack lands." His voice was stronger now, more commanding. Ash had already assumed that she meant no harm. She had not even sensed him come upon her and he could have done whatever he pleased. The man, however, was no monster and he knew a threat when he saw one and she was no such thing. He was curious as to why she was near the thickets though. It was not often that a wolf from another pack came by their lands unless they needed something and she was just...here.

The young wolf cocked her head slightly, highly intent on hearing every word that was spoken by the dark brown male. “Secrete Woodlands..” She parroted as she tried to think for a moment. “OH! That’s the pack over yonder isn’t it? Her tail flicked toward the direction...opposite of the true location that the Thickets laid..she could get confused sometimes.

The misdirection was lost on the ebony female as a grin formed on her face, she wasn't really suspicious of Ash at all, taking everything he said as being truthful, because she had yet to meet a wolf with the reasons or intentions to lie to the Yearling. She paused for a moment “Hunting trails huh? Maybe our packs could work together? I mean, maybe we could help to try and establish something between the packs? Like if there's a large group wouldn’t two packs be bet-”

“Oh right, sorry @Ralea, less chitter.” Sylva said, after cutting herself off, seemingly to be having a quick but private conversation before she drew in a deep breath and eyed Ash “Sorry, what I meant to say was this; Do you think it’d be odd fi packs worked together to bring down a large piece of prey?”

Ash Hervok

She just continued to ramble. Before long, Ash felt a deep pit of anxiety form in his chest as she continued and the dark brown man had to take a deep breath to center himself. Between all she said, there was not a moment Ash could drop in the respond. All of her thoughts were jumbled and the Guardian wasn't all that sure he wanted to correct her. He wasn't even sure if he could at this point. One name, however, did stick out to him, and he did feel sick to his stomach. If she was close with Raela, then there was a possibility that she was just there to make a fool of him and flush him out. Perhaps, the bitch had sent the dumb yearling out here to test his temper.

With an irritated sigh, the Hervok man spoke, his voice eerily calm, "That depends entirely on what Gent thinks of that. You should go home now, don't you think? I'm sure he'd like to play in the snow with you too." And see that you're alive. The man was bitter about this encounter now. To add onto it, with trying to understand all the gibberish that had come fro the child's both, he had developed a headache. Surely, his sister had a simple remedy for that and he could visit her quickly after this encounter was over. The only think he learned was that, clearly, their hunting grounds were, again, not their own.
