Fallen Tree Cove Light Up The Night

When he opened his eyes the first thing Kajika noticed was twilight had fallen over the forest. He'd been asleep a lot longer than he'd planned to be. He supposed was to be expected at some point. Lately he'd been very busy and getting less sleep than usual. The dark subordinate had only planned to nap in the sun for an hour or so before going back out hunting and patrolling before finally turning in for the night. Kajika had found a quiet place away from the den and in a patch of sunlight to spend the afternoon but it was late enough now he thought it best to go back to the den.

Upon raising his head from where it had rested on the ground however he noticed something that seemed a little strange. Little green lights were floating all around him in the air. They seemed to be taking turns lighting up and then going away. Kajika knee they were fireflies as he'd seen them plenty of times before but the way they were gathered seemed much different than the previous times before.

Slowly he rose to his feet and started in the direction of the den. The fireflies however, seemed to have something else in mind as they gathered in the opposite direction and as he got closer to them they moved a little farther away. Kajika decided to follow as they floated just above the ground lighting a path through the trees.
